Probably the worst roast I've ever had . Beef was full of fat . Turkey tasteless. Poor vegetables and the potatoes were inedible . Complained and only had to pay for drinks but not the point . Poor Poor Poor!!!!

On arriving at the Toby Carvery I booked in through the registration system, as I was prompted to do so by the duty waiter who was seating personnel. On completion of the meal, I paid my dues and drove home. Approximately 10 days later, I got a PCN fine through the post, stating I was illegally parked in the Toby Carvery car park during the period of my meal. Euro Car Parks who is representing Toby Carvery were requesting a minimum payment of £60 if paid within the set time, or a £100 if I was to appeal or to go over the limited time in which to pay. I had pre-booked my table for the times specified on the PCN fine notification, and I am right in saying, the car park is for Toby Carvery customers, of which I was according to the timings on the PCN notice fine. I had a reservation issued by Toby Carvery, and I am now facing a fine for parking in their car park, talk about taking your money and then shooting you! Furthermore, I am a registered 70% disabled war veteran, who hold s a blue badge, so parked accordingly. As you can appreciate, my walking ability isn't great, and greatly reduces my movement capability, and so therefore, can only walk from the car to the restaurant, hence why I parked in the car park, and that said, why are innocent people who are supporting the Toby Carvery chain being penalised for attending their booked table, and paying a fine similar to the charge for the meal, how is that right? It's not right, it's absolutely absurd and ridiculous, and I am shocked that Toby Carvery are supporting such actions, especially when it involves unfortunate disabled people like me. I must admit, I enjoyed all the times I spent at Toby Carvery, but since this stupid system/ action, I will no longer be visiting the restaurant anymore - the whole setup with Euro Car Parks is a sham, and if they want to destroy their business, by penalising innocent people, then carry on.

Food was good and there was no queue at the carvery drinks service slow but we did get an apology.

It was our first time coming here and very impressed with the carvery . Definitely coming back and would recommend anyone to try

Breakfast.. Buffet style so not cooked fresh Yorkies last nights?? Potato bacon hash , last night's roasts? As 4 scammed eggs...worst fresh ever seen.. Shame...toby had improved ...

We sat outside. Broken umbrella on one table so had to move. Whilst quiet, plenty of food on offer. Meat was good. Potatoes were rock hard

Good food and good service had a waitress call Paige? I think. Very nice tip her if you get her.

If you want a quick no nonsense carvery and a very reasonable price this is the place.

The food was the best I've ever had at a Toby carvery. Good helping of meats,fresh vegetables. Are waitress was amazing. Running around like crazy, but nothing was a problem to her.

The place itself is okay and clean. The staff is friendly and some put a lot of effort in giving us a good service. So I can't fault them at all and that's the only reason they get 2starts as otherwise I would only give 1. The food is a totally different story. We love tobi, but we will not return to the one in amesbury. The food in tastless and have no flavours. The beef is very fatty and the turkey very dry. The chef is very slow in topping the vegetables up and we always have to wait . I would say that the best food item are the Yorkshire puddings. We tried breakfast and unless you arrive when it starts you might not have a full English breakfast 😪

Had breakfast here on our way down to Devon, very nice food, with friendly staff.

Welcoming staff, food hot and tasty, waitress was extremely patient and informative to another customer who said he had a gluten allergy.The family walked out without eating which was nothing to do with the expert way the staff handled the situation. Well done to all the staff.

Very little meat and not enough extras. Go to a pub instead for your sunday roast

I’ve always been a fan of Toby Carvery and accepted the inevitable price increases over the years. However you can appreciate that a family of four can rarely eat out. Once a month at best. I wasn’t impressed when at the hot plate I was informed that no Turkey or Beef was available. Come on guys, this is your ‘bread and butter’. UPDATE- I have since spoken with the general manager Joshua who kindly offered to make up for the shortfall. Thank you for taking the time to engage.

Food was bland and the floor was slippery because of dropped food everywhere..The carvery in Amesbury is normally very good bud standards have definitely dropped which is disappointing 😞

Right near the A303, so you can't miss it. The staff were helpful, and the food was good. I will use this place again in the future when in the area. Thank you.

It was a very good experience with great service and food our drinks came on whilst we where at the deck as me and my wife went straight up as we were starving. The meat was cooked to perfection and vegetables to the yorkshire puddings. Our waitress she was blonde I forgot her name be she was very polite also caring if we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend

Stopped in for some lunch with my son and daughter, the server was incredibly friendly and the carver was very helpful helping my daughter choose the food she wanted. Brilliant meal!

Very helpful staff. Food was brought out fresh with lots of options available. We were also seated very shortly after arriving which meant less hanging about!

Calvery food was dry and hard. The meat portions ( I asked for beef and turkey) were thinner than bacon slices. I compensated by having loads of potatoes which ended up being too hard to eat on the outside and totally soft on the inside. Our plates were not cleared for over half an hour after we had finished eating. There was only about 15 to 20 people in the whole place. I hate to think what it would be like if it were busy. Such a shame, Toby calvery used to be good.

The food was good and reasonably priced but the service not so good as the tables were not cleared quickly. Also it was too hot in the restaurant even with the windows open.

Very nice place! Divine food, the service was amazing, and the waitress' and waiters were so very kind. 5/5, 10/10, would reccomend.

Shared a hygiene concern with the staff who made no attempt to address a simple solution (or acknowledge that it was even a problem 😳). I won't be rushing back.

No hand soap in 4 of the toilets and no paper in one of them. Complained to staff and they said they'd tell the manager, no apologies. Later another person complained and they simply said well one of them has sanitizer. With everyone using the same serving spoons and no one having clean hands after visiting the toilet I think this is a good safety risk.

This time we went it was under new management and a new chef. As the last time we went it was awful, in everyway. Friendly staff, great food. Prices aren't to bad either. But the price for softs drinks is dearer than alcoholic drinks

Standing waiting to be served the waiter called the chef to come so I waited patiently as I thought he might be busy when he came out he was texting on his phone ignored me and carried on texting then showed one of the waiter they had a laugh about something on the phone then with out looking or asking me what I would like put some meat on the plate I asked him can I have some beef gave me a look put some on my plate then turned to the waiter with his phone

Lined up, looked at the food and decided to leave. The food looked absolutely awful. Some potato and pea gratin thing that looked dry. Dry veg, roast potatoes that looked like they'd never been near any oil and no beef dripping roast potatoes. The gravy has been really watery the last few times we've been. Today you could have stood a spoon up in it. The kids are now eating macdonalds and I'll have to cook when we get home for me and the husband. Thought it would be a nice treat for everyone for the end of term.

Used to go there regularly for breakfasts and lunches being the nearest Toby to home in Salisbury. However the food became so consistently bad that we were forced to travel to the Hinton outlet(near Bournemouth) where we always get a very good meal with everything perfectly done despite the distance we have to travel. Tried complaining several times for the poor quality of the food at Amesbury but nothing seemed to change so in the end we just gave up and travelled to Hinton.

If you simply want a massive feed, go here for the carvery... it won't be pretty or even the best quality ever, but you will be full!

Great food, accommodating staff, & cozy place.

Visited with the over 60’s discount but was not made clear it was for one diner only. We were both over 60. Usually the offers are for upto 6 diners so assumed this discount would cover two of us. The food and service was, however, on point.

Lovely place to visit for an unbelievable roast dinner

There were 4 of us thought the amount of meat three off us got was a bit stingy 3 had the bigger plate options and the one with the standard dinner got more meat

The meat buffet was already very plundered, the meat was very salty and the mashed potatoes rather tasteless, the vegetary menü options were fine.

Went here for the Sunday all you can eat breakfast, but wouldn't be returning sadly. The food itself was alright but everything felt too crunchy; yes i understand the food is a buffet style and would potentially be left our for a while but it wasn't massively enjoyable. Servers was not attentive.

We arrived on time and was seated quick, we ate but the potatoes were old and didn't taste nice and the Yorkshire pudding was so hard I couldn't eat it, all other items were nice. We had our plates cleared shortly after and waited to be asked for puddings which never happened so we waited some more and decided to wait for the bill which also didn't happen, we heard staff asking all other tables if they wanted pudding just not us.so we went to the bar and paid this meal was for our wedding anniversary so was hoping it would be nice but unfortunately not.

Great roast beef was top notch!!

Very well ran establishment and even during peak times, the long looking queues are not an issue as the staff manage this fantastically to ensure you're not waiting forever. Would definitely recommend booking if you're wishing to visit on a Sunday lunch which to be honest should go without saying.

Stopped here on the way south. I always find Toby's food, at best, average where the focus is quantity over quality. This could be what people want, so serves its purpose. You would think considering it specialises in carvery that it would do that bit really well. That said, its always busy so food quality might not be an issue to the masses. On the other side of it, the young girl who served me was very friendly and polite.

On arrival yesterday, Sunday 23 June they only had Gammon no other choice of meats. Had run out of Beef, Turkey and Pork. Lamb was still cooking. We did not stay. When we booked online they had loads of bookings following ours so we were left wondering how these people would be accommodated. Pretty poor situation, given they were due to close at 9pm and it was only 6pm. Won't be rushing back

As always, the food was excellent. Tender roast beef, roasties and a great range of veggies. Can't beat it for value for money. Our server was lovely too. It's clean and functional - not the most atmospheric of venues, but tbf that's not why we go there - we go for the roast I didn't have to cook myself! L

If you book for breakfast, you are told to sit anywhere. Defeats the object of booking. Hardly any staff, lots of tables empty but covered in dirty plates. Not the best.

Burnt food probably yesterday's, one slice of turkey?? Talked to the manager about the coke machine that a few people complained about and she wasnt interested!! Wasn't good won't be going there again, sort it out Toby.

Came for breakfast for father's day Booked in for 1030, when arrived paid for breakfast and unlimited tea and coffee, when at buffet, food choices were limited as they had ran out. Food quality not the best. Coffee pots rarely full managed to get 2 cups of weak filter coffee in the 45 mins I was there. Seemed short on staff. Would not recommend for breakfast atleast

It was my mother-in-law’s 89th birthday. The staff were amazing. The food was yummy. Thank you so much. The staff made our day.

The most horrendous smelling restaurant I’ve ever stepped foot in. The entire place smells of raw sewage, I couldn’t enjoy my meal. When asking about the smell I was told it’s the dishwasher in the bar. Won’t be returning.

Food was lukewarm and potatoes hardly resembled roasties. Food tasted as it was reheated several times. Very unprofessional service. Firstly the waiter spilled ale all over the child leaving her in tears (no effort was made to cheer her up either) secondly no one informed us that the kids can get pudding with their roast (included in price). When asked to take kids pudding away with us got told it’s not worth it as it will cost extra !?! No manager visible either! Overall terrible experience for our family who visited from abroad!

Had breakfast there which was enjoyable

Man carving meat with loads of tattoos was very friendly and informative alongside the woman bringing out the food. The waitress with the blue hoop was lovely and answered all l questions. Food was delicious and would 100% recommend.

What can I say!! Would not recommend!!wasn't busy, so no excuse for really bad service once seated no acknowledgement, staff just walking around! waited over 20 mins and no drink order taken so then went and spoke to a server who then took order!! Carvery sparce on meat .(Small amount) 2 little pieces. Then when put cutlery down was asked if that was all and did we want the bill without asking if we wanted anything else!!! Really disappointed When finished carvery

It's not the best we have been to but the service was good. It just doesn't do anything out of the ordinary food wise.

We enjoyed the comfy seating and the warm atmosphere. Food was amazing, the meat was very soft and tender. The Yorkshire puds are always a winner. Our waitress,Lucy, was friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely family lunch.

Such amazing and friendly staff and got my son a smaller knife and fork set the food was also amazing and fresh and lots of new stuff like sweetcorn green beans etc. the staff made sure we were looked after and had everything we needed and made sure we where happy with the food

Nice location, clean interior and bathrooms. Breakfast was Fair value. Lack of coffee choice at breakfast was a shame and wouldve been nice to have water available.

Really basic food. Meat was cut so thin you can see through it. The roast potatoes reminded me of old school dinners.

Only had two different meats all the veg was dry because heating is to high utensils to hot to hold not great

A pleasure to visit here today with great staff and a Toby that actually served hot food for a change. The food was great and the gravy was not the usual watery texture so that was a surprise. Toffee pudding was very impressive. Keep up the standards

Food sitting under warmer so long it was dried out and had to wait 40 minutes on waitress to get to our table and get a drink. Even asked multiple times and always told will be there in a minute. Worst place ever. Save your money and time and go somewhere else. Tried to order cocktails and after three times of them saying they were out of something for each one, we gave up. HORRIBLE!

A truly great experience with very helpful and polite staff who go the extra mile to make sure you are happy. Many thanks especially to Lucy who always goes out of her way to ensure we enjoy our visit! Keep up the excellent job.

Absolutely disgusting. Vegetables were all shrivelled up, obviously been there for hours. Potatoes burnt, hardly any meat choice, Turkey, gammon and pork. Only thing that was okay was the Yorkshires. Second time we have been here in two years. Never again. Been to other Toby carverys such as the one in Poole, which was outstanding. This one in Amesbury is terrible. Such a shame. No wonder it was almost empty on a Wednesday night. Serving disgusting food won't win the customers.

The carvery itself was fine. My kids had items off the kids menu and they were poor. The chicken nuggets looked plastic and the chipolatas. were dry and tough. Service when it was present was friendly but sadly it was mostly absent.
