We stumbled upon this beautiful cosy pub on a road trip home and we were absolutely blown away. Log burning fire, Chris the Landlord was an incredible host! He actually served us dinner early as the pub wasn’t busy… and what a dinner it was! Highly, highly recommend the home made pie. We can both honestly say it was the best pub dinner either of us have had. Dog friendly and board games too! Thank you!!

Fabulous little pub just a few minutes from the M4. Chose it just as a midpoint for our family group to meet for a new year dinner. Wonderful friendly staff, geat beer and delicious home-cooked food. The steak and ale pie was to die for.

Booked Sunday lunch for two. The roast lamb was very good, well presented and with separate dishes of nice vegetables. Asked for a little more gravy which arrived quickly. The sticky toffee pudding was excellent. Pricing about average, with good selection of Sunday roasts. The two young ladies who waited at table were superb. The main problem with this pub is that it lacks space and with most tables occupied one tends to feel 'crowded'. Nice atmosphere though. Outside toilets could do with a serious 'revamp'.

My friends and I recently dined at The New Inn, and we were absolutely blown away by the superb food and service we encountered. Alice, who attended to us, was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and well-versed with the menu, ensuring we had a truly memorable evening. Chef Lorraine was brilliant - such a find in a local pub. The dishes we sampled were simply exquisite. The Seabass was cooked to perfection and presented with finesse, boasting a harmonious blend of flavours that left us wanting more. We were also thrilled by the Pan Fried Monkfish tails on crushed new potatoes, which were so tender and flavoursome that we could hardly believe we were enjoying such a fine dining experience in a village pub. The atmosphere at The New Inn was electric, with a buzzing energy that created a warm and convivial ambience. We were so chuffed we took the time to discover this hidden gem, as it far exceeded our expectations and transformed a simple night out into an unforgettable experience. If you're ever in the area, don't miss the chance to visit The New Inn. I really liked this pub. The pie I had was great. It has that local pub feel and noise to it. You know the noise, the one of people laughing with friends and family from the village. It makes it a real pub. And not unwelcoming either, actually they were really welcoming, chatty and kind. I think the veg with the pie could have been a bit less cooked, but that's only a tiny critique. Otherwise, I could see myself growing old in this pub with good friends, food and ciders.

My husband and I care about local business we decided to support the new owners. Our evening meals: fish & chips and the other katsu chicken & chips plus a delightful cheese cake, faultless! I am disappointed to see someone write such a poor review when they don't have full factual history regarding the new owners ~ when the landlady has given up a commendable job within the NHS to learn a new role supporting her partner who has a solid history in cooking and hospitality - Life is about learning. My praises go to all staff at The New Inn who deal with a diverse array of personalities in an extremely professional manner.

I've lived in the area for over 6 yrars and used to avoid coming here as previous landlords I found to be very intrusuve & unprofessional but she is completely different. We sat in the garden & she had no problems adapting the adult menu for them. Yesterday for a second visit, I rang at 6.45pm for a takeaway and it was ready within 15 mins for collection for me & the kids. Cannot say a bad thing. The pie was proper & home made. Unfortunately under lockdown we were not able to dine in although we have had a Sunday lunch in the pub recently. The takeaway Sunday lunch was equally as good. We both chose the pork. There was plenty along with crackling, a good selection of veg, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravy and apple sauce. As we've been before our host Andy, pub landlord with his dry but comical rapport, showed us to our two tables being that there were 8 of us, came took our first round of the order of drinks with a charming brusqueness. There came the food order which when all piping hot came out at a reasonable time span, there was definitely no bad food served last night, but highly excellent good quality with the comically brusque attitude. With this there is a quality of good food, a good service and a good banter within the pub which can only be a reason to return to attribute more banter. The Chef, Lorraine is very good at producing excellent quality of food in this public house, well done. All of us last night had a memorable meal, thank you Lorraine. We shall be returning!!!!!!!!!.......

Customer service is clearly not a priority! Ate here with my friend and her baby this evening. Great setting but it was pretty cold inside. Ordered olives and hummus/bread sticks for starters and two pizzas. The pizzas were decent enough, the olives were not great, they were essentially cheap supermarket black olives. Service was good until we asked for our leftovers to be boxed up to take away, and the waitress came back to tell me they'd dropped my pizza on the floor, I'd only eaten half of it. They offered me a 10% discount off just my pizza which I said wasn't really proportional to the amount lost. A different waitress came back to say they were only 'allowed' to give me 20% off just my pizza. So I got £2.80 off for losing almost half of my pizza. I did argue this again when I went to pay but there was no budging and little remorse. They just didn't really seem to care. (I also don't understand how they did manage to save two tiny pieces of pizza for me when the whole plate was smashed on the floor? Makes me wonder if they just ate the rest of my pizza and lied about dropping it on the floor, also never heard a plate smash in the open kitchen, a mystery!) I think a manager is necessary on the shop floor rather than just the junior members of staff especially for a busy Friday night shift.
