Great drinking pub and very friendly people all round 👍

Thank you to Kerry for welcoming us to the Crown and allowing us to visit on a trip to Charlton on Otmoor to research family history. The pub is lovely and full of history - although we had to be on the road back home by the time it opened for customers, I will be back as I need to bring my friend's whose family used to keep the inn back in the 1800s and will stay for a drink and soak up the atmosphere. Kerry was lovely to talk too and shared some stories about the pub, which was kind of her as she was getting ready to open. Based on meeting Kerry, I know you will get a great welcome at the pub.

Fabulous cafe, amazing food and lovely friendly staff. Great choice on the menu.Perfect place to meet friends for lunch.Also there is a lovely outdoor patio area.

If you’re staying in the hotel, make sure to book directly with them and not a 3rd party site as it seems the old owners are doing something dodgy - you will lose your money!! Despite the booking situation, I had an amazing experience at this lovely pub/hotel. The team couldn’t do enough to rectify the problem I had with the booking and they made sure I was comfortable throughout the stay. It’s a lovely homely environment in a beautiful little village with friendly locals! Would highly recommend and when I’m back in the area, I’d happily come back to stay :)

We had a lovely meal last week, sitting outside. The food was superb, and the service was efficient and friendly. I can recommend the home made nachos. Probably the best I’ve ever had! And a good choice of vegetarian dishes too. The place has a lovely atmosphere whether you’re going for a meal or just to enjoy a drink.

Quiz night and home-cooked curry. Wonderful food, great fun. Come and try it. First Friday of each month. Teams of 4. You will be very welcome to join in.

A variety of small food, desserts and drinks shops, an art gallery/shop run by artist himself, plenty of seating...nice.

Great local pub, menu is reliably excellent, generous portions, and any pub with Neil Young and Little Feat on their playlist gets a solid 10 from me. Onwards and upwards!

Popped by today, we were a group of 4, with 2 vegans in our party. Delicious food, friendly service. Recommended pub.

Another fabulous evening meal in the Lodge at the Muddy Duck. Lovely cheerful staff, prompt service and great food served hot as it should be. This is still the best pub for miles around and well worth a visit. The only negative is (still) the absence of a lovely welcoming fire. The room is begging for it.

Top notch food in a friendly little park cafe. Honestly above and beyond what you would expect from a small venue. Tom the owner is just lovely. They run occasional evening live music pop ups too which make for a fun evening. Thanks Tom and crew!
