I would rather never drink coffee again than have to be served by the owner of this place. I have never been spoken to so rudely by someone in customer service in my life. I suffer from 2 very serious diseases and kindly asked where she gets her milk from, because I don't want to have the Arla milk who give their cows Bovaer. Which may or may not do anything at all (I understand this), but I am trying my hardest to only put into my body what I am comfortable putting into it. Anyway when I asked this question I was abruptly told " what you mean the additive that disappears before it even gets to the milk, and an eye roll. Then she slammed down the milk she uses and walks away. Turns out she uses Morphets milk which is is a local organic farm, so that would have been absolutely perfect! I understand that it is a personal choice of mine about the milk and all my other dietary requirements that I live my life by, but when I am fighting two cancers I do not expect to be treated like a piece of dirt for a simple question. Horrendous customer service skills and glad I handed no money over to her.

What a find! We popped in on the hop. Really good service. Beautiful food. Daughter had the kids mini afternoon tea. Really nice portion. We had quiche and toasties. Came with salad and coleslaw. All homemade and really tasty. Will definitely be back.

What a delightful and pleasant experience eating lunch at this dog friendly cafe yesterday. The staff were so friendly, attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious - we ordered three full English breakfasts - but there was an extensive menu on offer. The food was served piping hot, including the toast! Thank you for making our first ever visit to Kendal such a treat.

Last time I was in Farrer's was in 1985 just to buy some coffee! Fast forward 2025, this amazing, historic Kendal institution is still going and super popular! Lakeland tea blend, whole leaf with individual strainers - extra water, milk or lemon - superb! Great old fashioned selection of cakes...young staff, friendly, efficient and cheeky banter...surroundings are atmospheric, very step back in time...recommended! Also recommended is the comprehensive history of John Farrer Coffee Roasters on the net.

Good service with friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was great, tables clean and cleared quickly. Light and airy place which was busy and seemed to be a popular spot for locals. Clean and w/c accessible. Central to the town.

Me and my husband called in for a coffee last Sunday whilst shopping in Kendal. Suffer with MS and suffer with shakes. The staff Jude and Lexi were quick to to identify I had a disability and went out of their busy way to assist me with carrying my tray outside as we had our dog with us. We were served lovely HOT coffee and were left to enjoy our visit. Even when we finished again they brought our dirty tray inside for me. The place was spotless and the staff were overwhelming helpful. Best Nero cafe we have visited. Superb staff and very accommodating. Definitely will visit again whilst visiting Kendal Thankyou š
