Very good choice and quality food. Have been a few times now r the service is always unfriendly. Would come more often otherwise.

Lovely spot, staff very friendly and service was very good! However disappointed about the value for money, items on the brunch menu seemed expensive for what was described, I paid £12.95 for a tasty but very small brunch portion.

Great variety of foods. Particularly for the more health conscious and friendly staff. Dog friendly too!

Used to have antiques but alas no more ,shaggy chic if you know what I mean

Great pub, friendly staff, good beer, decent food.

I ordered a steak today and it was amazing and tender! I was able to meet the chef Charlie I think it was? Luckily was able to catch her as she went to the talk to the bar staff. And was able to pull her to one side where she told me she was the grill chef. Of which I told her that it was the best steak I’ve ever had! Absolutely amazing food!

I haven't been for years so sorry can't say for sure. There were lovely fields & waterways & a secret flower garden at the back, where we used to play, run around and explore as children while our parents & adult family drank and talked 🦜 inside but I'd like to revisit to see if it's still the same or changed :-) They do meals too

A real chill out pub in olde world gorgeous architecture (low ceilings, timber beams etc). Good decent stock of beers, lagers, wines etc. Pizza parlour has long gone but now replaced with pan-Asian food and really good, tasty food and simply but nicely presented. Give it a go, you’ll enjoy it. STOP PRESS! Sadly Shinsen have now moved on.Tthey should have received far more interest than they did. They also brought energy to the Bear. If you don’t support new independent ventures you risk losing them.

1.50 for a game of pool on cramped wonky tables & no chalk a bit much, nice atmosphere though

Visited on the 14/3/2024 Good atmosphere friendly service as under new management. Food ok for the price. Requires more attention to detail in regards to cooking process. Ordered hunter chicken and the Albion burger quite tasty. Side order of chicken wings which unfortunately were Under cooked to the point of blood laying in the serving dish. Otherwise ok. Trial and error.

Great atmosphere, pizzas are wonderful, does get busy in the evenings.

I had a family party here recently, and the staff were really helpful with the organisation. All the food was tasty, and the service really good. Our rooms were all very comfortable with tea/coffee and free sloe gin provided, and the breakfast was tasty. It's in a lovely location with good walking locally. Highly recommend.
