The Queens Head in Waverley

Attentive waiting staff, good quality food. We each had burgers which were excellent. The staff took my various allergies very seriously, even checking that I wouldn’t be eating any of my husbands starter as it included allergens. Saturday night visit does mean VERY loud women at the bar (close to the tables for food) which was not conducive to a relaxing meal but this can’t be helped by the staff. Just noting this for anyone else visiting on a weekend evening.

I was with a group of 12 and arrived at 12. We ordered our food and waited over an hour for our food to arrive. The roast beef was disappointing and beef was mainly grisly so couldn’t eat it. The potatoes were over cooked, the carrots were also over cooked and cauliflower cheese was awful. Everything was over salted and to top it all we were told we only had 30 minutes to order a pudding or coffee as they needed the table. My napkin was stuck to the table it was so dirty. The staff did there best but won’t return.

Despite booking the Sunday lunch , we did wait over an hour for our food without being pre warned. The roast was good, but it was salty so couldn’t eat it all. The staff were nice and good atmosphere in pub , it is also very busy so do you need to book.

We popped in for lunch and had toasties which were very good, the staff were very friendly and polite. Welcoming and friendly traditional pub.

Went on a Saturday night, very busy and loud (in a good way). Lots of locals and visitors like us. Food was good if a bit pricey.

Food was immense. The barman/owner/manager was great. Small group of 5 dad's and all our food was delicious and we were given table service which was possibly due to it being a Wednesday night and it being relatively quiet. I want to go back for more burgers.

Walked in today as fancied some food. Ordered a couple of drinks and asked for menus. Was told we couldn't have food as we hadn't booked! Some locals came in asked if they could have food and were handed menus. WILL NOT BE BACK!

Friendly and sociable. A few down to earth northerners like myself which gives it a gregarious atmosphere. Could do with getting rid of those reserved dining tables cos there's not enough room for us drinkers.

This is a lovely pub, we haven’t eaten here yet so can’t comment on the food. There’s a friendly atmosphere, good beer and live music.

Its a nice pub in a good location, but I must have sat at the bar for 10 mins this evening with an empty glass while the bar staff served the owners mates either side of me. I tried to get their attention multiple times but was just ignored, yet the second the people either side of me were running low they were offered another drink, ended up not having another beer and going home instead. I'll go to the craft beer place a few doors down next time.

This is a great little pub, shame it’s not bigger because it has everything: well kept beer (very good Guinness) and the best burgers in the area. Always a good welcome from friendly staff. Gets busy so you need to book evenings and even then can feel a bit cramped on a little table. Better idea is to gather 4 or 6 of you and reserve a bigger table. Regular bands on and, if you have the stamina, late licence on high days and holidays.

It really was a perfect Sunday lunch. Tasty and filling. We had the vegan option and it was fantastic. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Great little pub in the heart of Farnham.

Lovely first time, great waiting staff - they need a pay rise! Food also incredible - chefs need a pay rise too!

The best Sunday roast I have had in a pub for ages. Party of 6 of us and no complaints! Highly recommended! We had lamp and beef, and two had the vegetarian roast.

We came here for lunch on my brother's birthday. He doesn't like too much of a fuss and just wanted a nice lunch in a lovely pub. We hadn't booked but even though they were busy, they made space for us. Ordered burgers all round and they were delicious. Lovely bottle of wine and the churros were amazing.

We had an excellent lunch on a Saturday visit to Farnham. Our table was ready for us and I was pleased that we had booked because all tables were either reserved or in use! Our meals were excellent quality. Quality much above a regular pub but comfortably different to gastro pub. Wines by the glass also great. Service very prompt, polite and efficient with no rush. Strongly recommend.

I don't think I've ever been somewhere that wasn't exclusively (or almost exclusively) vegan with so many vegan options on a menu! So so impressed, and the food was amazing. Lovely atmosphere and 10/10 service - we were served by Tom if I remember rightly. Really grateful our friends suggested meeting here, and we'll definitely be back!

Great local pub. Dog friendly. Always excellent atmosphere and high quality food. Once in a blue moon you might be able to get a table as a walk-in, but if you are planning a visit then you should certainly book to avoid disappointment.

Our local pub, food always good, drinks great, awesome atmosphere. On our most recent visit, George in particular was fantastic, super friendly, working so hard and made for a good night.

We stopped in for our “usual”, which consists of 2 pints of London Pride and a Club Ciabatta with skinny fries. We were greeted warmly by Sam. We hadn’t been there for quite sometime but she always remembers us and knows exactly what we like. The pub was very busy with the lunchtime crowd but we received our order very promptly and it was delicious. We’ll be back!

Unfortunately another menu that has opted to serve the ‘fake meat’ vegans at the expense of proper vegetarian options - is possible to amend but nothing appealing for a true vegetarian

Listen, not many people know this, but if you like getting up close and personal with random people then come here on a Sunday. I like to come here sometimes and drink Guinness and feel other people’s jumpers without consequence. I feel I can be myself here.

Brilliant traditional pub with fantastic friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. The amount and quality of the vegan options is mind blowing and far exceeds the typical "one vegan burger and a chickpea curry" that you find in most pubs. The atmosphere is cosy and classically british. Dog friendly too! Best pub in the area in my opinion

Took the family for a roast dinner after a day in Farnham. The food was delicious! One of the best roasts I’ve had. The Christmas market was on, so it was particularly busy. Despite this the staff were so welcoming and attentive. Had a great experience and only have good things to say, highly recommend.

Real friendly traditional English gaff

My mother and I have just had the most delicious Full English Breakfast at the Queen's Head. Not only was the food cooked to perfection, the waiter was welcoming and attentive, and the second breakfast was half price. Wonderful!

Quite a small pub in the main part of town with not so many tables. It was quite frustrating to see many empty tables reserved. What’s the point on saving space for theoretical people rather than real ones in the pub spending money? The beer selection was good and the food looked nice. Couldn’t stay for food as the table we did find was needed for theoretical people half hour after we arrived for a drink. I hope they turned up. All in all, quite a nice old worldy pub, but a bit hostile for drop ins.

Often pop in when in town, live music is great, a mixture of young and not so young people go in there, which adds to a great vibe. We haven't tried any food yet but I believe it is really delicious, staff are great and work so hard. Queens Head thank for having us, we will be back soon 👏👏👏
