We had an excellent evening as a family (2 adults and 2x 11 year olds). Valentina was an excellent host with a very professional, warm and kind approach. We all learnt a lot and are looking forward to trying it at home. The free drink and complimentary gyoza added to the great value deal. The waitresses were attentive and knowledgeable as well. Thanks!

Very cosy and good atmosphere. Friendly staff and amazing food! I had a tempura bento box and avocado maki. My partner had chicken udon, cucumber maki and gyozas. We also had some miso soup on the side. We loved everything and will definitely be returning soon 🥰 (The plates and bowls were beautiful too!)

Great tasting food, with good portions for the price. I will occasionally grab lunch from them and the service is always quick and satisfying, the staff even did me the kindness of giving me a complementary bag of pumpkin as they lacked the amount necessary to make a full order. It was completely unnecessary but greatly appreciated.

Having just returned from Holiday & in no mood to cook, we ordered Noo Noodles through a food delivery app. Food arrived very quickly & my vegetable & tofu noodles were absolutely delicious. Real no frills food - but so tasty & so filling.

We have come here on and off for years, since it opened. I will never go back. We came as a family, with no real concern over the cost. When waiting to go up me and my daughter were approached and with no explanation the waitress starts talking about my 12 year old daughter’s height. I was very confused, and had to double check I hadn’t accidentally gone to a theme park, I half expected to see a giraffe standing next to a giant ruler so she could be measured. Apparently they go by height when judging what a child is, I find this ridiculous. Even so, I didn’t consider or care about the price - we just wanted a nice family meal. I was so irritated I decided to eat a lot of food because I am quite tall and obviously the taller you are the more food you need. The only word I could use to describe the situation was absurd. We measured my daughter (yes, seriously) when we got home. She was indeed too tall to fit their definition of a child. Her Nan and Kylie Minogue would have been fine though. As would a lot of other children her age. This is discrimination against tall people. Honestly, I still can’t believe any of this happened. Then on the way out you are forced to present your receipt like you are a possible shoplifter leaving cost co. Ok so I wasn’t expecting the Ritz, but being questioned over the height of my child and treated like a potential fraudster rather than a valued customer left a sour taste in my mouth.

For a standard chain place, the quality of Kokoro is insane for the price. I tend to order the sweet and chilli chicken with rice. The rice is sticky and perfectly made, the chicken is slightly crispy and the sauce is really sweet and spicy. You get your food within one minute. The only criticism I have is the size of the joint. Three of four small tables to fit one or two people inside.

On a flying visit to Newbury I, and a friend of mine, met for lunch at Kokoro - and Asian fusion restaurant on Northbrook Street, right on the bridge over the River Kennet. 'Restaurant' might be a slightly misleading term - as Kokoro is more of a takeaway style, with some shabby seating downstairs in a shabby room. It is shabby. There is no avoiding it. The seating area downstairs is more akin to a long-abandoned waiting room. There is little to no charm to it whatsoever, save for the fact that you can see the river flowing swiftly passed the window. I get the impression however that the sort of people who frequent here (the sort of people that say "let me get" instead of "can I have") are not particularly fussed about the ambience. The food, it has to be said, is very good. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and noodle bowl that I had. Unimaginative I know but it looked the most appealing, and it tasted great. I would score this place higher were it not for the fact that I felt as though I was dining in a Prisoner of War camp. On a final note, this place is Halal certified, meaning that the people that want their food to have suffered a slow, tormenting, medieval death can pat themselves on the back.
