The best restaurants serving Japanese food in Reading South East

Lo intenté por primera vez esta noche. Pedí la ensalada Katsu. Fue muy agradable y sin duda volveré a hacer esto de nuevo. Pedí vía Deliveroo y el servicio fue rápido y la presentación de la comida era buena también.

There was a line out the door because it was Saturday evening. We waited in line for 15 minutes and 5 minutes at the bar, but it was more than worth the wait.

It was not bad, but it was too salty for me.

Absolutely delicious food! Placed an order the other day and it won’t be the last time. Very authentic, bursting with flavours and cooked perfectly😉

Quality & delivery service excellent as always. Prices are increasing and they no longer give a discount for over £20 spend. The loyalty stamp discount is still in place which helps but they need to be careful on pricing against competitors.

Self checkout makes it easy to order. The sushi was tasty and seemed fresh, though no pickled ginger. The miso soup was a little bland, was too much bland soup, and only a few tofu cubes. The 2nd floor gives a nice view, but the thing i disliked the most is the tables that felt sticky. I'm not sure if it is from a lack of cleaning or from the worn down lacquer, or both leading to spills soaking in the wood, but at least they provide small trays. The tables are nice and big, 8 person tables if i remember correctly and it was not busy at all on the 29th December 3pm

Itsu is probably the most authentic non Japanese owned chain in the UK We went 2 days ago to find new products on the menu including an array of snacks. The Thai dishes are just incredible with a beautiful flavour profile that is just mouth watering. The staff have changed for the better as they are more customer related. For a standard chain place, the quality of Kokoro is insane for the price. I tend to order the sweet and chilli chicken with rice. The rice is sticky and perfectly made, the chicken is slightly crispy and the sauce is really sweet and spicy. You get your food within one minute. The only criticism I have is the size of the joint. Three of four small tables to fit one or two people inside.

Good food and lovely staff and helpful

Parecía ser algo nuevo y no tan ocupado cuando llegamos un sábado por la noche. Lo primero que notamos fueron las cinco opciones veganas en el menú principal. ¡Qué sorpresa! Así que pedimos el Sticky Yaki Tofu, el Creamy Kitsune Udon y el Tantan Mushroom. Todo sabía delicioso y tan auténticamente japonés. Además tuvimos el Kakiage, Tempura de Calabaza y Batata. Muy buen servicio. Bonito ambiente luminoso. Limpio. Buen precio. Lo recomendaría!

Tuve una cena rara aquí. O bien el inglés es un segundo idioma aquí o el personal necesita una formación exhaustiva de servicio al cliente, ya que simplemente no estábamos conectando con nuestro servidor en ningún nivel. Ella no podía entender lo que estábamos pidiendo y luego nunca volvió a comprobar cómo estábamos hasta el final de la comida. La comida estaba bien, pero algo está bastante mal en este lugar.

Walked into the “restaurant “ on a sunny day and the temperature inside was so cold I couldn’t believe it. I assume they don’t want people to linger? Luckily I’d taken a jacket inside with me but I was still cold. I have a few food allergens and the information on the touchscreen ordering point clearly said ask a member of staff for guidance. That resulted in being given a paper menu with a grid to show what I could or couldn’t have. I’d have preferred some personal input but he’d disappeared. Anyhow, chose a chicken dish on rice. But so did my husband and when they appeared we didn’t know which was which. Very difficult getting assistance to tell us as the only man behind the counter was flitting around like a bee. By the time we had it sorted our food was very cold. It clearly didn’t start hot but now it was quite grim. My husbands looked much more appealing than mine as his chicken had a sauce covering it. Mine looked awful and tasted worse. I don’t know how they cook it but I’d think maybe boiled? It smelt awful :/ I don’t even know why we didn’t just hand it back and ask for a refund. The rice with a bit of sauce was ok but as I said it was cold. I’ve given this establishment two stars. It would have been one except for the fact it seemed quite clean. We will never go back there as long as we live.
