Nina's Coffee Shop in South Lakeland

I always visit when in Kendal. Staff arevall welcoming. Food is all fresh and delicious. Tea and coffee always hot .excellent jeep up the great work.

Great selection of pastries etc as well as bacon baps etc. on offer for breakfasts. Wide choice of cakes. We were not there for lunch but the options looked extensive - and for the most part very reasonably priced.

Lovely cafe with a variety of food selection and lots of seating available. Staff were very friendly, and the cafe was busy which is a good sign! We had coffee and muffins, and both were really good. The muffins were sweet but not sickly which made them more enjoyable Would definitely come back here

The best ice coffee shakes in Kendal. Great selection of pastries, muffins, sandwiches, panini and a nice local cafe. Highly recommend

Had a banana and a strawberry ice cream milkshake. Not nice - tasted cheap and a saccharin kind of taste. Thought I’d try a local little shop but wish I hadn’t bothered

Chose here rather than the chain coffee shop nearby and it was a great choice. The coffee was good and the warm muffins were delicious. There seemed to be a wide variety of sandwiches, rolls and other items. It was very clean and the staff welcoming

What a lovely place with lovely staff. We visited while on holiday and they were incredibly kind and generous when they learned my daughter's name is Nina. Five stars :)

We had delicious coffee and muffins, raspberry and double chocolate. Reasonably priced and served by friendly staff in a nice clean space.

Had a ham and cheese salad sandwich and soup. Friend had a breakfast! Coffee and pop ! The ham was on the turn and looked grey and pink 🤢so left it on side of plate .ate the bread and dipped in soup .soup was ok . Salad was limp ! Breakfast looked really poor ! I wouldn’t have eaten it ! We gave it a chance ! We won’t be back!

We ordered 3 iced coffees and a milkshake. My daughter had drunk a quarter of her large milkshake and said it didn't taste right. I tasted it and it did have a strange taste, didn't smell too good either. I gave it to a member of staff and said it tasted and smelt off, a few moments later she came back and said the manager said the milk was in date and because a quarter had been drunk, I could not have a refund!! I never asked for a refund, an offer of another drink would have done. I told her to put in the bin. Poor customer service, would not visit again.

Had a almond croissant (stale) and a vanilla milkshake (strange taste). Took the milkshake back and had a latte instead, unfortunately that didn't taste right either. Would not recommend.

Excellent muffins and sandwiches, and it's a lovely spot to sit outdoors in the sun, even in winter.

Walked by this coffee shop so many times but never stopped. Ordered coffees and a muffin yesterday. Reasonably priced and the best muffin ever. Will not pass by again!

This was a welcome refuge on a wet shopping morning. The staff were friendly, vacated tables were cleaned promptly and the muffin was so tasty it was a shame to finish it. Highly recommended.

We go here regularly and it's still a very good cafe, very friendly staff good grub and clean. Wheel chair accessable. Good selection of muffins,cakes, pies ect. Worth a visit for a lite bite in the centre of Kendal.

Lovely place. Owner and staff are so friendly, the service is amazing. Great products and very good value for money. The muffins are delicious.

It is hard to impress me, & whilst this obviously no Michelin starred establishment, purely based on a service to cost ratio, it is absolutely deserved of a high rating. Whist the gentleman on the till appeared oblivious to the necessity of providing a gluten free platter, it was rapidly clear that the people behind the scene knew what was required and delivered without any complaint. On top of that, I genuinely could not believe the prices

Just stopped for a coffee and thought this was a great cafe. The choice of cakes was great especially the different types of muffins so we bought 12 assorted to take back for our friends - 8 of us in total. Superb service and a clean and Covid safe cafe, thank you.

Always call here for a coffee and muffin when in Kendal. Excellent fresh coffee and freshly baked cakes and sausage rolls etc. Definitely one to try rather than the more expensive mainstream coffee shop next door

Had a trip to Nina’s today. Staff were so friendly and following all the rules. Food was very tasty and excellent value for money. Will definitely be going back.

Terrible shame about this place because it was lovely and clean BUT: Social distancing with the tables was not correct. The owner was sat at the top of the cafe giving directions and orders to the staff. Overheard him criticising a customer's choice of food....

Popped in here after a long walk from our caravan site in End Moor. We were dying for a coffee ! This was the best Cappuccino myself and my husband have had for a long time ! Proper coffee, well done !

Stopped in here for a coffee while visiting Kendal today. Cafe is Lovely and clean and was welcomed with a nice smile from the waiter / barista behind the counter. The main attraction here was that it was dog friendly ( we took shelter from the cold wind) . We had a tea and a large latte, cost £4 cheapest couple of drinks we have had out and about for a long while. Both were very nice so all was good , cafe was reasonably busy so probably testament to the prices. All the sandwiches and buns , cakes looked nice and well priced. Will definitely visit again and would advise anyone after a pit stop to do the same . Nice one.

Average coffee, fair enough, but when I asked the long-suffering cashier for a glass of water to go with, she said, "No, I am not allowed." "What?" "They want you to buy bottled water." Amazing. We came here to avoid the greed of the big tax-dodgers like Costa and Nero- even they would give you a glass of water with a purchase.

£12 odd for 2 "mega breakfasts" which consisted of sausage bacon, toast, egg and beans. No mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, black pudding. This is HALF a breakfast. It was ready in about 2 minutes flat so it's not even cooked fresh wasn't that great. Staff very pleasant and drinks were fine but nothing good about the food I'm afraid. What a shame

We have been to several coffee shops in Kendal and this is by far the best. Extremely clean and efficient with friendly staff, great coffee and fabulous food and muffins. Will always go back there.

Called on Sunday 1st time and what a lovely place. Staff friendly nd food tasty nd drinks great value. Nice seating area outside in square with parasols when sun shines. Very clean cafe nd well presented/ well ordered counter.

We only stopped for drinks and chose to sit outside in the little square. The service was nice and friendly and the place was very clean.....including the toilets. The cakes looked really good but we only had coffees which were good value.

Lovely weather during our visit so wanted to sit outside somewhere. An abundance of cakes here, also selling gluten free which was great. Coffee better tasting than 'chainstore', lovely personal service with friendly staff. Clean tables, lovely atmosphere. Lovely fresh baked cakes. Will visit again

Love this place. Casual, relaxed, good value and great muffins and breakfasts. Cosy and comfortable inside, even welcoming dogs. Outside is a lovely little suntrap great for people watching.

Dropped in for a light bite, drink and a cake - lovely staff, reasonable prices and excellent food. I can’t understand why people would go to the chain coffee houses when this place is located in their midst.

Called in for lunch during our weekend break to Kendal. Cheese and onion pasty and chicken and mushroom pie (both heated up for us) were very good and great value. Would recommend.

Me and my partner had a drive out to Kendal for a walk along the river and a quick browse in the shops. We always seem to be stuck for somewhere to eat in Kendal that's not Morrisons, McDonald's or KFC, I've never really been recommended any places to eat in this area. There are some nice looking cafes but we tend just to venture in for a drink rather than food. Today we decided to try Nina's cafe as it looked quite busy (always a good sign) and it had some good meal deals on.

This is a good coffee shop with very friendly staff and decent food. Good selection of cakes, sarnies hot food etc. all at affordable prices. Great service and staff always on the ball, tables cleared quickly, they never seem to walk past an uncleared table back to the kitchen. Very popular with locals as it's central to Kendal.

i always love visiting Nina's on a Sunday as there is always a really relaxed vibe in the air, whenever i visit i must admit im provided with incredible customer service from start to finish. And if you do visit i insist you try one of their cupcakes my personal favourite has got to be double chocolate chip it is absolutely Lush.

Found this great cafe on a dreary Sunday morning on the first day of our holiday.

Use this place regularly, it's always busy and the food and cakes are great. Service is spot on and the staff very helpful and pleasant. It's a bright and clean place with old pics of Kendal. Stop off for a brew on a day out, staff are lovely and friendly. We didn't eat so not sure what the food was like but given that it was very busy it's obviously a popular place and would recommend giving it a go.
