We visited this coffee shop for lunch with our two dogs. We were made very welcome and the sandwiches, coffee and hot chocolate were excellent! We also took some cakes home which were also lovely. Highly recommended and we will definitely return!

Small coffee shop with riverside views. Near the main car park, so great place to catch your breath with lunch or coffee and cake before or after visiting the main town. Good bookshop too - nice gift items and cards as well as a good selection of specialist books. Staff are really helpful too!

Very good coffee and homemade baked goods in this cosy little café overlooking the river Kennet. (I understand that the freshly made soups are the favourite lunch of many in the neighbourhood.) Very friendly and welcoming, a good place for some peace and quiet or a lively chat.

Our first visit to Marlborough and we found it a very interesting place and as we returned to the car park we saw this quaint little café and popped in for a drink. All covid 19 restriction's are in place and as there wasn't any room downstairs we sat upstairs. I have to say this premise is quite small and not for large parties. The ladies in charge were both friendly and the sweets we ordered with our tea were very nice, especially the scones which were hot out of the oven. If your in Marlborough give it a try.

After a busy morning in the shopping centre it was nice to sit by the crystal clean stream in the courtyard of this quaint tea/coffee house. Perfect location & good service

A lovely tranquil place to stop of coffee and cake. Great value and a nice place to browse afterwards. Well worth seeking it out by the river, much nicer than the generic coffee shops on the high street and just as good.

Good coffee, home-made cakes and light lunches. The cafe incorporates a Chritian bookshop and is very compact.

This cafe definitely has a lot of personality. I had the best hot chocolate here that I have had in a long while! My dad and I enjoyed passing the time by quizzing each other on the bible using a quiz book on the table, simple enough but it made our visit rather amusing! The staff were all lovely and the cakes were delicious. It’s setting is so beautiful, a real hidden gem of Marlborough. 100% recommend.

Dropped in quite by chance. Excellent coffee and cake in quiet welcoming surroundings. Seating inside up and downstairs and also outside. Lots of community activities advertised on the walls. Didn’t immediately realise it had religious overtones until I’d sat down and looked at some of the books, but not too overwhelming and no pressure, so ok.

Never even knew this was there until I found it by pure chance at the end of the Waitrose car park. Had some very tasty soup one day and a coffee another day. Option to sit inside or on a sunny day watch the ducks in the river. Friendly welcoming staff also. Nice place.

Stumbled across this dear little cafe yesterday while in Marlborough with a friend. Delicious gluten and dairy free cake and very nice cup of tea. Cheerful friendly staff and a really nice little place to meet with a friend for a catch up. I was so nicely surprised thst they had a cake I could eat and it was really scrummy! Highly recommend.

Service poor, staff unfriendly with poor communication skills. Coffee and one cake arrived and the second cake arrived when the coffee was finished; no explanation given for this. Not a particularly pleasant experience

A small coffee shop that at first glance belies the comfort of the interior. A complete wall of the shop is glass, overlooking the crystal clear water of the Kennet as it flows under the bridge, with ducks and a variety of water birds floating on the top. The staff are amazing, always smiling, happy to chat, and masters of their art at making coffee - the cappuccino was amazing, whilst the lemon drizzle cake was truly to die for - this was an inch thick slice, not a wafer. An amazing and very worthwhile find.

Although there are many places in Marlborough where you can get a snack and a hot drink, there is nowhere quite like the Mustard Seed. Its location enables a peaceful place to spend a relaxing time away from any sense of hustle and bustle. The staff are friendly and especially recommended are the home made soups - especially the pea and mint. We live in Marlborough and this is now becoming one of our "go to" places especially if we want to switch off for a while.

This is the sort of place I would like to run! Good Christian bookshops are fewer these days, and when you can browse at leisure, when there are good displays and friendly staff, you just want to linger and enjoy every moment. There's a small seating area for tea/coffee and a good selection of tempting cakes.

There are around 200 chalk streams in the whole world and one of them flows quietly beside this small but very welcoming coffee shop/bookshop. Rather than facing the busy High Street why not sit beside the large riverside window and watch the ducks ferry glide across the current or perhaps browse the books while enjoying your coffee and home made cake. The chocolate coated tiffin and the coffee cake… mmm.

This is a bijou riverside coffee shop! It is located in an old boathouse behind Waitrose - actually in the car park so it's very convenient for shopping too. The cakes are excellent and for the more savoury tooth, baked potatoes and soup are delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful, definitely service with a smile. Despite being in a car park, the riverside location makes it very peaceful and there's usually plenty of bird life to watch; such a change from the hurly-burly of the High Street. Rachel and Deborah work hard to find interesting books and there are plenty of cards and small presents on sale.

Peaceful oasis/small coffee and bookshop, perched on the bank of the River Kennet...not unusual to watch a family of swans cruising by. Lots to browse while "proper" coffee being brewed....books, gifts, music. Dangerously yummy cakes! esp the lemon drizzle. Toasties as well as plain sandwiches..made exactly when needed. Baked potatoes. lovely homemade soups. Less than 100 yds from Marlborough High St where there's lots to explore.

The mustard seed is a lovely cafe to visit in Marlborough. Situated right by the river in the old boathouse nestling in the corner of the main care park.. Eating indoors or out. Upstairs is a small area with soft sofa and chairs for small groups to meet and chat. Downstairs is the main eating area and the window looks directly onto the chalk stream filled with ducks, swans and, often, a heron.

Dreadful is all I can say. Cakes and all look great but did not try as for a place that majors on Coffee and Tea our experience was that it looked dreadful and tasted the same!

Stopped here for drinks this morning with friends. One of our group wanted a mug of hot water to which I was told there would be a charge of 60p! Needless to say we refused. Totally unnecessary and means we won't return or recommend it to others.

First of all, got charged over £20 too much, queried the bill & waitress printed out receipt, I had to point out it was 2 cold drinks, sandwich & toasted tea cake. Gave back the change from £30 I paid with, then had to explain how much change I required, even then she got it wrong but was beyond caring! Food arrived at different times, my tea cake was not toasted it was warm, I suspect it had been defrosted & heated in microwave as was chewy & honestly one of the worst eating out experiences.

having just parked our car we left the car park to look for a nice café to have morning coffee. We didn,t have to look far when we saw this little shop right by the side of a running stream. We ordered our coffee and had a quick look around the books and cards.

It has been some time since I came here but I wanted to add a retrospective review as this little coffee shop/restaurant was so good. It overlooks the river and we watched the ducks. The food was good and there is plenty to look at in the shop. It is right by a car park (that is how we found it) and we visited it several times when driving through Marlborough.

Stopped on a trip from Cinderford to Romsey , have driven past many times but never had time to stop, husband and son had ‘small ‘ breakfast and I had toast and jam, the breakfast was a great size, quickly served and tasted great, really good value for money . Toilets and rest of premises are really clean and can’t wait to visit again

Ok so Lynne and I are back at The New Inn with friends having yet another superb meal. We have now eaten here a few times and I feel I should commend the staff and the chef ( who we found out his name was Ronnie ) very nice touch when he comes out of the kitchen personally to ask if everything is ok. Once again superb service and our friends also commented on how lovely this superb pub/restaurant is. Even when we pop in for a snack Pizza that is just superb. Well done all at The New Inn. we certainly will be back and so will our friends. You guys deserve to do well as you always go the extra mile. Thank you, so refreshing in this day and age . We will be booking for a meal again l this Saturday night with some more friends. all the very best Ian & Lynne

The Bradley Hare is an elegant enterprise but tends to cater for diners and private parties rather than dog walkers looking for a pint and a sandwich; indeed the lunchtime snack menu is almost non existent. On occasions the bar closes completely to facilitate private functions. In short, the Bradley Hare is perhaps more of a "restaurant with rooms" rather than a traditional hostelry.
