The Lions Den Cafe in Waverley

Friendly, warm & welcoming! Had a lovely family catch up at this little cafe and really enjoyed the experience. Staff were great and attentive and a lovely selection of pastries. Highly recommended!

Such a lovely place to go , comfortable with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are really nice and very child friendly. The food is excellent with a wide range of vegi options. My favourite place to go for brunch .

We ordered the full english breakfast and it arrived cold. It would have been a really nice breakfast if it was warm. It’s a shame and hoping when they open the one in midhurst the food will be warm

I went in a bit late, but thankfully they still accommodated me which was muchly needed and appreciated after a stressful day. I had the Simba smoothie which has pineapple, mango, Apple Juice and coconut. The straw a bit awkward, but the drink was absolutely delicious 😋 almost like a healthy milkshake I had the avocado, poached eggs and pinenuts on toast. Finally! A smashed avocado that is actually smashed whereas many places make it diced so the name is just confusing - this place did it right from service, to content 😄 Thank you for brightening my day Lion's Den Café 😄

We had the misfortune of ordering the poached eggs with guacamole on toast. The slice of sourdough toast was tiny and I would describe the guacamole as a spread rather than a topping. The poached eggs were hard. Overall the dishes lacked any flavour or seasoning. Considering these dishes are £9 each I would say poor value for money. Nobody bothered to find out how our meal was so I didn’t tell them.

Black hair within the veggie wrap. No follow-up, no apology, no discount (not that fussed on a discount, more a simple 'sorry about that' would've been great. We were really smiley about the hair as these things happen, no biggie, and then stunned at the disinterest). The meal was changed for one without hair. My meal wasn't great - I couldn't really eat it. I told the (a lovely one) waitress I am gluten free and she went and checked and said no worries, can do a gluten free wrap. Fab. After a while, another waitress comes and says can I eat the onion in the wrap, which may have touched gluten, and beetroot with barley. I say I'll scrap the beetroot but if only a tiny bit on the onion, that should be OK (I was planning to eat around any bits that had gluten, we were in a rush and just wanted lunch). Food shows up; there is loads of onion in the wrap and it is battered in flour. Can't see the actual onion, only the batter. That is not 'may be a bit' - that is full battered in flour. Couldn't eat it. Spent five minutes digging it all out. Rest of wrap was not tasty. Way too much sauce, a couple pieces of gherkin, lettuce and apparently seeds (didn't see any). Waitress came to give us our bill - a blonde lady who is consistently lovely, not guaranteed here - and we left. Never to return...the food quality and service is simply not very good. Coffee was delicious.

Met friends here for breakfast on Sunday. Couldn't fault the quality of the food, coffee and service. Relaxed atmosphere, will definitely return, as will my friends.

Fantastic independent cafe with beautiful coffee and the best food! All Greek inspired and freshly cooked. All of their options are amazing, especially their no meat burgers which fool even a meat eater like me! Would recommended to anyone. Best in Haslemere by far. They even replaced a flat white free of charge after I dropped it accidentally! Great staff so thank you!

I go here a lot with friends. I also got the take away breakfast last year for my mums birthday. I love it here! The waiters and waitresses are friendly and the milkshakes are delicious! A good selection of drinks and snacks too. Definitely would recommend!

Popped in while car was being serviced. Beautiful latte and. Divine sausage sandwich. Fresh local sausage was gorgeous but the star was the wondeful rustic bread and onion chutney Really good friendly service based in warm genuine smiles. Highly recommended

Been here a few times now and always enjoy the food - would recommend the Dirty Den toastie and also the sausage wrap! Indoors is very sweet and it’s great that they have expanded their outdoor seating. Plenty of tasty veggie options too!

We came here on a recommendation from a staff member at the music shop up the hill. It was nice to be able to support an independent business for once, as we usually end up in costa or somewhere like that. We had two hot chocolates and two dishes. The bacon sandwich had a very generous amount of bacon and was very warm. The hot chocolates seemed pricey (though we did go for the 'fully-loaded' option) but were quite nice. The meal turned out to be quite a lot as we probably could've done fine on a smaller amount of food. There were cakes at the counter but the staff didn't give us any information about them, and we didn't get enough time to look at them on the way in. The staff were otherwise quite lovely, and one in particular gave the young family next to us some plastic toys to keep their children entertained. The place was very well kept, especially the bathroom facilities in the back of the cafe.

We visited here with our daughter and my wife and our dog. They are very welcoming and the place was clean warm and comfortable.

Amazing smell of fresh coffee as you walk in. Service was great, staff very friendly and polite, food was excellent and the pricing is very reasonable. We'll be back!

The cafe opened for a special burger evening. This was the first time I've visited and have to say it's one of the nicest places I've eaten. Modern and interesting decor, good background music, great food and service with a friendly welcome. Not to be missed.

Amazing little find! Food was incredible and beautifully prepared. Even the humble toasted cheese sandwich came with an incredible onion chutney! Friendly staff, and definitely a sneaky stop just off the A3 in future!

Good selection for either breakfast, lunch or tea. I’ve had the all day breakfast a few times which is amazing, particularly the quality of ingredients as I think they are locally sourced.
