We stayed here last night and the night before but, was ruined by the fire alarm going off at 5am . Tried to call reception but no answer. We made our way to the front of the building. Nobody at all was present, no staff at all ! After 15 minutes standing outside the George (5am) a car pulled up and a lady got out. I asked her why there was no one on site her reply was well we are not far away. Apparently we were the only residents in the building. I find this all very disturbing. All we got was "Sorry about that " JUDY BOSTOCK

We've been going here for years and it's always been good food, some times you have to wait a bit as staff changes quite alot we went yesterday and ordered 4 mojitos and they were the worst, just soda water a glass of crushed ice and mint and that's how it tasted, we complained and they took them away and when they came back you could taste the bacardi but no lime or sugar syrup simply the worst cocktail and they put an extra £18 on the bill at the end for the extra bacardi, we won't be going back

Only visited for pre cinema drinks last night and the service by Steve was fantastic! He always ensured we were well taken care of and promptly. Very welcoming and chatty!

Me and some friends were away for the weekend nearby and decided to order from here. Initially we were really pleased as some of the group are vegetarian and there were several options for them. When the food arrived, half of it was missing. The Uber driver said that’s all he had been given so we would need to contact go burrito. I got a call from someone from go burrito a few minutes later recognising that half the order was missing and they said to record this on the Uber eats app to get a refund. I did this but Uber just kept sending an automated message saying they couldn’t give a refund despite me sending a photo proving that half the order didn’t arrive. Therefore after a few days I phoned go burrito directly to mention that a refund had not been sorted and the person I spoke to said that the manager would be in the next day and they would sort the refund out on their end. Yet it is now nearly 2 weeks since I ordered from here and I am still yet to receive any kind refund.

The food was lovely. After my plate was taken away I sat and waited to order a dessert. Despite catching the attention of the waiting staff after over 30 minutes of waiting I gave it up as a bad job and went to the bar to ask for the bill. I asked for the service charge to be removed due to the wait but was not asked why. Disappointing, as the initial service was good, and the restaurant seemed to quieten down as the evening went on so it was strange

I've been ordering at Boojum religiously since 2010 (including an extended period of eating them twice a week for my lunch), and would have always sung its praises to anyone who would listen. It was always a real pleasure of an occasion, eating a Boojum bowl, day or night. I've eaten them in their hundreds over the past decade. But there cannot be any doubt, in my mind, that as prices have shot up, quality and consistency has dropped, and dropped sharply. Where once you didn't mind at all paying the prices because the portions were tasty and generous, it seems over the past 18 months or so a penny-pinching malaise has taken permanent root. Whether it's the toss-up of getting a decent portion or a half-filled bowl for your £9, or the order being wrong when Deliveroo bring it, or having to beg for more than a teaspoon of guacamole, or clearly seeing that the pulled pork portion is laughable when you pull back the lid, you really get the clear impression it is no longer about the food and experience anymore. It's about firing food out as fast as you can, and quality control being an afterthought. I don't just apply this to the Chichester Street branch, the Botanic branch has gone the same way. I don't have the heart to give Boojum a "poor" score overall, given the history of wonderful meals i've had. And you may go there and get the biggest, best bowl of your life. But i can no longer openly recommend it, not with the inconsistencies and price point.
