The best restaurants serving Japanese food in Brighton and Hove South East

Only recently discovered this little gem. It's one of the pop up style food stalls in the Open Market and the food is amazing. you must try it!

Quite expensive, the portions are small, the service is so-so, the music is far too loud for a restaurant. The food is quite nice but all in all it's not a good restaurant. The default 12.5% service fee on the bill is definitely too high.

A great Vegan sushi experience, delicious bowls of plant-based goodness; staff were really kind and friendly, and food was freshly prepared and after order came quickly.

Great place for sushi, very friendly staff, great food. Nice and fresh produce.

The food was spot on and it really felt like an izakaya. The unusual chicken skewers which are typical in Japan were cool and the extensive beer and whiskey menu was good to browse; our highlight was probably the Korean cucumber. However, I can’t tell if the sticky door that kept letting a draft in added charm or would be a five minute fix that would improve the experience.

This was our third time eating at Wabi Sabi and it was lovely as always. We ordered the veggie platter, and while it came out with omelette rolls, they were kind enough to swap them out for extra inarizushi after we said we had asked for our meal to be vegan. The staff were all very kind and the food is delicious! I’ll definitely be returning in the future ☆

My first time here. Only had a coffee and pancake but the food looked great. I'll be back.

Solid Japanese restaurant serving a variety of dishes. Sushi is really good and I'd recommend trying some of the more unusual dishes out as well.

I looooove Pompoko. It’s a small restaurant and serves wonderful Japanese food with fluffy rice and flavorful sauces. I love the tori chili don. Staff are friendly and it’s located in such a convenient spot!! Do not forget to bring cash (☆_☆)

Visité aquí dos veces en tres días. Reservamos las dos veces ya que el lugar está muy ocupado. Tuvimos sushi sobre todo, pero también probamos la tortilla de mariscos que estaba delicioso. No es barato, pero la calidad del sushi era excelente. Personal amable y clientela de edades mixtas tan agradable ambiente. Sin duda volveremos.
