Tacos El Catrin Ipswich in Babergh

There was a blonde hair in my food :(. The birria itself was quite bland and tasteless and the salsa tasted like vinegar. It lacked flavour overall won’t be going again

The food and service was terrible. They had come to our office as part of a pre organised event which they had known about for more than 2 months. They owners looked lost and could not find the Ingredients they were turning us away and asking us to come back in half an hour. They beans were just poured in to a pan on the floor from what appeared to be tins with the water from cans still all there. They poured this on top of cold Sainsbury’s microwave rice and said this was Mexican … and the male owner could not even keep his trousers up and kept pulling them up and not wash his hands. Definitely not hygienic and has never in his left been to a Mexican restaurant or Mexico. Never go there.

Time estimates got pushed back food had no flavour other than a burnt charcoal flavour from the tacos and chips where way too salty, would not recommend

The goat stew was delicious and the tacos was so tasty, owner was friendly and kind would recommend to anyone that wants to try something new and doesn't mind spicy.

Wow 😲 how have I not been here before? Just had the most amazing beef tacos. They were juicy and flavoursome with a fabulous salsa. Will be back again!

food was amazing. but delivery was appalling. restaurant called to apologise. Just eat kept changing time of delivery as unable to provide a driver.

Well, what a find! Went to pick up a parcel and came home with some banging Mexican street food that rivals the best I’ve had in London. The owner is a gent, really passionate about what he does. You’d be mad to miss out on this one!

the tacos and chips were so salty that it made the whole meal inedible. definitely not fresh (or was suggested the recipe). definitely won't be using these again.

Had Fantastic beef and cheese, also pork tacos . Brilliant taste and the chips with lime and Chili salt are amazing. Really really recommend you go. Part 2 -Went back a week later and had the Goat and rice stew, it was tender and tasted great with just the right amount of Rice.still stick by original review

I’ve just moved from Texas to Ipswich and I’ve struggled to find good tacos until now. The birria meat is the most authentic I’ve found this side of the pond and the tortillas are proper good. We got the carnitas as well and my husband loved them. Will definitely be back when I’m craving flavors from back home! Can’t recommend this place enough. :)

Make sure you check they actually have any food to sell before going there. Drove from Stowmarket, and they were out of birria at 6:30pm. I had read on other sites, people had also turned up and there wasn’t any birria. Bit strange considering that’s the main draw of the business.

I was very excited that I can order birria tacos in Ipswich and I couldn't wait to try them. Unfortunately the taco shells were burnt, black to the point I could only taste burnt taco shells. I ordered cheese burria tacos but there wasn't any cheese in them :( .. the meat was good and the birria pot, but I couldn't finish them due to the burnt flavor from the tacos. Sorry for leaving this review guys, but I had to point these things out. maybe dip the tacos in more birria sauce and don't grill them that long in future.

The food is always so good I try to order from this restaurant everyday because this is the only place you can get authentic Mexican birria tacos from just eat 10/10 definitely need to get more items on the menu if done then you’ll gain a lot of customers wanting your food

Fantastic food, the best taco’s I’ve ever had! My wife and I used to order from Deliveroo all the time, but we go to the taco van instead now as it’s much cheaper and it’s great to chat to the lovely the owner!

First time ordering, elite scran, ridiculously good

Was given a can of fizz that I didn't order which had then exploded inside it's carrier bag making the boxes of food soggy. Food was nice

Dry salty and inedible. Sorry but I’ve been desperate for a good Mexican and this isn’t it. Sat hungry as I just couldn’t eat it. Do better as I really want you to be.

Wowowowow just found this place 2 minutes from my house. I'm over the moon not many taco options in town now we have this superb place close to my house. Such authentic flavours, beef is cooked to perfection and the salsa is fresh and perfect. Can't wait to go back and try the dirty rice also. Passionate chap running the show and friendly chatty staff. Great food served by great characters couldn't ask for anymore. Happy soon to be returning customer here 😁

Good tacos but what really sells this place is the passion the owner has and he has employeed 2 young men from the area which can only be good for the community. I look forward to seeing what comes next!
