Maison du Soleil in Hillingdon

Visited here today with my partner, we both had food and coffee. I ordered a cortado and matcha latte, both were incredible. Best coffee I’ve had in a very long time! Food was hot and delicious, lots of choice on the menu. Staff were pleasant and attentive to our every need. Very homely environment. If your in the area, make sure to check it out; you won’t be disappointed! We will be back!

How dismal this place was. Service quite atrocious- completely disorganised, uninterested and unfriendly staff. We had to wait to get the menu and then ordered drinks and food. Waited again for the coffee and tea. The cafe was fairly empty yet we then had to wait 32 minutes for a panini and fajita. We only got the food by attracting the attention of a waitress who mumbled excuses. The place is resting on it’s laurels.

The best Coffee shop for a selection of quality offerings. Spotlessly clean environment & child friendly. Water always provided for dogs outside.

Decent cafe in Ickenham high street. Much available for lunch as well as cakes etc. A energetic young team.

Constructive feedback for the owners. My wife and I took a day trip to Ickenham today and decided to visit your cafe rather than the corporate behemoth that is Costa Coffee three doors down. As an independent cafe we anticipated that the product offering would be superior to your closest competition. We were wrong and left very disappointed. We had the tuna panini and the chicken piri-piri panini. The tuna melt was lacking in mayonnaise and the chicken piri-piri lacked any flavour but was very spicy - I should have chosen something else, my bad. The coffee was poor and when we ordered our second coffee instead of getting a cortado a latte was delivered. After the disappointment of the sandwiches we couldn’t be bothered to complain and left crest fallen. You really need to differentiate yourselves from Costa Coffee. The food offering is unimaginative and lacked any flavour. Please ask yourself what is your unique selling proposition. Next time I’ll be going to Costa, and I hate Costa.

Best cafe in and around Ickenham, food and drinks very good, nice atmosphere inside and outside. My only gripe is that it closes too early in the afternoon, my kids would love to come for a cake after school, but it seems to be closing around 3pm.

Great " fresh food " always served promptly & with a smile from the staff. Value for money for sure, that is evident as it is always well patronised.

Have been coming with a friend for sometime. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience today. We found the staff very unfriendly. Lacked customer service. Our order was Tea and scrambled eggs on toast. Firstly the tea appeared to be water. This was bought to their attention. We thought they had forgotten to put in the tea bags. The scrambled eggs looked like they had seen better days. My friend's toasted bread was burnt which was bought to their attention. We paid in full and left but we do believe we will not go back. What a shame.😢

We've visited many times, staff not particularly friendly but the coffee and food is delicious. My only complaint is that since lockdown on 5 occasions I've tried to visit, have been told they are closing early due to shortage of staff. This seems to be a regular thing so why don't they update their website accordingly! It's frustrating when we turn up with our grandchildren, promising cake, and are turned away! Rude and unapologetic.

This has outdoor seats and is I assume a famly run business. They are friendly but not intrusive, the coffee is always excellent and they have delicious cakes. 100% good to go there.

Pleasant, open to sit inside now , went on lockdown reopening, although they have no bathroom facilities , meaning visit had to be shorter!

Pleasant atmosphere and comfortable. Very nice cup of coffee. Seats inside and outside. Friendly staff who make time to chat with the customer.

A quaint small coffee house in Ickenham. Always a warm welcome and service with a smile. Coffee and specialist teas are great. A wide selection of lunch time snacks are available.

Lovely cafe. They have outside seating too. Toilets on the same floor. Coffee is very good for the area and staff are attentive. Breakfast is very good and I can see why it’s always busy

The food and coffee served here is above average, however my main gripe with this establishment is that it closes early. The proprietor will advise you that Maison du Soleil is open to 4 p.m. ... however judging from past experience, as soon as trade dries up sometime mid-afternoon, Maison du Soleil can close anytime shortly after 3 p.m. - especially from Monday to Thursday. For example I arrived about 3:20 p.m. last Monday hoping for a coffee, only to be told by the proprietor's son that Maison du Soleil had already closed for the day.

I tend to go to local businesses as it gives me the opportunity to give back to the community. The cafe menu has a good selection of food and drinks. Service is friendly and efficient too.

This cafe is delightful, soft music, good food and service. A very pleasant and relaxing experience.

Fabulous pastries, especially the morning bakes, fresh and warm, absolute bliss. The menu is varied with a continental twist, and the service is great. The best cafe in Ickenham and Ruislip, just look out for the lovely planted pots and the awning. Great place, and an asset to the village.

Very busy with great atmosphere. Friendly service and good choice of great food. Interesting decoration, clean toilets.

What a lovely place for a hot chocolate and something to eat. Very competent and friendly staff. A lovely ambience. Really worth a visit.

Met a few friends there for a coffee catch up. The manager is so damn rude I couldnt believe it. One of my friends who is also a nan had her grandson asleep in his buggie. They would not allow her inside the coffee shop with a buggie and didnt even want her sat outside. We all left and walked down to the Tich a few doors down

Always good service here! Regularly visit with family. Great for brunch. Would recommend! (Especially with their being a costa just down the road now - which is so slow #supportlocal )

Very friendly staff, lovely cafe for a catchup or breakfast. The only tip I can give is to stir the cofffee if you ordered syrup, I forgot and all the syrup was in the bottom LOL. Will definitely go back here as their scones are fab!

We are regulars at this place however today we had a terrible experience. We ordered the drinks and the sandwiches. It took them 20 minutes to bring the drinks then we waited for another 20 minutes hoping that the food would arrive. What is absolutely infuriating is that the owner ( who has to be the most miserable person alive ever, I have to agree with another reviewer here) looked at us several times as if he was wondering whether we'd order something. He could have checked with us. We looked back at him feeling very annoyed. Then the person who took the order came to our table with the food that had been ordered by another customer. What is even worse is that she asked twice as if we were unsure of what we had ordered! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! It is upsetting as our little girl was hungry and I feel that they are very rude and heartless to have not even apologised when my husband went to the till to pay for the drinks.

Went there with my husband I could tell immediately customers were irritated as I overheard one saying they hadn't had a menu yet in an annoyed way. Waited a while for a menu which my husband went and got. Took ages to order took ages to receive coffee. My husband got his meal first I never received mine saw people who came after me get their order. After an hour you lose patience so we left. It's a shame. Nice place but service needs to be improved.

This place is almost a hub for Ickenham and during the hours it is open attracts alot of custom. We used to go here alot, as it is a nice venue and the coffee is good - but, the service is often brusque and the food is mostly limited to baguettes/toasties/cakes or limited microwaved 'warm' options.

Can't believe this place seems so popular. Miserable looking guy who I heard called Carlos is supposed to be front of house. He is undoubtedly the rudest individual I have dealt with in s long time.

Pure quality at this coffee/tea shop, and very reasonable prices. Service is friendly and efficient. Plenty of choice, with something to suit all tastes. Not surprising it is always busy.

I love this place. I have a chronic illness and use a walking stick. One day I was very hungry but felt vey unwell and wanted to eat and drink outside in my car. One of the staff was so very helpful. He offered to bring the bagette and tea out to me in the car which I was so appreciative off . Subsequent visits have proved enjoyable and whenever I'm in the area, I always call in for my lunch.

Visited here for Sunday brunch. Busy but managed to sit 5 of us. Waitress attentive. Coffee v tasty and the scone was one of the best i have had..well worth trying

What a beautiful and lovely cafe right in the heart of Ickenham. I was so pleasantly surprised immediately as I walked through the door not only by the ambience and beautiful artistically decorated walls full of art and paintings but also by the unique approach from one of the members of staff behind the counter. As I stood there expecting to order my drink and then find a seat according to the usual approach in high street cafe chains instead I was asked if I was looking to have something to have here and when I said yes the staff very kindly invited me to find a table and sit and said someone would be with me to take an order very shortly.

Run by a lovely chap who is there most of the time and obviously cares...! Good wraps, paninis and very decent coffee. Only problem is there is often a queue....but then it ain't Greggs and they make everything to order, so worth the wait IMO.

This is such a cute quaint little cafe, makes a lovely change from all the generic high street chains! They do good coffee and my wife's toasted croissant was delicious! Probably slightly more expensive then your average coffee shop, but we all like a treat sometimes

I love this place! I have coffee and breakfast here almost almost every week. I sit on my own and read my book, the staff are attentive but not intrusive and I never feel hurried even when it's a bit full. The owner Carlos knows so many of his customers and you always feel welcomed. The coffee is good and the sandwiches/wraps etc are all freshly made and the cakes are delicious. If you are in our village, you should stop by.

We visited for breakfast following a favourable comment from a friend on facebook. This place was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and had a nice ambience. Albeit we visited on a midweek day with few people therein we can imagine that its is very busy on a Saturday morning. The staff here were very polite and attentive.

Quick, friendly, knowledgeable service. Welcoming atmosphere, with tasty food provided quickly. Highly recommend the Vienese Hot Chocolate! :)
