Our daughter’s 30th birthday bash last night, with private dinning, absolutely amazing food, amazing staff, could not fault anything. They could not do enough for us and made the evening special. Will definitely be back.

We popped in for cake and coffee one freezing afternoon to find it well supported by customers together with a lovely real fire. There is absolutely nothing to fault.

Absolutely fantastic place for food and/or coffee. This place is run by WONDERFUL staff. The chef has a real passion for food. The Saturday night foraging menus are something to write home about. We enjoyed every single bite- Thank you

We chose this Pub for sentimental reasons for a family gathering and we weren’t disappointed. It’s like going back in time but in good way as this is how good local Pubs used to be. We weren’t disappointed and were able to commandeer a large area to accommodate our gathering which gave us a degree of seclusion. The food is different with baked Essex Huffers (which I didn’t know existed!) filled with a choice of home smoked meats such as brisket, pork or turkey, chicken parmigiana, Shrimp po-boy Spicy Mexican beans (vegetarian). Plus the loaded fried are scrumptious. The Staff were very accommodating and helped create a really chilled out family gathering plus it didn’t break the Bank! Would highly recommended.

I discovered Carrie's Kitchen whilst at the adjacent Wheatsheaf pub. I noticed a customer coming out with a delightful looking cake and couldn't help wandering to see what was on offer. The range of sweet treats on offer changes from week to week and never fails to delight. The two ladies here are always very happy and friendly and always willing to go out of their way to make sure us customers have a great experience! I genuinely cannot recommend Carrie's Kitchen enough.

This lovely friendly little cafe has the best cakes and the best tasting coffee I have ever had. Lovely staff. Highly recommend.

Proper pub and proper grub !! What gem !! Keep it up Colin!!

Food was awful!!!! Waited for lamb shanks for a while only to be told they hadn’t any, then we ordered Thai curry that was salty and glutinous. The fish and chips were not good either, thick batter, no taste, and the curry sauce was disgusting !!! Gloopy and no flavour !! £30 a head wasted !!!

We visited and tried the £20.25 menu. Wow, the food was absolutely amazing. I had the tandoori chicken poppadom starter, my husband had the bao buns which were both absolutely delicious, such lovely flavours! For mains I had the rack of ribs which was divine, meat had a beautiful glaze and just fell off the bone, husband had the cheeseburger and chips which had about 5 different cheeses and bacon inside. Both mains were outstanding in flavour and great sized portions. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding which was really light and tasty. Well done to the chef, very inventive menu. Very friendly service from the waitress too.

What a lovely cafe. Friendly staff, really good coffee and a super bacon baguette, other food is available. Well worth a visit.

The food here is excellent, but the experience was spoiled by a very grumpy staff. It is a strange building, looking almost half finished, and we had to go out and in again several times in order to order and pay for our food. We were not allowed to take our family dog inside, which was disappointing and we drove away saying we won’t be going there again.
