Marugame Udon Reading in Reading

Parecía ser algo nuevo y no tan ocupado cuando llegamos un sábado por la noche. Lo primero que notamos fueron las cinco opciones veganas en el menú principal. ¡Qué sorpresa! Así que pedimos el Sticky Yaki Tofu, el Creamy Kitsune Udon y el Tantan Mushroom. Todo sabía delicioso y tan auténticamente japonés. Además tuvimos el Kakiage, Tempura de Calabaza y Batata. Muy buen servicio. Bonito ambiente luminoso. Limpio. Buen precio. Lo recomendaría!

Habiendo leído las críticas yo era escéptico, pero mi hijo estaba dispuesto a probarlo... El concepto es bueno pero falla en la ejecución. La mayoría de la comida realmente no estaba lo suficientemente caliente... Claramente, el caldo vertido en los fideos no estaba caliente y luego se agregaron artículos fríos a los tazones. El huevo blando también estaba frío y algo poco apetitoso. Los tamaños de las porciones principales estaban bien. En cuanto a los entrantes, depende de lo ocupado que esté en cuanto a si los artículos están recién cocinados. Encontramos que no estaban calientes y algo grasosos... Supongo que podrías conseguir entrantes y luego volver a la red. De lo contrario, los artículos se enfrían mientras comen. Las elecciones de alimentos fueron buenas, pero la implementación falló. ¿Iremos otra vez? Tal vez para un almuerzo rápido mientras compras, pero no es un lugar de salida familiar.

Vine aquí para cenar después de la iglesia con los otros adultos jóvenes de la iglesia. Sería útil que el personal estuviera más informado sobre alergias porque mientras puedo comer cualquier cosa, una de las otras es sin gluten y por un momento parecía que no habría nada adecuado (pero finalmente se identificó algo en el menú que ella podría comer). Su desconocimiento de los componentes de artículos particulares tampoco me fue útil cuando intentaba elegir entre las personalizaciones disponibles para lo que quería pedir para mí.

Este lugar tiene un montón de escritura japonesa traducida al inglés. La comida es increíble, las instalaciones están muy limpias y el lugar es muy lindo.

We had tempura ebi for starters, they were not warm and very very chewy. Main courses were udon beef and chicken teriyaki; the beef tasted dull and greasy, the chicken was hard to find amongst the enormous amount of rice. Plastic glasses looked cloudy and unappealing. The only plus point was the friendliness of the staff. Very little value for the amount of money you had to pay, not an experience worth repeating.

Disgusting, flaccid, greasy, luke warm food. Gyoza were dry and flavourless, not to mention deep fried; the courgette tempura was dripping in fat and so overcooked the courgette had the consistency of wet mashed potato; the sweet potato disc was bone dry and tasteless; chicken goyoza was approaching a decent flavour but ruined by a rivulet of greasy fat that ran out at every bite. The tempura dip was watery and lacked flavour; Beef Nikutama looked good but no smokey BK sauce flavour in evidence; noodles also luke warm. The place had more staff than diners, unlike Osaka across the canal, which was packed, so in future - follow the diners. Not even decent value at £40+ for one main and 10 pieces of tempura. Shall not be returning unlike, I suspect, my supper.

Thought we would try this new restaurant out but wish we had gone to Wagamamas instead! We had the chicken teriyaki & rice - it didn’t look good to start - small pieces of boiled chicken with only some covered in sauce - in a large bowl of rice. Overpriced for what you get. Would not be returning.

Once we had ordered and the food was on the tray, we were told they do not take cash Mine was teriyaki chicken which was about six pieces of white look like boiled chicken. Stuck on a big bowl of rice and a scoop of sauce pull over the top. The chicken was tasteless, not marinated and to be truthful the sauce was pretty rank. My friend had Katsu curry and noodles and it was like eating a bowl of noodles which were big fat, chunky ones, not even thin. We left most of it. We also had a cold drink each. It was a complete waste of £32 wasn’t even worth a fiver. The boxes teriyaki and Katsu they do in Sainsbury’s is not good either, but it is a lot better than here.

To start a guy greeted us at the door and went through the basics of how to order (it was pretty complicated). We bought two small bowls one medium and a kids thing and a few drinks which added to 50 pounds?! When we started eating we noticed that the pork was incredibly fatty and the beef was quite fatty aswell. To top it all off a false emergency alarm went off and it told us all to leave and not enter the carpark!! The staff were not the most helpful as they did not tell us what was going on. They didn’t tell us to leave or stay many people were extremely confused. Then after a couple of minutes of people leaving and contemplating wether to stay or go after we had to ask the staff what happened they told us it was a false alarm! Overall the noodles were probably the best part. Despite that I think that with the high price and fatty food I don’t really recommend coming here. Won’t go again.

A truly dreadful meal. The quality of ingredients was really poor, the veg was over cooked and the beef was more fat and sinew than meat. I ordered the Beef Miso Udon and left almost all of it. Total waste of money. Ended up at Tesco for a meal deal.

Amazing food, love coming to this restaurant. Today I was served by Lollo who dealt with a mishap my friend and I had and handled it perfectly and treated us so well. Such a friendly place and great customer service. Makes me wanted to come here even more :)

Very disappointed, very dry salmon in the terriyaki bowl, all rice and nothing else, no substance to the dish at all. Will not return

Good for what you pay for in comparison to other high street chains. Would say the soups are better then Wagamama, much more authentic

Very disappointing experience, ordered Takoyaki Udon, delivered broth but no octopus, quite expensive, no dipping sauces included with ordered you are expected to pay extra.
