Lovely loose leaf proper tea, proper coffee, and great cakes. Genuine staff who obviously like working there. A better class venue than the other stock coffee outlets. Be aware, though, may be full due to its good value, take outs is an option.

First visit after hearing a few people tell me it's always awesome. They're right. Caught them running a very restricted menu, but had maybe the best couple of Chicken & Bacon sandwich I've ever tried, plus a rhubarb doughnut that my other half could only describe with 'Mmmmm-mmmm-mmmmm!' noises. 🤣 VERY busy, we lucked out finding a table for us just as we walked in, but I wouldn't count on it, might well be best to book if today is any indicator of the general level of trade. Lovely team of ladies running the place, all in good spirits and enjoying themselves, adds to the decidedly pleasant atmosphere in there. We'll be back for some eggs hollandaise of a morning, look forward to it!

We chose this cafe to meet with friends purely on trip advisor rating not being local. When we arrived there was a queue forming down the street! Luckily we were near the front and got a small table upstairs. The food was excellent!! We had lunch and then stayed for coffee and cakes chatting all afternoon. I've been raving about it since! Lovely cafe/coffee house style with delicious lunch/brunch menu....don't hesitate to grab a table if you can get one!

The fact there's often a queue outside waiting to get in says it all. I can't think of a cafe I've ever been to that's better and we're very lucky to have it in our town. It's not cheap but the food is fantastic, the staff work so hard to make sure you have a good experience and are all lovely. The quirky building adds to the atmosphere (there is an upstairs) and it's also dog friendly and can cater for gluten-free diets. Given the dinner reviews I think we'll need to try that at some point! Well done Sophie, Jamie and team!

Came here for lunch for first time today, having been to other tea room in Marlborough in the past (which we were consistently disappointed with). What a breath of fresh air Bunce’s was. The food was excellent. I had the BFC chicken burger. It was very tasty, prob one of the best chicken burgers I’ve had recently. We bought the Guinness chocolate cake to take away as it looked very good. Got home, and I can confirm it was as tasty as it looked. Lastly, I want to mention Georgie (I think was her name - Australian). Altho she wasn’t our direct server, the occasions she came to our table and engaged with my 6yr old son, and when we went to pay, we found her incredibly friendly and genial. She took a genuine interest to those she engaged with. Without doubt, she is a credit to the restaurant.

Lived in Marlborough 6 years now and only tried Bunce's for the first time recently. The queues out of the door waiting for a table always put me off being an impatient sort, so when I saw they weren't busy one particular day I decided to sit in for a sandwich and a coffee. What a delight! The service and bijou ambience of the place is lovely. As regards the principle reason to visit - the food, I won't reel off the menu but what I've sampled so far is first class, be it sandwiches, cakes or the rather spectacular double cheese burger. I feel extremely foolish at not trying Bunce's until now. 6 wasted years... <Facepalm>. Grit your teeth and join the queue. You won't regret it. A Marlborough gem.

The flavours were insane! While shopping with my little angel daughter at the charity shops in Marlborough looking for digital cameras, normally rich people give them away and sold cheaper prices than retail shop because they no longer need them since they have the latest technologies ie mobile, I-Pad you name it!!! Ok Bunces, so you're the most popular cafe in town - nailed it. However, it's time to evolve. Splashing out on lunch here rather than making it at home or picking up something from Waitrose left me flat today. Food is great but it wouldn't take much more to give me and your loyal customers the best experience . Particularly your upstairs is seriously lacking the cosy factor, despite all the bare bones including creaky wood floors and a fireplace begging for ANY decor/fairy lights at very least?! The cheap dirty pillows are just sad desperate pops of saggy colour, and the few wonky pictures hung are pitiful, don't even get me started on the fake plastic plants. Major let down on the cosy factor to match the calorific comfort food. Somebody call Mary Portas...

Customer service is clearly not a priority! Ate here with my friend and her baby this evening. Great setting but it was pretty cold inside. Ordered olives and hummus/bread sticks for starters and two pizzas. The pizzas were decent enough, the olives were not great, they were essentially cheap supermarket black olives. Service was good until we asked for our leftovers to be boxed up to take away, and the waitress came back to tell me they'd dropped my pizza on the floor, I'd only eaten half of it. They offered me a 10% discount off just my pizza which I said wasn't really proportional to the amount lost. A different waitress came back to say they were only 'allowed' to give me 20% off just my pizza. So I got £2.80 off for losing almost half of my pizza. I did argue this again when I went to pay but there was no budging and little remorse. They just didn't really seem to care. (I also don't understand how they did manage to save two tiny pieces of pizza for me when the whole plate was smashed on the floor? Makes me wonder if they just ate the rest of my pizza and lied about dropping it on the floor, also never heard a plate smash in the open kitchen, a mystery!) I think a manager is necessary on the shop floor rather than just the junior members of staff especially for a busy Friday night shift.
