The food at this restaurant is good, and the lady running it is friendly. However, the service was extremely slow. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty when we arrived, it took over 40 minutes to receive our breakfast. With only one staff member handling everything—both serving and cooking—it's clear that the place is severely understaffed. While the food is nice, be prepared for a long wait, and don't plan on being anywhere soon after your visit.

Came to Newark to drop off the RV at Brownhills. Walked into this delightful market town. Strolled along the canal and wandered into the Ram. We were welcomed in by a charming man who couldn’t do enough for us. He came to take our drinks order from the table. Got the dog a water bowl all with a cheery smile. Food excellent, service impeccable! We will be back.

I was looking forward to dining here as a coeliac but the service I had wasn’t exactly accompanied with a smile. The gluten free pancakes that I ordered were delicious but unfortunately they clearly were not gluten free due to the terrible reaction I had later on that day.. very disappointing. Even though I confirmed with the waitress that the pancakes were gluten free!

We used to use it weekly, now they are very regularly, running out of Jacket potatoes, and Paninis, before 12 30, they always say, they are waiting for deliveries, why wouldn't you order more stock each time ? [ if you are going to reply, you haven't got the storage space ?, then start using the Morrisons supermarket 100 yards away to restock, until your delivery arrives ?, as I have suggested numerous times ], the last time we visited, there was a lady doing the cooking, and the food was not good, there was a tiniest slither of Brie, on our Cobb, [ we wanted a panini, but they had run out again ] hardy any cranberry, and the bacon not well done, as we had asked for, the place needs a refurb, the staff are always nice. we will try it again, I am hopeful, that after they read our review, things might change.

Literally come here all the time to meet my parents, they even know my coffee order when I walk in which always feels lovely. Staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you or the dogs which they always make a fuss of! Lovely to have a nice family coffee shop where you can come to meet your own family with the dogs!

On our way to Lincoln but got stranded due to floods and blocked roads. Saw the White Swan Inn So popped in and asked could we possibly stay the night on the carpark in our motorhome. No hesitation,we were welcomed and given perfect directions on how to avoid floods in the morning. We ate a very large delicious piping hot Roast meal with a big jug of gravy. Washed down with great beers. Lovely atmosphere, very reasonable price for the food and drinks. Back to the motorhome with our new directions to Lincoln. Slept like logs. Will definitely call back and really recommend The White Swan for great food and great hosts.

Serves a wide choice of English, European and Greek cuisine with vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements catered for. Great food and delicious organic coffee along with very tempting desserts. Newark is lucky to have a place like this.

Visited here today after a walk along the river, was very disappointed. I had a latte which was bitter and my partner a tea which was undrinkable and we both had a scone each, with jam and cream, no butter, which had obviously been frozen and then defrosted, they were hard and crumbly. The most disappointing part was that everything was served in cardboard trays and cups and there were no trays to carry the food out on. This meant that I had to take everything out in two trips, this was not a problem in itself but this all suggests to me that the staff are too lazy to do things properly and to use proper plates, cups and cutlery. So for two virtually inedible scones and two drinks we paid £12 which is daylight robbery and if the staff continue in an this way I can't be see them having a business for much longer especially as all the other cafes etc we saw were very busy.
