Great staff and service. Coffee good, usually have coffee and toast in morning. Very enjoyable and served with a smile

Professional friendly staff, all drinks made just right and the decorations are gorgeous, highly recommended.

My wife and I popped in for a mid morning treat. The parking is free and plentiful, atmosphere is good, the food is good, the staff and friendly, but the service isn’t very fast and they need to do something about cleaning up tables between customers. It could have been that they were sort staffed on that morning so we’ll have to try again another day. Overall, I’d recommend popping in, just take a pack of wet wipes with you in case you need to do a little cleaning.

The three young guys behind the counter on top form this morning (22nd Nov). I'm not from here and just observed over my coffee them greeting people by name, knowing customers usual orders, friendly banter. I was in for half an hour, coffee was typical Costa fare but I quite enjoyed watching these guys work together. Brightened my morning really.

Coffee is well made here. Staff is very welcoming and polite. The person who was cleaning the floor was so patient. After they cleaned the floor and bathroom customers were continuously stepping on the wet floors but they kept on cleaning the surface, such politeness and dedication is really appreciated 😊

Great welcome even in a queue ,acknowledging my arrival. Clean environment , friendly, fun ( clearly enjoying their role) very efficient and attentive staff, relaxing and a great atmosphere . Very skilled baristas and a lovely farewell also , definitely recommend 🙌

Th costa in kendal is rubbish and the staff are not nice refusing our Dog. Unlike other costad arround our local area. Would not reocmmend any animal lovers go there. We went to cafe nero who were extraordinary accommodating and even gave our pup a pupachino....

My regular coffee stop over 9 years. Recent staff changes finding their feet alongside a few more experienced staff.

It's a costa, you know what to expect.

All we wanted was a coffee and a seat whilst we consumed it. Instead we got caught up in your staffing drama and had to rely on the kindness of a fellow customer who noticed my partner had a baddie leg. Urghhh.

Costa is good. You know what you are getting and it's of ok quality. I do mostly like to surport small local cafés, but Costa is quick and easy

After ignoring us the young lady was rude. We placed our order to be told no cash cards only! Our cash and custom departed !

Has Costa prices, Costa menu but long queues, 10 minute wait for a drink?! It's a pretty narrow cafe and has steps going into the counters. Menus are awkwardly placed.

I ordered through uber eats paying extra for priority and it was delivered half an hour late, as well as unlabeled food items, ordering both a ham and cheese toastie and a vegan ham and cheeze. Neither were labelled and it appears that 2 of the same sandwich where sent, and as I have a bad reaction to meat it meant I couldn't risk eating it. And for both the hot chocolates ordered, we paid extra for flakes and received none making this an awful experience.

Normal service good value for money

Quite a while to clear tables. Whilst there tables were cleated but surfaces not wiped over.

Rude staff ignored me. The counter has two Covid protective serving spaces. The first space was unstaffed, the second space had a staff member serving, I moved up, and a staff member came from the back and ignored me and served the women behind me. At this point 2 staff were serving one person, whilst I stood waiting politely to be served. Eventually lost patience and asked the women making coffee if I could be served? She was surprised and called over a male member of staff to serve me. Rather than apologising, he stated ‘you order at the first window/hatch’ with a look of contempt for my lack of understanding! I pointed out politely that there was no notice informing customers of this - he redoubled his look of contempt, ignored my comments and rudely stated ‘do you want to order anything’? Very disappointing experience.

You know you are in trouble when the young costa guy at the other till fixes his stare on the wall in front of him so not to have any eye contact and then waits for someone to fill the space. As he then started to serve the latest customer one of gaggle of Costa girls appear from behind a door and announce that our till isn't open. We now join the other queue and wait to see if we will be served? The two cheese toasties and two cappuccinos were obviously fine which proves that the microwave and coffee machine works but does make you wonder about the operatives. These guys have attitude!

Costa is a relaxing place to work or read.Somr cakes were on a special deal and you can get a green bean at the moment with your own cup. This doubles your points. The staff and friendly and there were enough tables to sit down at. İ had a relaxing read and will call in again.

The staff are Always very welcoming, fast service, fantastic coffee. The sausage buns are also lovely

Not a fan of their coffee. No taste. However, as I have a free voucher I'll go. The staff in the past have always been friendly and efficient. Neros is just across the road.

This morning it took 24 minutes to get served one coffee. Yes 24 minutes! 8.20am. Despite there being 3 staff on; a man and a girl hiding in the service area talking or fiddling with leaflets and one girl taking orders and making drinks, service has never been so bad and its usually pretty rubbish. A queue of 7 people still did nothing to bring a 2nd staff member out of hiding to serve, and neither did losing 4 of those customers. Eventually, 23 minutes into my wait, the hiding girl sauntered out casually and took the next customers order, no apologies, no explanation. We had wrongly assumed that only one out of three staff present could use the machine. Totally unacceptable to keep customers waiting unnecessarily. Get your act together of I'll be off to Nero. A lot of disgruntled customers this morning.

I go into the Kendal branch of Costa at least once a week and the service, which has never been much good, just gets worse every week. The area manager really needs to look into the performance of this shop.

Having a few days away and popped into Costa in Kendal.. Ordered Hot Chocolate.. Might have been chocolate but definitely not Hot.. Luke warm was the best. The place was scruffy and no atmosphere.. Would not recommend or visit again

Lovely, cosy, and helpful Staff

I really appreciate the hard work they put in with only 4 people and after the queuing they made our Toasties and coffees almost instantly very pleasant staff and a good atmosphere only 3 days till Christmas and they were still going even with lots of people the business there was sorted with extra tables added they solved all the problems and unlike some places I go to they got me and all my friends's orders correct

This is a great place, uness you are on your own and in a mobility scooter, as none of the staff come outside and offer to serve you. Very disappointing on this level, as there are many tables outside.

Amazing strawberry cooler, brilliant staff really well run establishment. Regular visitor , top customer service everytime.

Sat outside with our little dog and ordered the lunch special of a toasties flat white, latte and packet of crisps. All for only £4.95 a head. Great value and service was prompt and friendly.

Excellent service although very busy.

Went in to Costa @ 1:50 when visiting Kendal today. There were a few pieces of a cake and a muffin, only one piece of Bakewell slice on the counter but no other slices out. Never seen a Costa with such a poor shortage of eats and only one member of staff on. We were disappointed as Costa is our “go to” but we left and went elsewhere today!

Having to queue for almost 30 minutes, clear your own table then having to wait for your sandwiches to be cremated (overlooked making them rock hard), we had to remind the staff member he had not given us our cakes. There were only two members of staff on duty who were doing their best and were very apologetic, I can honestly say this was our worst ever coffee shop visit to any brands outlet. We should have gone to Cafe Nero but chose to stay loyal to Costa Coffee. I would not return to this outlet again.

Before heading back to our hotel we decided to grab a hot drink , I had my normal soya latte and my husband was able to have a hot chocolate made with lactose free milk .

Been a while since we've been in here, staff were very pleasant and helpful, the place was much cleaner than our last visit, tables cleared and clean as was the place in general. Cake was good and all at a price which is costa price. Pretty good and central to Kendal, Coffee was good as was the hot chocolate. A typical Costa style inside.

Reliable venue for a warming drink and a comfy rest.

There is no better way to kick start the day other than a nice refreshing cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream from Costa, its in a great location and is definitely worth the money for what you receive.

Good coffee great staff very helpful

Called in on 17th May 2018 for mid morning coffee. Premises are very basic with poor quality furnishings and cramped space. Staff were friendly but the drinks were nothing special.

We had cappuccino on two days in this shop, on both occasions the coffee was too cool and the amount of coffee in the cup once the foam subsided was like, half a cup of coffee. These were supposed to be large coffees, we felt very cheated. Also the state of the toilet was disgraceful. These should be checked on a regular basis, I'm sure if health and safety were to visit, these toilets would not pass their inspection

I agree that the prices can seem a bit steep if you are buying for more than 1 person, but there's plenty of choice food & drink wise it's extremely popular with people from all walks of life.

Staff are friendly, place is well maintained just a little crafty and coffee was not really hot enough.
