We came here for a special occasion after recommendations online. Service was very slow and inattentive. The food was edible. That’s the best I can say about it. And very expensive. For a vegan specialist, it missed the mark by a long way. Decor was lacking. Everywhere else in neals yard looks much nicer. Wouldn’t be returning.

We were looking last minute for an afternoon tea in London as a gift for my niece and found Double Shot/Viola’s when looking for available options. Visiting earlier today we were pleasantly surprised by this place! It’s tucked away from the main streets around the Theatres on The Strand, but it’s a great option. Our booking was at 2.30 but the table was ready when we arrived ten minutes early. Everyone working were rushing around making sure everyone was receiving their meals but they still took it in stride. The afternoon teas were slightly different to advertised, there was a shortage of their popular French toast, but the replacement of yogurt, granola, and fruit was a welcome one (nice and light in amongst an afternoon tea). I’m not a fan of salmon but the salmon bagel was delicious. The avocado toast was lovely and fresh (in December, in London!) and my favourite savoury by far was the truffle mushroom brioche. The scones were extra, but worth the cost, they were light and only a little crumbly. The mini tiramisu was gorgeous. And what we didn’t eat, they were happy to box for us to take away. The shop itself has a cozy feel, but still has a modern vibe to it. The staff were so nice and helpful. But the value for money was amazing. Some of the sold out teas we looked at were easily twice the price, and for a London venue to charge £30 for an afternoon tea (+£5 for the scone, cream, and jam) and still taste delicious?! We definitely want to come back!

I have been a customer of this restaurant for years, it is always good and of high quality. I went back last week and I don't know how it was possible but it was even better. it was a sensorial experience, my taste buds were in celebration! I was so satisfied and happy that I asked the manager Silvia (she is the kindest) to convey my compliments to the chef. Furthermore, the restaurant was really busy, there were dozens of take away orders but thanks to the numerous kitchen staff, we in the dining room received our food on time. The management of the restaurant is perfect, the staff are friendly and the food is fabulous. Probably those who left low reviews had something personal against this place.

We went to see Errol Linton at the Hideaway in February, 2020. Only upon entering the venue are you given the stark choice between getting a table somewhere near the stage by saying you are there to dine, with the default being that you are made to stand behind a glass screen completely separated from the main music room near the bar at the back. So, having paid the price of entry, with nothing said about having to dine if you want to be anywhere near the band when you buy the tickets, you are effectively blackmailed into eating from a pretty sparse menu.My grilled seabass was .......a nondescript bit of grllled fish, no more, no less. Waiting staff are constantly passing in front of you without reference to what's going on onstage, no consideration given for people who want to hear the band. People seated around us weren't that interested in the music, more in getting lashed on rosé and arguing. No consideration for others. Errol and his band can do no wrong in my eyes, albeit that that I felt that the performance was inhibited by the setting and they weren't as loose as usual. Shan't be returning unless someone really remarkable plays there, but if they were that remarkable a musician, why would they want to play a venue off the main drag in Streatham?

We had an unnecessarily negative experience in the Garden Museum cafe. Unfortunately, the attitude of the host there doesn’t make us want to return. We’d requested milk for coffee (twice ) . When it still hadn’t appeared my partner called over to ask the host what was happening as his coffee was cold. Not only was the response unapologetic, the host came over at the end ( after we’d paid ) to say he didn’t appreciate being shouted at, which was a complete distortion . His manner was entitled and fell massively short of what we are used to in terms of service. So disappointing as the museum is lovely and deserving of a great cafe where staff know how to behave.

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.
