The Coffee Chain in Newark and Sherwood

Literally come here all the time to meet my parents, they even know my coffee order when I walk in which always feels lovely. Staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you or the dogs which they always make a fuss of! Lovely to have a nice family coffee shop where you can come to meet your own family with the dogs!

Always worth stopping here for coffee and a slice of cake when passing by. A comfortable cafe close to shops. The staff are happy to oblige and the food and drinks are most enjoyable. Recommended

we came down from Yorkshire on a trip to Newark and went to Coffee Chain for its good reviews and its bike related theme. Excellent coffee and cakes. all the people that worked there were friendly and it was a lovely place...

Stopped here on the way to Norfolk, due to time of year and local flooding, usual coffee stop unavailable. This place is such a find, nice friendly staff, good 200' coffee and the scones. Well they were probably the best we have had, cherry and almond, also a cheese one, so light so good, baked by Scarlet. We will be calling on the way home.

Very kind lady took pity on a long distance traveller and let me use the loos and get a coffee as she was setting up. Excellent service will use them when we pick up drop off at the railway line. Oh and coffee is delicious 😋

Popped in for a coffee/tea and a snack whilst killing time, we had been recommended this cafe by a couple of people. It was raining cats and dogs, so we could have done with a cheery smile on arrival, however we ordered drinks and a toasted sandwich, the cafe was not busy so we didn't expect to have to wait over 20 minutes for a toasted sandwich, which was not really toasted when it arrived and extremely tasteless, the coffee was mediocre but the tea was good. This cafe has an excellent position, the building is amazing, but apart from one young man the staff seemed apathetic and lethargic which is a real shame as it could be an excellent place.

not been for a long time.nice clean place, was served by faye.all staff polite and friendly.nice latte and tea. we both had scones, the best we have had in newark.the scones were nice and fresh, not dry like ohers we have had in other places.

Toasted sandwich was really nice and tasty. I did however find the service a little abrupt and would have preferred that the drink came before the sandwich rather than much later.

Lovely coffee, tasty cakes, relaxing ambiance. Definitely coming back next time I’m passing Newark. Oh, and I love the bike theme!

We are new to the area, and we’re looking for somewhere to grab lunch one day, and found The Coffee Chain. So happy we did- it’s a great place to grab coffee and lunch. Their sandwiches are delicious, and there are gluten free options too. The staff are always happy to help, and have adapted items to suit my dietary needs too. The coffee is good, and the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. We are happy to make this a regular spot when we want to go out for a little respite and some good coffee/food. Would highly recommend!

Stopped off to Newark on way through too tk max and find this little hidden coffee shop. What. Great welcome by staff and excellent service, happy to adapt to suit diets. Recommended as easy free parking and no need to go into centre Newark. Just of A46 and A1

Stopped at The Coffee Chain on our way home from Suffolk.A short distance from the A1 ,so a good stopping point. Friendly welcome ,and good coffee and delicious cake.Will be using this small cafe in future.

Sadly I have always been a regular at the cafe but things seem to be going downhill. Visited on Tuesday 31 Aug had coffee which was ok with very poor piece of cake ( left half ) unheard of for me. Nipped to the loo only to find the room dirty and unkempt, looking closely as you do once you have noticed it clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly in some time and as it was only 10.30 am could not have been a bus trip ! Decided to go again today Saturday 4th hoping Tuesday was a one off, very very sadly it wasn’t, poor slow service, poor cake again and loo very dirty decided not to use and go elsewhere. Please please pull your socks up Coffee Chain you are on a slippery downwards slope A would be loyal customer

You must try the scones. I just ate a cheery one - warm with jam and melting butter- made on the premises by Moo. It was a gift to the senses. Roll on my next one

We were visiting the Northgate retail park in Newark and popped across here for a coffee. At the time, in April, we were still only allowed outside for drinks etc. We went in to order and the coffee was brought to our table. There are quite a few tables spaced around a covered area looking out over the retail park. Lovely sheltered spot and great coffee.

Stopped here for lunch after always enjoying our visits for coffees. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the service, sandwiches and soup. To their misfortune, we shop at Aldi so know their products well - the bread for the sandwiches, soup and sandwich fillings were 100%...

Visited in July whilst on a fruitless shopping trip so needed a coffee to cheer myself - so a local search found this place . 200 degrees coffee which was served quickly . Nothing special but OK

We found this coffee shop by accident while out walking during lockdown. They offered takeaway. Continued to visit after lockdown lifted. Lovely coffee and cakes. Staff are very friendly.

This cafe is a beautiful little establishment, where you can stop for a coffee and get a very tasty toasted sandwich. I’ve been here a couple of times and it’s always a pleasant experience. The latte is my favourite, the coffee has a nice taste!
