One of the best pubs for food in Trowbridge hands down, I had home made faggots yesterday and it was lush! £6.95, absalute bargain, The chili con carne is homemade as well and the best I've tasted, we are regular visitors, highly recommend

Visited the Kings Arms for a freinds birthday meal and had a really great time. Staff were fab, service was fab and the cozy local pub was... well cozy 10 /10. Food was homemade and very tasty however my burger had tooo much onion in so maybe a speacil request is needed if your not a onion fan. Overall my experiance was great and will be visiting again for more tasty pub grub

Appealing town centre pub, popular with both drinkers and diners. Four handpumps offer a good selection of ales - nothing really local the the time of our visit, but the Salcombe Gold (from Devon) went down very nicely. There's a good, inexpensive menu with all the things you would expect: Lasagne, Chilli, Fish & Chips, Sausage & Mash, Burgers and so on. It's basically pub grub, nothing out of the ordinary, but all very well prepared and attractively priced. Many of the main dishes come in at under £10 and nothing more than £12.50 apart from the Rib Eye Steak (£17.50). I chose the locally sourced Wiltshire Sausages & Mash, which were very good, served with broccoli and a jug of gravy. The young staff are friendly and welcoming. One thing that is a bit of a surprise here is the attractive, enclosed garden to the rear.

Loved that pub and it had a great food. The natchos was the best!

Great little pub, serves Carling, a couple of good looking birds behind the bar, what else do you need? Publish closing times are actually kicking out times. We were there on Sunday, last orders at 21:30, bar closed at 21:45. So time your drinking accordingly.

A lovely afternoon with great company in the beer garden

4.4 rating is a fair rating. Reasonable prices OK, there's been a bit of a development since I wrote this review. On the 20th June,I went in there for about 4 pints and on my last pint of fosters it cost £7.10 and the going rate is £4.10.( I have my bank statement to prove this). Obviously, this might be a genuine mistake ( I would hate to think otherwise). I use a PDQ machine at work which stands for: processing data quickly, and you have to be careful to what you put in. Now £3 isn't a lot of money, so I'm not going to make a fuss, but this sort of carelessness will cost you business. I'm not implying anything here, but if the staff are drinking at work then maybe they should think about not doing so. I'll be happy to show you the transaction online and maybe a complimentary drink might be appropriate. To be honest, it's made think twice before visiting you again.

Always a good atmosphere in here with some fascinating locals and regulars. Good seating both in and out for when there is better weather. Haven't tried their food yet though.

We come here regularly and have found the menu consistently good which is why we always return. It's good value for money and the staff are friendly, helpful and patient. Being in a central location in Trowbridge it is easy to find and can get very busy so it's advisable to book. I've found the Chef very accomodating with dietary needs. It's a pity a few people who bring relatives and friends with social anxieties had not pre-planned their visit more carefully as I imagine staff need to think of overall customer welfare. It is after all, a busy public house and staff may not be in a position to diagnose behavioural issues so perhaps carers should think carefully before placing someone in their care in an environment which may be upsetting for them.

Whenever I visit The King's Arms I invariably find the ale quality and food value are exemplary. Delightful evenings in a great atmosphere.

Not a clue why Google thinks I've been here. I don't even know where it is. But every month they ask me about it, and I don't know what to say.

I came to Trowbridge to see a movie, missed my bus by 6 minutes and thought I'd wait an hour at The Kings Arms. Lovely atmosphere, locals were nice, polite and the staff are lovely. A nice selection of good Ales. I might just miss the next bus as well.

Bucket of chicken was spot on! Highly recommend, does exactly what it says on the tin, WiFi didn't work and a bit oldy worldy but does a good job, would visit again

Kitchen opens from 17:30 from what I experienced on Wednesday, lots of tables were reserved so it's best to reserve a place to sit otherwise you might have little choice and sit next to a rather unfortunate loud crowd which made the experience a little uncomfortable. Staff were very friendly and the service was top notch. Food was pretty good, nothing extraordinary, burger was served without a sauce or salad on the burger, you do however get some salad drizzled with BBQ sauce on the plate with the burger that's meant to be eaten with the fries but I do suggest you put some in your burger to make it better.

Visited yesterday with my cousin and husband. We needed a snack and a drink. Was pleasantly surprised. Firstly,I do like eating out ! The pub was quite busy ,for midweek. The round of drinks was reasonable. Menu was quite extensive,good choice for veggies. We opted for ciabatta rolls salad,fries. Presentation was excellent. Rolls delicious. Fries were hot ! Very reasonable pricing. All in all very good. Would recomend,definitely.

Proper pub, best place for a pint and some great pub grub in Trowbridge. Appreciate the honest menu at a good price. Always good food, generally lovely and busy.

I am totally very upset when I visited your pub for lunch with a lady I support who is Autistic who has a learning disability & can become very anxious at times I am very experienced support worker & able to calm & reasure her day to day life There was a step in to the pub when we entered & she became very anxious & upset She was shouting & becoming very destressed I eventually got her seated at table When she started to calm down A member staff told us we had to leave the pub I am so upset about how she was treated Completely out of Order & not absenting people with learning disabilities & who are autistic

Absolutely beautiful meal tonight. Dealt with my partners crazy allergy without an issue at all. It was fantastic to be able to enjoy a meal out with family and him be able to eat with us so thank you.

This is a proper pub serving proper food without the nonsense. If you want a good pint of bear, a great cider, decent glass of wine with your home cooked tasty food then go here. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere calm and friendly. If you want tweazer food, expensive tasteless drinks and snotty staff then thus isn't the place for you!

First visit in a long time. Change of plans meant I arrive at 13:40 and meals were still being served. Had a pint of cider and pork belly for lunch. Quick, friendly service and good food. Would recommend.

Super friendly locals; we came in for lunch but unfortunately they don’t serve food on Sundays. One of the patrons kindly gave us advice on where would be good (and not good) for Sunday lunch!

Very good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff

Friendly and efficient service. Had a tasty fish pie with broccoli and carrots that were cooked properly (hate overdone veg), and the portion size was very generous and I struggled to finish. Well worth the money.

It is testament to this pub that whenever we have any family/friends staying, they always ask “Please can we go to the Kings Arms for a meal?” We are happy to oblige because without exception we have never had a bad meal there. Last week was no different with our friends from France. The two men had Ribeye Steak, I had Steak & Stilton pie (normally have Chilli which is the best I’ve ever had but fear I’m becoming addicted!) and my friend Fish n chips. Everything was declared delicious and our plates totally cleaned. Please have the Choc/Hazlenut brownie with icecream for dessert (if you can squeeze it in) it is divine!

2021, Well, what can I say other than an excellent choice of place to go and get good food & drinks good atmosphere, I had the pleasure of celebrating my 50th birthday meal with lots of friends & family at the king's arms. Food came out very efficiently & piping hot, (& not Luke warm) my guests said the food was very nice🥰 The staff where very efficient especially Becky she was so Lovely and so kind she helped me untangle the balloons for me, offered to keep my b'day cake cool for me, she didn't rush us at all to finish up quickly, couldn't fault this pub. Mike, I just want to say a BIG THANK-YOU to you all so much for accommodating us all & letting me having my celebration at the king'arms it all went very smoothly. 🥰🍸🍷🍹🍾🍧🎂🧁

Where do you get a main meal for under £10 nowadays? Every time I visit the Kings Arms I am amazed at how delicious the food is and at how great the price is. I live in Canada and have been eating out alot in the last month and I can honestly say that my chilli was one of the best meals I have eaten. I came out with 6 other ladies and there was not a single scrap of food left on our plates. There is a varied menu of all the pub classics. Will be back again soon!

Absolute Awful place. Never again. This used to be a pleasant public house. Now that all the kids have grown up its not a nice place to visit! I seriously believe that this is used to sell illegal things let alone drugs. I've seen people selling stolen goods in here.

Came here with my autistic brother on a quiet evening for a few drinks. We only had about 3 drinks and the bar lady comes to our table shouting at my brother demanding him to leave because he apparently got sick in the toilets. My brother told us it wasn't him he saw it there when he went to use the toilets but he apologizd anyway because of how upset she was...he didn't have any sick on him he wasn't even drunk...just because he used the toilet a few times as he has a short bladder when he drinks. But she kepts accusing him and told us all to leave. She had no evidence that it was him, just claimed he was the only man in the pub and the last one out the toilets...which wasn't true at all there was men in and out of the pub all evening. Just targeting my brother because he's a bit different and volnerable...absolutely disgusting service won't be back again.

We were a large family visiting Trowbridge for the first time, searched for a decent place to eat with family and found this really decent pub serving the most delicious food. Along with my family (10 the first evening and 14 the next), we sat to enjoy fantastic pub grub. A great choice on the menu to suit all palates, freshly prepared and beautifully served. Pub served a great choice of beers for the men and the whole experience was very welcoming, helpful and they were only too happy to accommodate a large group at very short notice. Nothing was too much trouble

We had the most fabulous fish pie here for lunch, great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly.

We’ve eaten at the king’s arms for about 10 years,and every single time it has been spot on in every way.We can’t fault it,and when we have guests we always end up taking them out here.Sometimes they have discount deals but I feel too guilty about using them as the quality,service,value is already unmatched..Thankyou and see you next week.

Staff could do with being a bit faster, but who I took to be the landlady was quick. The Tribute was cheap but was not Tribute. Still good beer. Amazing facilities in the garden, how have they fitted so much into a small place.

Only found this pub coz of a missed connection on way to Newquay, glad we did though, very nice, good local real ale and a very friendly landlord. If I'm in Par again I will return.

We had a pub lunch today both had rib eye steaks everthing cooked to perfection and one thing i always check the plates all hot and warm i a bit past the sale date at 86 but was fussed over and was made comfy so thank you all for a wonderful lunch if you want the best visit here thanks again SNOWY THE MAN WITH THE RED HAT

Vast array of options on the menu, generous portions and so reasonably priced! Staff and landlady are always so friendly! This pub has become a regular for a lunch visit and I can't recommend it enough!

Been here many times before and until now the service was 10/10 but they seem to have hired a new member of bar staff and she is just beyond rude. Throughout the order she stopped to check her phone multiple times and also started conversations with other customers while we were trying to order. I wouldn't call this polite service!

I have to say llove this place n always have Has nice atmosphere Always large n roomy. So on my coach trip to Abergavenny today. l walked to the town n popped in the Kings Head enquired whether l could still reserve a table. I explained there's usually 5 of us n always book the same large table So today, just me, I booked for 12.30 lunch. Whilst there l had a latte Haha not a free one! Latte bit too strong n asked if l could have a drop of hot milk added. Young assistant obliged n said she would take it to my table. 12.25 l walked in for my lunch. Resturant was very busy. I ordered toasted sandwich it came with chips n salad. After 20 mins when l asked few times, is my lunch ready. When it came my toasted sandwich was not done abit longer as l asked for, but l ate it. Chips were lovely The salad well it was tiny garnish Lots of dark red leaves n few green bits of lettuce!!! I ate couple bits of cucumber n tomato that was on the lettuce!! Apart from that all was ok just ok n told the other assistant who gave me my bill BUT l will return

After 18 months of COVID lockdown this was one of the first family meals out and the team at the Kings Arms were great. The food was outstanding, the beer was well looked after and the total cost of drinks and food was half the price of a meal in Freshford, where we were staying. If I lived in Trowbridge, I’d become a regular. The only negative for someone not local was finding somewhere to park without a trek around the whole town.

Had a pint (or three) of real ale in here, the beer was in good condition and prices were amazingly cheap. A good mix of clientele as well - mostly younger and older customers as well, and the staff were really friendly. Getting hungry I ordered the Rib-eye steak and it was a decent size and really succulent. Overall excellent value and I shall definitely return next time that I am in Trowbridge knowing that I will get good beer and good food at reasonable prices.
