Tucked away within an antiques emporium this little jewel. From entering the shop you’ll be greeted by a lovely gentleman. The food was exquisite made to order not mass produced. The taste out of this world. Skill, time and quality ingredients. We were blown away. Will definitely visit again! Worth seeking out!

To call it a cafe or a bistro is slightly misleading, a tearoom would be more accurate. The only option of coffee is a cafeteria. Burger was said to be homemade, but the patty was clearly mass produced from frozen. Awkward staff, not very attentive. Hard to order desserts as nowhere to order and staff don't keep an eye on the dining room. When it did, had to get up and ask for a spoon. Lots of little things that let it down, it seems it's not been set up very well.

It’s a pity it’s a small caffetteria. On top of that one has too book in advance, but we managed to find a seat ( I believe it was not busy and was a rainy day). But staffs are amazing, food takes a bit long to come, but you can tell it’s not like McDonald’s, quality food. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. We stayed in the garden which looks very lovely. My review might not be a five but it’s a 4.5!! Great place .

Really disappointing first visit. We were excited to go after seeing the photos but what we received on the platter was not the same as photographed, to the point of I even looked at the photo on the page to see. We had no jams etc. 4 small bits of bread not the 8 shown in the photos. Just looked totally different to the platter they advertised and unfortunately no one checked if everything was ok - had to ask for plates as platter was shoved in front of us after a older lady said is this yours quite abruptly. 2 in our party ordered large breakfast and didn't want egg or mushrooms, waitress said do you want anything else instead they agreed they would and 1 had a sausage and 1 a piece of bacon, usually when your ordered something in place of what you don't want it's a swap however when the bill came we found we had been charged £2 extra an item! The only positive was the staff did give us some yoghurt for our infant as we couldn't give any from the platter as it was lost under the toppings We basically spent just short of £55 on breakfast for 4 adults and an infant (who was sharing adults) that was average with poor service. We were waiting ages for someone to come over and had to chase up the bill, which again was a long wait. We didn't realise they had put the extra £4 on the bill until we were walking out and we didnt have time to go back and query it. We enjoy eating out as a family and have been to some lovely local establishments and had hoped we could add this to the list but sadly we won't be returning really disappointed.

We called in at the antiques place on the way back from picking something up in Edwinstowe off Ebay. After a look in the antiques shop we thought we'd pop in the Cafe. It was situated on a sun trap courtyard with the option of sitting outside and a pink house in the Normandy style to the back (apparently this is common in the Dukeries and was built in the Edwardian period by th Estate. As I've got older I've become intolerant to dairy as it is a migraine trigger, so was relieved to fid they catered for me when I asked for tea with oatmilk. In fact they had a very extensive Vegan menu. (I'm not a vegan but dairy obviously limits me). On the dessert special was a vegan offer for a Knickerbocker Glory. Now I used to love ice cream and Knickerbocker Glories take me back to my childhood in Forte's or Pacitto's. Obviously something that I cannot have as a matter of course so as I treat I thought I'd gove it a go. It was Heavenly. All fresh fruit, vegan cream and ice-cream. My wife had a stuffed hot croissant. The staff were freindly, chatty and helpful and if we're ever passing we will call in again. I will also definitely be telling my friends about this gem.

Pre booked afternoon tea for multiple people including a 2 year old which was mentioned when it was booked. No high chair provided for us as ‘it was not specially requested’. Would I go back again..probably not for the initial bad 1st impressions. If you’re taking your child, don’t expect a high chair.

Had lunch here today after looking around the Antique centre. It was amazing food for a very reasonable price. What a find on the middle of nowhere really. They should move to London, they could make a fortune. Hubby had veggie burger. It came in ciabatta roll which was huge. Packed with haloumi cheese and salad, choice of Brie, cheddar or Stilton as extra cheese. He chose Brie. Also served with a dish of coleslaw and some roast potatoes. Really, it was enough for 2 of us, we could easily have shared it. I had the open sandwich on tomato bread with goats cheese and salad. The attention to detail was amazing. Both salads were finely chopped with all sorts on them, celery, sweet corn, red onion, tomato cucumber, kiwi fruit etc etc! The dressing too was delicious. Balsamic base, I think. The whole thing was a taste sensation. How can she be raving about a sandwich, you’re saying? Because it is the very best sandwich I’ve ever had. The menu was quite large for lunch time. All sorts of sharing platters, sandwiches, panini ,salads. Plus lots of yummy home made cakes, scones etc. Even wine and beer if you wanted it. If you are staying at Warner’s nearby, please go and have lunch here. It’s 5 minutes away and you’ll get a much better lunch than at Warner’s.

We didn't stop for anything to eat, although it appeared busy and the waitress very friendly, and the food looked delicious. The reason being that the waitress serving food (nor the lady on the door of the Antiques Centre, for that matter) were wearing face coverings, whilst every customer we saw walking around the Centre had been until they sat down at their table. We have been to several eating establishments and this was the first time we've encountered this. It really was very disappointing to see, particularly with the increase in Covid infections so close to home. It all looked lovely and the Centre very interesting and not overpriced like some, but we will not be returning until things return to normal. What a shame. Please reconsider this decision to reassure your customers.

Having visited the Emporium and Crew Yard Cafe a number of times, it was time to share the goodness. This is a little gem buried in the Dukeries where you can get some absolutely delicious home cooked food and then browse away to your heart's content in the Aladdin's cave that the Emporium offers. Here you will find a range of items from the expensive and valuable to the economical and cheap (but one man's trash is another man's treasure etc.) plus the genuinely unusual! As for the food, the staff do their utmost to cater for all tastes whatever your dietary requirements are. The Spanish omelette is gorgeous and extraordinary value for money. The cakes are divine and sandwiches are filling and tasty. The staff are always friendly and helpful doing their best to ensure a good experience for you. There is a good choice, some unusual combinations, they cater very well for dietary needs and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Added bonus is the browse around the fascinating Antiques Emporium after your meal. An all-round winner.

We have always drove past this place and the Budby Antique building but had a planned visit today and wasn't disappointed. What a gem of a place, large building with lots of vintage goods and antiques which are very well displayed along with a lovely cafe with great quality food. Was served by a lovely waitress named Terry who was very informative and helpful during our stay. Would definately recommend and have a return visit ourselves.

What a find this cafe is. Situated in a beautiful area close to Clumber Park and Thoresby Park, and set within an antique shop full of treasures. The staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you, it’s warm and cosy and the food is excellent. My family and I are vegans and the food is superb, with one of the best selections of beautiful dishes that I think I’ve seen anywhere on our extensive travels! It’s very reasonably priced and also has a wide range of dishes for vegetarians and meat eaters, all of the same quality. Brilliant place and we’ll worth the trip.

Really friendly and welcoming staff accompanied by amazing food, would highly recommend for a nice meal on the way back from a day out. Not much of a veggie but their veggie soup was gorgeous, and the service by Debbie was great!

After you've had a nosy round the very interesting antique shop you can have a drink and something to eat in this very pleasant little cafe / bistro. Friendly staff and nice food at a good price and there's plenty of car park space and it is set in a small rural village and if the weather is OK you can sit out in the sunshine. It ticks all of the boves

We were on our way to Sherwood Forrest and stopped to look at the antiques. We decided to try the bistro as it was more convenient than trying to find a pub. This was a fantastic decision!!!! Service was second to none and the food was delicious and very good prices. My son is a Vegan and lactose intolerant and there was plenty choice for him too. I now wish I had chosen a vegan option as it looked amazing. I got the feeling that people who have a vegan/vegetarian diet are regular visitors ???? We will definitely be returning; thank you for the warm welcome and gorgeous food.

We were staying in Sherwood for a few days and after a long walk in Clumber Park we wanted to have a good meal. We saw Crew Yard's high rating on Google so thought we would give it a try. My husband can't have milk so it can be awkward but this place had vegan options so it was promising. Both of us decided to have the vegan burger. Wow. The flavours in this burger are amazing. I asked for just salad on the side and was presented with an amazing selection of salads and pickles. Every thing tasted lovely and the staff were warm and very knowledgeable about food allergies. We went back the next day as well for another delightful meal. We would have eaten there every day if we had known about it sooner!

Oh my goodness. We popped in for a light lunch after visiting Clumber Park, and were totally blown away by the meal. We had the vegan burger and the vegan Chocolate brownie with ice cream. They were both totally amazing. The food was so good we're re-arranging our holiday plans for tomorrow to go back again! I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Nipped in for some lunch after spotting this place on the Retford Vegan Information page and it's an absolute gem. Had a vegan burger which was honestly the nicest vegan burger I've ever had in my life, packed full of different vegetables and flavours. My girlfriend went for vegan bean and lentil casserole, tasted similar to steak in ale, slow cooked and absolutely delicious. They do vegan takeaway food at weekends and cater for events too, would recommend to anyone that's either vegan or fancies a bit of a change!

We had the cafe recommended and were so pleased we gave it a try. What a refreshing change to encounter such friendly, efficient service and such tasty food. It cheered up a drab, rainy day and we look forward to returning soon and also will look forward to enjoying the pretty outdoor eating area in the summer sunshine. Keep up the good work, word has obviously got round as it was good to see how popular it was in such a quiet backwater.

We went on Friday for their Can’t Believe it’s Vegan night and we were treated to an incredible spread of gorgeous food. It was to launch their vegan takeaway and catering services and they absolutely smashed it. Great variety of food, wonderful flavours and an abundance of it all. A fantastic night.

We go to Budby Antiques fairly regularly and know the food there is very good - we were told about the vegan taster evening about a month ago and have been looking forward to it since. This was to promote their new takeaway service and to raise awareness of the diverse possibilities available for vegans. What an absolute triumph, there was a lovely atmosphere and an air of anticipation as a very packed dining room were seated and nibbled away at some artisan bread with hummus, oil and balsamic and Caesar dressing. The food was laid out in the area by the kitchen in a buffet style, there was an incredible array of dishes, hot and cold, loads of colour and texture and some very innovative ideas, we tried a bit of everything and it was all incredible, I was blown away by the staffs attention to detail, even down to the little pots of pickles and pitta for mini vegan kebabs, there were roast aubergine slices, curry, lentil stew, roast vegetable wraps, filo parcels of aubergine, little canapés of mixed crostini (all delicious) but my favourite was the beetroot and mint?? Who would have thought to put those together but it was fantastic, we were really full and our plates were clean, then we were given a plate each of individual desserts which were rich, delicious and not an animal product in sight - the staff must have worked so hard to put this evening together and it was a real success, amazingly the food was complimentary and we only paid for our drinks, what a great evening, the food was knockout, the staff were lovely and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, we will be using the takeaway service for sure, thank you Crew Yard cafe!!

Arrived about 2pm on a balmy Saturday during a busy working schedule ...no tables outside as a family group of about 12 had descended, but a waitress brought one out for me in the sunshine. I ordered filter coffee and a cheese an onion toastie with salad and home made slaw.. then I waited, and waited...After 15 mins I asked about my food and was told 'it's on its way.' The party was being served (slowly) and I was getting hungrier! After 25 mins and having no coffee left I went into the kitchen and said that if it wasn't ready I'd leave it and just pay for the coffee, but I was annoyed because I'd wasted nearly half an hour and had to move on for my next appointment. How long does it take to make a toastie for heavens sake!? Apologies from head honcho lady who was very polite and said I should have been told there would be a wait, and that she'd be reprimanding the negligent waitress concerned. The food was now ready and there would be no charge...so I went off with it in a takeaway carton with one of their 'proper' forks and it smelt delicious. I did pay as I felt they had made up for their lack of customer service, but surely it would have been better to serve my toastie first then deal with the big order? There were four young helpers in the kitchen - so I think one of them could have handled my order whilst the others got cracking with the family food.... Anyway, it was probably the best toastie and slaw I've ever had, so well done team, eventually! PS I will return the fork :-)

A very good run pub with above average food menu, and tasty dishes to took into. Very busy at peak times our table of 4 had a hour wait for main coarse after starters. But we did get a discount on the final bill. I would recommend this place if your in the area. Staff are polite and friendly

Food delicious but rather pricey. Staff friendly enough but a little brash. It was nice that even though they were busy we did not feel at all rushed. Very clean.
