Enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch when visiting the area. Both the prawn cocktail and the smoked salmon and prawn starters were fresh and tasty. The main courses were superb. We had the roast beef and the turkey and gammon both were excellent with large portions of meat, roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings and gravy with mixed vegetables to share with 6 different options. Typical Sunday lunch choices but very well cooked and presented. Good value for money too. We will be back.

Lovely little pub. Staff very welcoming and friendly. The food is average. My partner had Chicken liver pate which was bought in but very tasty. I had prawn cocktail which was presented in a small glass tumbler. It was very nice ( you can’t really go wrong with a prawn cocktail) I thought it strange the way it was presented though. I had peri peri chicken which didn’t taste like it had any peri peri on it. I mentioned this to the chap that was serving us and he kindly brought me some more sauce to pour over the chicken. It made no difference to the taste. It was more like roast chicken It was nice though. Just not what i I was expecting. My partner had the Wild Boar Ragu. It was quite stodgy and tasted more like Heinz Spaghetti. The spaghetti was over cooked and the sauce was very Heinz spaghetti sauce! We didn’t stop for a dessert so can’t comment. We were a little underwhelmed by it all and a bit disappointed as we had heard good reviews on it. Maybe we just didn’t order the right things. Would we go back? Probably not.

Good value and lovely food. Would definitely recommend a visit. Nice pub but limited parking so could be busy at certain times.

Stopped here for lunch and all really enjoyed the food in the garden overlooking a pretty meadow and local fields. Would recommend the spinach and mushroom soup, served with excellent, freshly made, bread. The veggie pasta dish was also tasty and the chef made a fresh omelette for our elderly mum. Great service too. Thank you!

Tasty and good value for money lunch on a Thursday. Apparently one week is fish and next week is meat. Roaring fire certainly enhanced the atmosphere. Would recommend.

Friendly landlord and landlady, very reasonably priced home cooked food and beer brewed next door - what's not to like. I am not in this part of the county much but when I am I will be coming back here. One small bar and a larger bar both a bit dated but nothing wrong with that. View from the garden is good as it is on a small hill. Food only Friday to Sunday.

Always enjoy visiting the green man.. it's in such a quaint village and surrounding. Well worth a Sunday walk or ride to. The staff are lovely. The locals make you feel welcome and the food supplied is good and traditional And they have a local brewery too, so local wine can be experienced

Where do I start? Unfortunately, there was so much wrong with our breakfasts. The fried eggs were hard at the bottom and only a tiny bit soft on top on all 7 eggs, the bacon was hard, because it was overcooked and possibly reheated, ( it was stiff ). The sausages were also overcooked. The black pudding was as thick as the bacon and, in my opinion, an insult. We will not be going back, thats why we didn't complain there and then.

We had a wonderful roast dinner with our family of 9. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing. We had starters, main and dessert, pork belly was a great choice, everyone loved their mains and the Oreo Cheesecake was definitely a winner for the children. Thank you again for your hospitality and laughter. We will see you again very soon.

Unfortunately we don’t really have anything good to say about our experience today. Service was poor, not attentive, very slow. Cutlery not particularly clean, glasses grim. Fish batter soggy, everything under seasoned and not particularly warm. Restaurant was a little colder than we’d like. Expect a lot more for these kind of prices. Second time we’ve visited. First time just for drinks, and even then bar staff kept disappearing for a natter down the other end and was waiting to order just a few drinks. We’re not ones for complaining. But with things as slow as they were, felt if we did we would have ben there forever. So best just to pay and pop off home.

This is my go-to takeaway. Generous portions and super tasty every time. Friendly staff when I go in and efficient delivery when I don't feel like going out. Win win!
