We had soup and baked potato. My wife is gluten free and was told she had to buy her own gluten free roll in the shop! The baked potato was very small and only lukewarm. Not what we expect from Waitrose

I ordered scrambled eggs for breakfast. I’m not sure what I had but it did not resemble anything like scrambled eggs to me. It was like an orange tasteless concoction which looked as though it had been chopped up to sit on a dry piece of cheap bread. I had expected better from Waitrose.

Rude staff - got to the check out had ordered 3 teas, so the lady put 3 tea pots cups milk etc by the till. I asked if there was a tray she said yes, where the sign says trays! The sign was on the side of a wall and not in view as you walked to the till. Rude woman, could have said as we placed the order trays are over there if it would be easier, or something similar. My elderly mum tried to explain she was not familiar with this store, the woman was dismissive and unhelpful. Needs retraining on customer service!! Not welcoming.

Cafe is clean, decent selection. Saturday staff in the cafe obviously students. We only came here because next door was packed. Coffee and food selection is average. However, if you love your pastry warmed up, don't bother to come here. They don't do it which I find bizzare, all cafes are happily do it for you. Waitrose management needs to talk to these students and change it if that's your policy because that's ridiculous.

The staff here are excellent and the service is prompt. A great menu for a supermarket lots of choice at a very reasonable price.

Usually quite good but during peak times, the restaurant fails a little with many tables not being cleared quickly enough. It also suffers from the coffee delay syndrome. Coffee machines take forever to produce one item and in the meantime, the queue gets longer. Filter coffee would be a quicker option. I also found that Waitrose use unsalted butter in their soup rolls which on a personal note, I find tastes awful, but the soup is always good.

This cafe used to be decent. There was a good dish of the day and a decent breakfast. It was a good pit stop when busy to get a reasonable bite in an overpriced town! I revisited the cafe having not been there for a considerable time. It was DIRE! Scrambled egg on toast looked like something the cat brought up and was measly. The other dish my partner had was sausages which were cheap and nasty in what can only be described as sewage water for gravy. Never again. Just like the awful disgusting toilets in waitrose.

A little like a hospital canteen, the supermarket cafe lacks any character at all, and this blandness is mirrored by the cafe menu. Sandwiches, cakes, teas and coffees feature but there is nothing to rave about. There is hot food but the staff serving it appear to be lacking any enthusiasm for serving hot or cold food. There are better options in Marlborough. Go elsewhere.

No different to other Waitrose cafes, except for the fact that it was very busy! Great coffee as usual. Polite and helpful staff

Visited Waitrose cafe, hopefully not again. Very noisy , difficult to hold a conversation and indifferent staff with limited choice of cakes and pastries.

The Waitrose Coffee Shop offers a fine selection of snacks, light lunches, cakes, drinks, etc. The very efficient staff work hard to ensure smooth running of a very busy little cafe. The coffee is excellent and there is outside seating when weather permits. Well worth a visit. Easy wheel chair access as it is situated on the ground floor.

Great coffee but often takes what seems forever to appear, meals are average and a good price. The bread rolls with the soup are good but there was no choice between salted or unsalted butter. Small selection of cakes /deserts available.

It's quite a nice place to have coffee but the cakes etc...are pricey and unremarkable. Staff friendly and nice ambience though.

Good service. Lovely latte. Free ones stopped now. Boo hoo. Cafe is in the corner of the store, so quietly separated and the same high standard you expect from Waitrose.

Visited for morning coffee, which use to be free if a Waitrose card holder, then changed to free if you buy something . Now changed again, coffee no longer free but you can have a free slice of tea loaf ( or choose from three or four others ) . Girl serving had a job to smile , in fact she looked really bored- hence the score. Waitrose need to get their act together, 11.00 am and coffee shop almost empty

Love going in for a quick snack after shopping and a free coffee is cool. Waitrose card needed of course. Ladies that cook the snacks know what they are doing. Staff doing coffee are always friendly and helpful AND the smiles are genuine.

Visited today for coffee and cake. Had a job to find a table that had not been cleared as most of the tables were left cluttered and the thing that struck me most was that it was being run by very inexperienced young staff (not their fault) who didn't have a clue what they were doing with not a supervisor or senior staff member inmsight. The young man serving me told me that I could not have any extra hot water for my tea as they had run out of teapots! Looking behind I could see where they all were! Staff were wandering past the tables and not appearing to clear them. It was not particularly busy although I'm sure it had been earlier in the day. Not good enough but I'll be back because I think this may have been a 'one off'.

Great place to grab a quick coffee ( or hot choc) with a cookie or two. Handy when in Waitrose, not many seats and can be busy.

I regularly use the Marlborough Waitrose Cafe, and have always been, and still am, very happy with the service. Queues can be slow, but this I suspect is cleverly designed so that by the time you have placed your order there are seats available. Coffee is usually excellent, but I am very concerned by the neglect paid to recent(ish) damage. There are torn plastic seat covers, and a long crack in one of the frontage windows has now been there for weeks. The cafe staff are concerned about this, but there seems to be top management inertia with regard to repairing/replacing these important "customer experience" blemishes.

This cafe is okay but could be better. The staff are cheerful and the service is quick. However some of the seating area on the sofa seating is torn and ripped which is not what you expect. I also found there was many flies in the window and landing on tables on my last visit. I asked for a glass of tap water with my coffee and was given lukewarm water from the tap in a warm glass without running it although the person in front of me received cold fridge water which looked a whole lot more refreshing. The toilets are so far away from the cafe it becomes annoying when you have to spend a penny while enjoying you coffee, sorry but people of a certain age sometimes need to run to the toilet and it is so far away from the cafe area it is embarrassing leaving to spend a penny and coming back. It is nice however to stop for a coffee after shopping.

You enter Waitrose from the car park (hard to find space on Saturday) on the lower floor, and take a lift to the store. More about this later.

Tends to have somewhat hit and miss levels of service according to staff on duty and day of week. Older staff generally a lot quicker than youngsters on duty, the latter seem to be serving on weekends. Coffee can often be not very hot.

I was very surprised to have a cooked breakfast served in a bowl - this does not make eating with a knife and fork at all easy. Fairly unimpressed all round.

Not the cheapest place to eat or snack but certainly one of the better places to snack or eat. Quality food and of course if you have a waitrose card the coffee is free.

Often packed out, really friendly yet slowwwww service and part of a mahousive chain operation. Kind of lovely though. Present a My Waitrose card and - hey presto! - get a pretty decent coffee for next to nothing. Well, as long as you buy a - reasonably priced - "treat" pastry/sarnie or even a solitary piece of fruit. Install yourself at a table and watch Wiltshire life unfold over steaming drinks. The freebies bring in all sorts of folk - locals of all ages, Waitrose devotees, tourists - and it makes it okay to wait for ages in the queue. TIP: More than 5 people in the queue? Go elsewhere unless you are super-patient/determined to get a freebie. Again. lovely staff, just not the fastest: suits Marlborough perfectly!

Waitrose Cafe serves freshly cooked food, which is well presented and delicious at reasonable prices. There are vegetarian options, both hot and cold plus a variety of drinks including decaffinated coffee. Recommended for a light lunch or snack.

As everywhere in Marlborough was busy for Valentine's day lunch, we called into the Waitrose cafe for a drink and a snack. It was busy but we were lucky enough to get a table for two. We had planned on a cake and a cuppa but there weren't many cakes left so we opted for soup of the day and a role. The service is a little slow but it was courteous and friendly. The soup of the day was tomato and basil and it was delicious and by using the Waitrose loyalty card, you got 20% off the cost of the soup and a free drink for one of us. You have a choice of a white of brown role, which were enormous! The soup was a generous portion. At £3.50 for soup and a role it's not a bad price but with 20% off it's even better value! There are also sandwiches, breakfasts and other hot foods available.

Wedding coordinators both amazing. Prompt and professional support and advice. Food was better than some Michelin restaurants I’ve been to. Five star quality; amazing service and would highly recommend. Venue went over and above what was necessary from free coffee to supporting external vendors and accommodation

Sadly it was terrible! We have been here many times and it’s been fantastic, however this was our first visit since last September and I think it will be our last. Clearly not many staff on arrival as a little while before we were greeted (not a major prob) the restaurant looked liked a bomb site, messed up dirty tables, serviette’s and food littering the floor however a young lad (glasses, curly dark hair) was trying his best to keep customers happy and clean up. At the carvery we waited a good 10 mins before we were served as no staff, what was left of the meats were dried under the lights and the veg was dry and curling at the edges, it was awful. Finally we were served by a nice young lad who got a new piece of beef and trimmed the dry bits from the gammon. The Yorkshire puddings were in a white storage box behind the food bar and they were totally soggy and resembled pancakes, I did complain at this point as clearly they were also cold to which another member of staff went to find some more. Eventually lovely fresh ones appeared. Serving spoons were directly under the heaters and were scalding even using approx 10 of the serviette’s. Peas were so dry the colour had been zapped from the top ones. Finally gravy, no there were just 2 empty messy pots. Luckily a member of staff came out the kitchen so we could ask for more. It took ages as clearly they had to make more. Finally it arrived and clearly made in a hurry as it was so lumpy but at least it was hot enough to put a bit of heat back in the other cold food. Result…. The meat wasn’t edible, I like fatty meat but the beef was tough with awful chewy, rubbery fat all though it, the Yorkshire pudding was so full of oil my daughter tipped it all over herself and the gravy was lumpy. The best bit was the cabbage! The waiter seemed embarrassed and kept checking on us doing his best and was so lovely and apologetic that i didn’t complain further. We purchased the meal with a voucher, had we not had that voucher I would have refused to pay. It was so sad to see what has been such a great restaurant (we travelled an hour to go to) turn to the mess that it was yesterday and I can only see it getting worse with the pressure the few staff you have left are having to put up with, many to young to cope with it :(

What an absolute disgrace of a place. Turned up to watch the football. Was rude to by the first person who served me. Then when I went to bar for second drink was charged £15.20 for one pint. When I complained I was told I was rude. I was then waiting at the bar to be served for about 10 mins whilst the staff were stood talking. Complained then was told I had to leave. I was polite at all times. I was then threatened with bullying tactics. Awful place. Do not go.
