Good food and nice atmosphere. Inside modern industrial decor and pleasant friendly crowd. Nice to start the evening outside on the terrace in the sun with river views. Convenient for London city airport too.

Lovely friendly staff. Great vegan option & good value for money. Beautiful views across the wetlands. Hard to believe it's London

They charged us £6.50 for a 0% Guinness and £4.05 for a lemonade. The bill was £10.55 for two soft drinks - total rip off. When I queried it with the bar staff he just shrugged and looked away.

Hadn’t expected all this on the inside of a traditional looking London pub in EC2A on the corner of Tabernacle St. Came in for a cold swift half amongst a combination of city guys in pressed navy suit trousers with shaft white open necked shirts rubbing up again a cluster of builders or repairer from the mass of close developments. This was another pub when I would have delighted in the full on experience of an hour or so but pressures dictated moving on to business close by. Pity also that I couldn’t sample the delights of an open day at the John Wesley house nearby where all the staff and enthusiasts were fully dressed in Georgian(?) apparel and coaxing anyone remotely curious into full on tours. Or so I was targeted by a female in full garb at the bar in the pub.

£ 7 . 40 para dos babyccinos. No capuchinos. Babyccinos.

(scroll on if you don't like people who get personal in their reviews or long reviews in general) Figured they are going to be hit with some negative reviews post subscription cancellation, so wanted to leave this now! Wanted to say a big shout-out thank you to pret in general for the creation of the subscription during covid, And at a time when I was pregnant and with a baby daughter. I don't think the staff here realised how important this branch was to me and to many others during this time. I will explain why. The subscription created a lovely locals atmosphere, Where the staff and fellow guests would recognise each other. In the absence of pubs, And only being allowed out briefly once a day for exercise, some days like many - The Pret staff were the only people that I interacted with other than my partner. They made sure to ask me how my pregnancy was coming along, and always recognised me each morning. Richmond Pret is my home from home. The staff, especially Steffi, Phil, Phil's girlfriend & the funky, short haired cat loving person that works as barista, are super friendly. ((I want to point out that this is something specific to this branch of Richmond as other prets I've been in do not have this Vibe, especially Twickenham branch, (Where I find the manager there specifically very grumpy, rules-sticklery and computer says no-y, Even if the staff are gorgeous)) When my daughter arrived, we had beef kept in hospital for 9 days due to complications, and our first tentative trip out, was down the road to our local Pret, Where we were welcomed by the Staff, as if celebrities, all full of smiles and love for the new baby. Grandparents were Not allowed to visit and didn't feel comfortable coming to London, So to have some other people share the moment was very lovely. Pret provided lovely respite as a newborn mum to get out and see the world be around other people, In those first tough few months. Having the subscription almost forced you out the house as you didn't want to waste it, So it was great for my mental health as a newborn mother. When she was 2 months I felt comfortable to re start my writing, And I would work in this branch, In between breastfeeding - And not once did I feel judged by either the staff or the patrons for breastfeeding in public. As she got older the staff began to say hello to my daughter by name, and would often give her complimentary gingerbread. Sometimes they even took her hand and showed her how the packing area to take away worked, so that I could go to the bathroom on my own.Now she Is at babychino age (I still struggle to say that as a northerner, I think it's the most Southwest London thing ever, Well, aside from when Willow was crying for salmon in waitrose, that is 🤦😜), They are happy to make her one in a flat white cup to prevent spillages and even do another one The lovable little Madam wants two. Literally just the most supportive & lovely atmosphere, To a mum with a baby and a toddler. I had separated from the father of my kid when she was 2 months old, a mutual decision but nonetheless tricky - And having somewhere to go into to see familiar faces, And have a routine was particularly helpful to me. I think it's important to note as well that one of the core values of this chain - being called, ready to eat - is the speed of service - Something that this branch is really good at, unlike others. I know I can go in here with a train in Richmond station in 10 minutes and be out in time which is important to me as somebody with ADHD always late and to Londoner in general who wants things done quickly. I get very frustrated in other branches when I go in and they are behaving as if they are in a village up north or something With their speed of service. Even if there is a big in this branch, it moves quickly because the staff are efficient,or they call somebody out to assist them. I know pret have had a lot of flack in the press recently over their prices, And I do agree prices need to be lowered. I think that is why they are getting rid of the subscription to make it more accessible to everybody, To be able to achieve this without losing too much revenue. But I Just wanted to leave this positive review of this particular branch, And say thank you in advance to the chain for the wonderful subscription. And what it meant to me specifically during the COVID period. Thank you Pret Richmond team Emmy, ❤️ Apologies for any typos or grammatical errors from the voice to text software and my laziness to correct them. It's the only way I can get anything done as a busy working Mum... .

Very disappointing. We were a group of 6 family members looking for a hot drink stop mid morning before watching a play at The Compass Theatre over the road. We were going to go to Costa just three doors down, but thought we’d support local and sat on their outside seating at Maison du Soleil. We had never been before and sadly will not be returning. We went inside to order some hot drinks and were abruptly told by the man behind the food bar to go sit back outside as they would come to us. So we did. We waited 10 mins with no one coming and went back inside to ask if we could order some teas and coffees and were once again very abruptly told someone would come and take our order and to go back outside. Another 10 minutes went by of being ignored and half of our group were tempted to leave, but we went inside, ordered at the desk, made a point that no one had come, and a slightly flustered waitress apologised. We then waited another 15minutes for 2 cups of tea, 2 hot chocolates and 2 coffees to arrive. The hot chocolates were cold and the coffee not very nice. The milk for the tea was longlife UHT. Basically, I wouldn’t bother going here, abrupt staff, not well managed and poor “hot” drinks. Just go to Costa.

Had roast,. Nice atmosphere and plenty of space. Food a little underwhelming and bland. Would go back for drinks only.

Discovered the Anya Hindmarch Cafe when the Ice Cream project was launched. I have been meaning to dine there because they have all the classic English biscuits and treats like bourbon, digestives, party rings, before dinner mint thins and even Wagon wheels. The cart wheel aka Wagon wheel is probably the most sophisticated one because it has marshmallow, jam, biscuit components so tried that. It was literally the best wagon wheel ever because the chocolate was so good and the marshmallow had a lovely chew to it. The biscuit texture was crumbly and wheaty while the jam had a good kick. I know you can probably get three packs for one of these but these are seriously amazing. The only gripe was that they ran out of the cookie/biscuit served with coffee which has a King Charles postage stamp on it that is edible. On the first day of the Ice Cream project, I wanted to try all flavours which was the new ice cream set where you try all flavours, however they were not ready for it yet so I had to get the ice creams directly from the shop which I don't mind but again they are not equipped for ice cream enthusiasts/foodies who want to buy all flavours as they don't even have trays or bags to facilitate this.
