Place was dead on a Saturday night. There is no atmosphere and very few people in there. We had 1 drink and left.

What can I say it has been taken over and they are smashing it the food was great I had a all day breakfast with was lovely and my partner had the sirloin stake with she really enjoyed I spoke to the chef about the meats with they now get from the butchers in Corsham and the bar staff were great

Absolutely rude service. Bar man told us to f***off. We were given the wrong drinks so politely asked what the drinks were as what was given was wrong and we were told to f***off. Arrogant little boy. Sort your staff out!

Visited on a Saturday evening for drinks with visiting family. There was a DJ on that night, no food ordered so cannot rate that section. Staff were friendly.

Love the "new branded" Brunel! Food was absolutely amazing! Fresh and nicely presented! Staff well mannered, nothing was too much trouble! The lady behind the bar was just simply amazing! Definitely a better vibe from my visit a few months ago when it felt like kids club!

Great staff, very warm welcome,coped with busy Saturday afternoon crowd. Good choice of beers and wines. Yard long sharing platter was unbelievable, good value for money and very tasty. Good fun for a Saturday lunchtime 😋

Poor customer service. Place packed on a sat afternoon and one member of staff behind the bar. Long queues to get a pint. A lick of paint hasn't covered up the same service very poor. Not bar staff fault but management

What a dump!! I was served the most appalling Gin and Tonic....

Not sure which pronouns the barmaid uses but sure LAZY is one of them, couldn't be arsed to cut me a lime or lemon for my drink... the DJ's mixing came straight out of a deaf kids nursery... a Will Smith Meddley was the cherry on the cake... a night full of laughter ( but the wrong kind)

Staff not trained enough and what is all the single file queing about . Its a bar stand and wait to be served not rocket science

We are from Argentina and during our stay in Chippenham we were looking for a bar to eat something and have a few drinks and we came across The Brunel, an excellent place, delicious food and drinks and a very good atmosphere!!! Furthermore, the staff that assisted us was very friendly!! Definitely if we go back to Chippenham we would come back here :)

Absolutely love this place. I accidentally broke a glass and they were brilliant about it. The service was great and the bartender on 17th April was amazing. Funny af and perfect service.

Terrible experience me and my friends came for a couple drinks 2-4-1 cocktails and the person that served us didn’t want to make certain drinks because he said he was tired and wanted us to buy easier drinks for him to make. Such a shame fora

Nice pub beer was not the best, but overall, not bad

The place was dirty and the portion sizes miniscule. I had Scampi and chips and I thought it was a starter the portion was so small. It was served on what looked like a tea plate, and even then the portion was lost on the plate. At £10 it was a rip off

Food very low standard was ill for 2 days after. My daughter took me for mother's day meal which was ruined by poor cooked food and service was awful hot food placed in front of 18 month old with no thought that it could burn the child food just slammed down in front of us. Would not recommend this place to anyone

Probably the better place for a night out in Chippenham. Although it could do with some love with the decor and sometimes needs a good clean but that's what you get on a busy Saturday night anywhere. Service only loses a star as again it gets so busy on a weekend the poor staff are flat out, again expected in such a busy pub

staff are really friendly, food is good, sports atmosphere is the best in town - what more could you want! UPDATE: I came for the drag bingo and the atmosphere was amazing

Disappointing. Ordered chips and drinks. The chips were luke warm and a very small portion and not very tasty. Poor quality and poor value.

Excellent service from Jack. He is amazing, he is cool, he is funny. Even in the mad rush, he still shines and is very fast as well (clearly takes his time elsewhere 😉😉). Such an amazing venue as well, best place to go if you're single and want a bartender to flirt with

Always greated with a smile when I visit with my family, we don't get to see each other very often so having a reliable positive environment to go to makes every visit so much more memorable. Can't fault the staff, friendly, polite and always willing to go the extra mile.

Maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong and I'll change my review. But it seems like there's multiple "restaurants" on uber eats with your address connected. All with bad food? Seems weird to me.

Staff are really friendly and a great selection of drinks and food. The worst thing about this place is that it needs a good and regular clean. The floor is so sticky my friend had her shoes pulled off multiple times while walking. The toilets are nasty af and the stairs leading up to them have so much grime on them. Give the place a good power wash down regularly and you’d have a 4-5 star place.

Friendly staff but the food is truly disgusting - but you get what you pay for. Pleasnt place for a quiet drink but save yourself money and indigestion and avoid the menu

Nice staff good seating and food selection

Prebooked a table as they are "showing all F1 races". They didn't put on the race until only 45 minutes remained, due to the football being on. Food was served cold, with over an hour wait. Portions are very badly priced.

So this isn't my first visit to the brunel and normally if anyone wanted to come to Chippenham and needed somewhere to eat drink and watch the football id say to go here, however today was not good, I ordered a jacket potatoe it took nearly 40 minutes! Its a jacket potato, I can almost guarantee it wasn't fresh but I except that but then it shouldn't take that long, I had to wait a further 5 minutes just to get cutlery, everything ok here?

Its ok, same as many pubs. Good location.

Love this place, the staff are always friendly and smiling. My one gripe is, and it may seem small but to me it’s a big one, where are the chicken nuggets on the menu? I have to have chicken nuggets in my life, come on you know you want to do them 😀

Fantastic place, great service, attentive staff, and really nice food. One thing I'd change is that I'd allow a free refill on the pots of tea. The pots aren't big, the cups are small, and with my full English I like a good mug of tea. Other than that, I would definitely visit there again when I'm in the area.

I always get a warm welcome here from the staff when I walk in. Very good choice of lagers and ales on draft, regularly changing their line-up. A nice big screen for the Formula One and there's a chef on til late as well. Fab DJ too, providing a lift to the atmos on a Fri & Sat evening too 🙂👍🍻. Brunel is more often than not my first choice for a good time out in town!

Brunel chippenham has to be at the top of anyones list of pubs to visit if you're local or simply visiting! I have been here several times both throughout the week and on a weekend! Every experience here has been nothing less than superb. The staff go above and beyond to accommodate you no matter the time of visit whether its a quiet midweek drink or a weekend blowout they are always doing their best to make sure your visit is to the best of standards while running an extremely well functioning pub. A few staff have really stood out to me and it's only fair they get the recognition and my appreciation at the same time. So Mirko, Natalia, sadie, mikaela and Jack keep up the outstanding work guys.

Perfect for families. Large seating area, good value food, friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone who's looking for a family meal or a quiet drink or to watch events on the TVs.

Plenty of Ales and Lagers to choose from. The food was excellent and not too expensive. Large screen Tvs are in all areas to watch the Sport. Pool table and Dart board for use.Staff are very friendly and helpful. Disabled toilet on the ground floor, Other toilets are upstairs. A room is available for hire at the rear with its own bar. Will return. Recommended

Went to watch the England v Iran World Cup game. Plenty of TVs to choose from. Great choice of drinks and a special football menu. Great value for money. Bar team were friendly, and the service was fast. Great atmosphere, even my 82 year old Dad had a great time!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️🤓🍻

This public house is a bit of a walk away from the river, is it worth the walk not really, it has limited selection of real ales, mostly larger and spirits, they do food but we didn't eat there.

I and a friend went for lunch at the Brunel today. The food was very good, a reasonable price and the bar person very pleasant and helpful. My sweet was absolutely yummy too! We shall make the Brunel our regular meeting place as couldn’t wish for better! Thanks 🙏

Nicely sized pub, big screen and tv's for sport, pool table, dance floor and resident DJ with a good selection of drinks. Always busy amd vibrant with lots of places to sit.

A really nice place. Awesome food (specifically the bbq mac burger). Family friendly and dogs are welcome too. Will be returning.

The staff in the pub were friendly. A number of the tables looked like they had not been cleaned recently. The cubicles in the gent's toilet were in dire need of a clean.

Called in yesterday to watch the British Grand Prix, had a great time with the commentary (which a lot of pubs do not offer in my experience) the atmosphere and service was fantastic from the young lad and girl behind the bar, the burger was excellent, can highly recommend this place. 💯 %

Nice food but they recently reduced their all day breakfast tray portion used to be a lot but now a lot less and still the same price, but overall love the place.

We had a cracking night at the Brunel after we'd got back from Bath. Great music, great drinks and lovely staff. They even put the F1 replay on the telly for me so I could watch it from the dance floor....win, win 🏆 😉

Stumbled across the pub on our travels, was welcomed by the landlord/barman... clean tidy boozer good selection of drinks,sports on several large screen tv's all had food and was pleasantly surprised... burgers were amazing 👏

Stopped in for food and a drink while in Chippenham for work, genuinely impressed, great service and food. Never really leave reviews but must say this place really impressed me after a busy day!

This pub has alot to offer with food, drinks, entertainment/ sports and amazing customer service. I highly recommend coming here for a meal, a drink and family day out. Side note I highly recommend the chocolate fudge cake

Very friendly atmosphere coming from staff and customers, plenty of great events and competitions all year round and the most elite workers imaginable, particularly the young lad with the red hoodie. Highly recommend for a nice pub lunch or a meet up with friends/family or to watch your favourite sports teams
