Visiting for a month. Staying in Walthamstow, found a gem! Hucks became a regular stop for our first morning coffee, then again on our way out for the day and if still open for an afternoon treat. Great coffee, great conversation (often about coffee) , great toasties and pastries. If you arrive and people are queued do not be discouraged, totally worth the wait! A welcoming spot in a lovely community.

Stopped off for breakfast and ordered today’s toastie. It was very tasty but felt deep fried rather than toasted. May have been because of the large quantity of cheese. Service was very friendly and felt very covid safe. Ps: also very dog friendly.

Worth a visit. Went for the launch of their new Sunday roast menu and was not disappointed. The food was delicious, portion sizes generous and good value for money. We started with a retro prawn cocktail to share and then had the short rib and the lamb. Because we’re greedy we also had the tiramisu! The kids had a ball too with their version of a Sunday roast (fried chicken and chips), entertained by the Collab colouring pencils and paper. Finally, had a couple of glasses of wine from their all by the glass list, so I had the Gruner from Austria followed by the Susumaniello from Puglia, not often do you get that choice in a restaurant! Staff were cool. Like I say, worth a visit.

The bread here is good, the staff, however, really need some training in customer service. I've never seen any of the people who have served me smile or say a friendly word. Today, the bread I usually buy was sold out so I asked for some advice on what to buy instead. I was told, in a rather impatient tone, that all the breads contain 'a mixture' of grains (very helpful, especially to people with food allergies). When I asked about the difference between bread X and bread Y (looked different, had different prices and different, rather uninformative, names), I was told brusquely "They are the same". IGNORANT and RUDE. And this is not my first such experience - to the point that, despite their bread being really tasty, I don't feel like going back.

Great place that serves good beer. They always have something going on, and a large variety of events to suit everyone.
