Worst customer service ever all they care about is money bad food and getting you out don't phone unless you want to wait 20mins even when you are paying over£200 I will never go back there

The service was absolutely horrible by a particular member of staff. When we went to the reception the young lady had a horrible attitude idk what was wrong with her… she didn’t have a smile on her face or even apologise for the inconvenience that we faced. food and atmosphere was good but JEEZ they need to get better customer service.

Superb choice of food as usual. Wish they would open every weekday at lunchtime like they did pre Covid, when we visited almost on a weekly basis.

Noisy, expensive poor quality food and that's before the compulsory service charge. Don't waste your money

Had the worst experience ever from a very rude and racist manager who I zvedu condescending and abrupt to black customers ! This is not the firsts time she has behaved like this and all black families who wanted to dine there were left standing in the lobby and spoken down to like they were nothing some even left. This has gone on for some time and Cosmo Soiuthampton need to deal with this now !! she has been very rude to customers for a long time now

We came for a 60th anniversary today and the lady that was looking after our table (Nicole) was so attentive, she went above and beyond in looking after us and is a real credit to your team. Thank you so much. Food was lovely and lots of variety.

have no photos of proof but i went today with my girlfriend and we had a very nice chinese dish to start with and it was amazing the honey chicken wings was my favourite but then my girlfriend went to go get her second dish a roast dinner chose the gammon as its one of her favourite meats to have with a roast and she came back sat down went to eat the meat and i went no stop do not eat it luckily i had saw it before she ate it but there was mold on the side of the gammon i then told the staff and the manager came over crapping him self thinking of every excuse possible but then decided to give me 50% off now why would you do that if you was so certain it wasn’t mold he had reapetedly told me it was burn marks from the over but that was impossible as if that was the case with a kinfe you should be able to scrape it off but that wasn’t the case it was 110% mold it’s very silly of me because i should of took photos of proof but as i was so amgry i went up and spoke to the staff straight away. please be careful anyone eating in there check your food before you eat it im not saying it’s a bad place but just be careful

Indian food is good down very badly, it used to be good now the quality of the food is bad maybe the chef who is cooking don’t know how to cook Indian food. Rest all other food was good

Cosmo, absolute great! Me and my friend went there; our first holiday on our own. We booked our meal in advance and we are glad we did as it was fully booked, and now i see why! The staff were friendly, and happy to help, even with a high demand of customers. The food was amazing and a good variety of food from around the world. I try many new foods and turned out i loved most of them. Good variety for everyone including kids, as had some basic food too, and good desserts such as a chocolate fountain. Will definitely be returning when we go back to southampton. Highly Recommend

Firstly the food is outstanding, freshly cooked and staff putting fresh out every few minutes. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very good everyone enjoying themselves at the buffet. The only down side that could be addressed is you are meant to get 1hr and 45minutes seating but email states this might be reduced to 1hr and 30 minutes which is fine but when we came last night 1hr and 5 minutes into our seating a waiter came up to our table and said we need the table back which isn’t right. This made us feel uneasy and we paid and left. We will definitely come back though

went on a sunday and it was busy as. we made a reservation for a birthday which they said they would bring a cake but never did. relatively good options but ive been to bigger and better buffets. not rhetorical best desert options but hey. clean place and nice workers

My partner & myself dinned last night and we were so disappointed with how we were rushed in the end. The lady in charge came to the table with the bill and card machine, she demanded us to pay straight away as if we weren’t trusted that we would make the payment. We’ve dinned on numerous occasions where the service was excellent, but our last visit wasn’t a great experience.

Buffet good variety . Food taste good . Amazing service for a buffet , all staff really friendly . Highly recommend if you can’t decide what to eat , you can have it all 👍👍

Saturday is quote busy so I'd avoid that if you can. Service was good, dirty plate collection came a fair amount so everything was kept clean and tidy. Food was good, Indian curries seemed subpar but other than that, no complaints. Guinness wasn't the best but again, with the amount on offer, it was okay but I wish there was a wider draught selection. Overall very good, would come again :)

And I was surprisingly impressed, food was lovely, tasty and well cooked. A great range to choose from for all ages. Liked that could choose from buffet but also had choice of cooking several dishes in front you while waited. I noticed that they were checking temperature of the food which impressed me. We visited on early Friday evening, it was busy but no big queues for the food and dishes were all being replaced and not out of any. The service was efficient and staff soon cleared away any plates after each visit to the buffet. Atmosphere was great for an evening. All in all a good place to visit and great value for money. I definitely over ate :)

Good restaurant. Plenty of good food. But there was one unhappy thing. I'm a young lady and the teppanyaki staff asked me if I wanted one slice of beef or two but the two tall men next to me were both given two slices straight away without asking - I felt unfair and uncomfortable.

The building itself is a great idea 😁. The place is loaded with lots of eateries. A good choice for food.

Every time we’re in Southampton we have to go to Cosmo! It’s lovely, clean, the staff are so friendly and the food choice and quality is incredible!

A very good option when your party had different dietary habits. Options varies from Asian to European including many options for children. A good options for a quick dinning.

It's ok if you are hungry and fancy different foods great for kids, I agree with most of the review's food quality is not the best but it is a buffet so bit of a trade-off volume over quality but you will find something you like. I would give the curry's at the back a miss not nice but overall good service and clean worth a visit.

First time here. Really surprised. Very well organised, very clean, great food that was well presented and tasted so good. A wide selection of food and then......... the sweet selection!! mmmmmmm. My only dissapointment was a service charge on my bill. I was not given the option of this. Gave my table number at the till and the card machine was presented to me with the total including two drinks. Only as i walked out did I see a 'Discretionary 3% service charge added to the bill' A little rude when we served ourselves and this was added automatically. I didnt realise if it was your Birthday you eat for free. We were there for my Wifes Birthday.

Excellent food, lots of choices, service great, good value for money. We were a party of seven, celebrating a double birthday, and would certainly go again.

Very good food with a lot of options, staff friendly and accommodating

Food-wise it was fine but the hygiene of the bowls/plates etc was not. The black bowls in particular all had grease in and other little unknown bits which was very unpleasant to have to eat out of as they seemed to not be washed properly, same with the other things like plates and glasses.

Cosmo is relaxing, offering a wonderful atmosphere.

Asked for alcohol free beer, got one with 4.5% alcohol.

We have been many times, However the food quality is very bad and today I in the egg and sweetcorn soup 🍲 Was very salty, also the curry's too There was no egg fried rice Till we asked , the staff was rude in the sea food section, Not worthy at all not recommending to anyone Didn’t enjoy at all! I liked the food, but I wish there would be more variety of international food. It's mostly British, Indian, Pizzas, Asia

Eat all you can buffet sounds great as long as the food is great too. The price of over £20 per adult for the quality of food you are getting is way too much. Most things don't surprise you with taste and many dishes lack taste at all. Pizza taste worse than frozen pizza from supermarket. Spaghetti is very watery and you can barely find any meat in there, burgers taste worse than McD. Curry and other stuff don't taste like they should and leave you with a lot of disappointment. I think The chocolate fountain is the best food there. And you have to pay extra for a fizzy drink like diet coke and coke zero but no regular Coke. There is also some lemon and orange drink but that is as good as coke zero and diet. There are plenty of people trying to get food but there is not much space between the food stalls so you have to almost fight for food. Obviously, kids love this place because of the dessert section but even desserts can't make up for very poor quality main dishes...

The best thing you can eat anythings free on your birthday as a treat. 💕👍

Food wasn't amazing some pink tinges to chicken, duck looked like minced pigeon carvery wasn't a carvery overall food wasn't amazing but the staff were extremely brilliant always on hand to take drink orders or to remove finished plates staff were amazing but the food did let it down.

What can I say? It's an all you can eat buffet. I think it's overpriced, but the food quality I'd good. It's not a posh restaurant and be prepared for all sorts of people moving around all the time coming and going for each visit to the buffet. £47.36 for 2 to eat & £9.68 for 2 drinks on a sat afternoon. Anyway, we enjoyed it because it was something different and we liked the food choices. Bit noisy, and we didn't like being sat close to the buffet. Prob better for us if we had a window seat to enjoy the view as we had not been here before. We will return though, so it wasn't that bad.

It is recommended to make an appointment in advance. There are many types of self-service provided and the price is very high.

Food was good when I came to pay there was a mistake with the bill on cosmo part ...tried and tried to explain didn't get anywhere ended up paying for a extra person and unlimited drinks ...

Been here before and was aware the food is quantity over quality however I didn’t expect to cut my satay chicken open and find pink, after the waiter took the plate away and I mentioned it was pink in the middle. A second female waiter came over with the plate again after they had removed some of the chicken I had cut open, and told me that the reason the chicken was pink in the middle is because they use frozen meat not fresh meat, since when has that made a difference?, chicken should be white all the way through not pink!, doesn’t make a difference if it is frozen or not. She then said no one else is complaining and that I am the only one so there is no issue, um okay then, she then stated she would get a manager and then did not so I would highly recommend staying away from this place unless you love pink chicken, poor quality food, and very rude staff.

Great food and good service in this large and vibrant restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would certainly revisit. It can get busy at certain times.

My camera is playing up. So I couldn't get pictures, unfortunately, but all I can say is the atmosphere is calm and warm. The service was quick and efficient. The place itself was well maintained and has a very cozy up to date feel to it. Plenty of food to choose from. They have loads under one roof. Chinese, roast, sushi, pizza, Indian and plenty of deserts to choose from. The food was delicious. Its £21 per person all you can eat! LEAVE EARLY IF YOUR GOING AROUND RUSH HOUR TIMES!! Give yourself 1 hour before you have to be there. Always pre book as it's busy.

The lunch time buffet was very good. There needs to be more seafood options though. Some of the starters were greasy. Overall good value for money. Had the dinner buffet the choice was more but still lacked some key items. The starters were good but not extensive. The mains will need to be improved as some were good and some mot so much. The desserts were actually nice but no pandan cake anymore.

Lovely mix of food from all over the world. Great friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere. This place has something for everyone from roast dinner, to pizza and Chinese food all very fresh and tasty. They have refill soft drink and a great desert selection.

I’m not normally a fan of buffet food but found this to be better than most. We needed a hotel/restaurant close to the Cruise Terminal and this proved to be more than ideal. The choice of food was certainly plentiful. Star for me was calamari/fresh prawns cooked in front of you with a teriyaki sauce. There is also steak, done to your choice of rareness. Dim sum/Aromatic duck/Indian curries/pizza and a few decent desserts to finish. For £60 including a bottle of red there were no complaints at all.

Was dubious about coming here for my daughters 12th birthday as have been to similar restaurants. I was very presently surprised! We made a reservation for 1.30pm on a Sunday. It was busy, but the food was hot enough and nothing ran out. We kept an eye on out 1.5Hr time limit, but at no point did we feel pressure to leave early. (we too had trouble with traffic but that is on us and not the restaurant's issue as some other reviewers seem to think). We had plenty of time to eat. Quality and choice of food is really good, and tasty. Staff could not have been more helpful (considering there is little interaction due to the buffet style), but the servers were very attentive and fast at clearing empty plates. Ignore all the negative reviews and try at least 1 time for yourself.

This is the BEST buffet EVER!!! There is a chocolate fountain, unlimited drinks, unlimited food and more!!! It may be expensive but it is worth it!!! 🥳🤩🥳🤯 there is even people taking away your plates when you finish your plate and need a new plate so there are no dirty plates!!! 🤯🤩🥳😎

Awful - £88 for 4 people for lunch and after just 1 hour they try to kick you out. Baffled by some of the positive reviews. Never again.

Food tremendous. Receptionist excellent. It was an engagement party of 15 and staff hovered over table. We felt rushed and were told our time was nearly up. This was a big disappointment.

There's a huge selection of food and most of it is really tasty, there were a few bits that weren't great (e.g. dry chicken) but you're going to get that with personal preference and large scale buffets. The meal was good value, especially the cost of drinks with free refills on soft drinks. Only thing that let it down for me was the atmosphere, because it's so popular it's very busy and a very chaotic in there. Some foods weren't topped up regularly or at all after they'd gone, so if you didn't beat the crowds to the popular dishes then you were out of luck.

This place is ok. Alcohol drinks can be expensive. The food is ok depends what time of day you get here I guess. Some dishes are bland but overall ok. For the price £22 per head isn’t bad but I would t be a regular customer

Rude reception staff. Told we would need to wait 20 mins for a table, which turned out to be almost 40 mins - great start! Lots of basic foods completely empty and simply not being replenished, e.g. no chips, no rice, no ice cream, etc. Then they had the audacity to automatically add a 3% service charge to the bill, as if we live in America or something! Telling everyone we know to avoid this place. Complete scam.

Busy restuarant with lots of choice to suit all tastes. This was our first visit and we found the food tasty and drinks were a reasonable price. We will definitely visit again when in the area

My husband and I visited for his birthday, the food was amazing and you can just keep fulling up more and more plates! The bottemless soda is a real bargain and the choices are good.

I been here a few times, many choices and selection of food to try, service is good as plates gets taken away quickly , food gets replaced quick once it runs out which is good not too long to wait, What I find a bit confusing is knowing what each dish is would help if you can see the type of food that's available when going around by maybe adding signs to which is what then having to go around looking for what you want to eat as it can get very busy there and many people are on the way which can get a little fostering specially when you have children attending as it can be also over crowding. Staff ready to help and fast at what they do , Food does taste lovely and flavours are good. Price for children is a little over priced as they wouldn't go much around but overall very good experience for kids to try different flavour and fun for them to grap their dessert that they want as you also have a wide selection, even doe ice cream can taste abit less flavour and more of ice that needs to be changed. Will be back for more .

First time at Cosmo, and I will definitely return again! So much choice and the way the place is set out with the cooks being behind the counters where food is served they won't be getting in your way and they can see quite quickly if something needs topping up or replacing. We visited at lunchtime on Saturday booked for 12:30, I thought we wouldn't have to book, but yes, we did! I recommend booking whenever you want (unsure about weekday lunch) Where else can you enjoy a lovely Gammon Roast with lovely pieces of sushi, ribs, and a slice of pizza all on one plate! Will be returning, and we live around 40 minutes away.

Great for everyone anytime for casual eating especially good for families. Lots of food options and bottomless drinks. Great deserts too! Let them know its your birthday beforehand ans get a free meal!(take proof)

Had a lovely evening with family, all food was delicious and well presented. Only downside was watching the poor receptionist getting left on her own to tackle violent customers refusing to pay , while other staff members stood back and watched. Quite shocking

We had a fantastic experience at COSMO Buffet in Southampton, and I can't recommend it highly enough. It was my first visit and I was celebrating my birthday with family. The variety of foods available was outstanding, offering a journey around the world, all of which were very hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The service from the staff was exemplary, they were attentive in removing plates swiftly and ensured that our drinks were served quickly, allowing us to focus on enjoying our meal without any interruptions. The presentation of the buffet area and the chefs deserve a special mention - it was well organised and immaculately clean, making the dining experience even better. The desserts area was a highlight for us, featuring loads of sweet treats that were a delight to indulge in, including ice cream cones and cakes. However, the chocolate fountain was a fantastic surprise for us and brought lots of smiles around the table. The payment process was seamless, quick, and easy, rounding off the evening perfectly. I would recommend COSMO to anyone without hesitation and will certainly be raving about our experience to all my friends. If you're looking for a dining experience with great food, wonderful service, and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further.

There is next to nothing available for plant based / vegan people. They mainly cater for the meat eater. There are a few veggie options but not many. Not great for allergen cross contamination at all. Very slow to restock a lot of the food containers. The service of the staff was quick and efficient. It was clean and tidy. Probably wouldn't bother going again. For the price per person you can get a better takeaway and have left overs.

What a lovely time. The food was nice a d git and tasted fresh. You had ti wait a few moments in the khve cooking stations however this was never a bother. There is a wide range if sauces and dips and a plethora of delicious pudding. The only thing that I would advise is avoiding the pizza . It tasted slightly stale but apart from that everything was brilliant. The staff where quick and efficient.
