The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Japanese food

Every time we stay overnight in Portsmouth we visit this restaurant. The food and service are always excellent. For our latest visit my husband had the beef sukiyaki and I had the seafood tempura. Both meals were lovely. Highly recommend this restaurant. Only down side is the location isn’t the best.

Had my uncles 80th Birthday party here on Saturday night and even though the weather was rubbish the venue, food, service and overall was amazing. If I lived in Liverpool and needed somewhere for a party this would be the place. The bar prices was very reasonable and the staff were friendly and fun. Would recommend this place to anyone who is wanting a city centre party location.

Wonderful evening again. Food exceptional. Service wonderful. Brilliant theatrical cooking in front of us. We will be back again soon

Had some food delivered through just eat. Quick delivery time. All food arrived as ordered. Food was good, although some of it was a bit too salty (grill steak with chips). Crispy beef with Korean sauce and katsu bento box were great. Will order again.

Linda pequeña sushi, restaurante, vinimos porque obtuvimos un descuento, pero los precios son razonables para la calidad, incluso sin ella. Personal que sabe lo que están haciendo, servicio rápido, volveré de nuevo! Nos sentamos arriba y también nos gustó el arte en las paredes.

Recogí comida para llevar de Iro Sushi hoy y estaba delicioso! El personal era amable y la comida salió rápidamente. Tenía la caja de sushi vegano y definitivamente era sustancial... No pude terminarlo todo. Estaba muy bien empaquetado y a buen precio. Ojalá Iro tuviera una ubicación más cercana a donde vivo, pero es probable que vuelva si está en las cercanías de una de sus muchas ubicaciones!

I'm not sure where to begin with this review, as it was probably the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. From the initial phone call to the bizarre encounter upon arrival, this establishment was a complete and utter disaster. Firstly, communication was a significant hurdle. It appears that the staff, who I believe are Vietnamese, have a very limited understanding of English. This became evident during the booking process when a male staff member struggled to understand my (native English) name, even with the phonetic alphabet. He also stated the restaurant was full, only to arrive and see it nearly empty. My wife also called to say we were running late, and the woman on the phone said it was fine. The problems continued upon arrival. We were greeted with an unfriendly, bewildered look from the manageress. Our reservation was nowhere to be found in the book, despite my wife's follow-up call. We were eventually shown to the counter seats we were offered on the phone. The most shocking part of the experience involved the high chair we had requested during the booking. The restaurant has only ONE high chair, which was occupied. Instead of offering a solution, the staff member approached other diners and asked them to give up their high chair for our daughter! This was the final straw. We were so appalled by this behavior that we walked out. The entire experience was a masterclass in poor communication, lack of organization, and utterly unacceptable customer service. I strongly advise anyone considering dining here to reconsider. This restaurant is not only poorly run but also demonstrates a complete disregard for basic customer service principles.

Buen restaurante asiático / japonés con un menú fijo para el almuerzo. ¡El vino es un poco caro pero es tu decisión después de todo!

We went expecting a conveyer belt experience (kids like it) and were very disappointed with the lack of it in Yo kitchen. This was the reason we travelled to Yo. We have some nice sushi places locally and the adults generally prefer those venues. Anyway it was a treat for the kids.... So whilst we got over it quickly, we discovered that the menu was pared down and very pricey. £6+ for the gyoza and £8+ for four pieces of maki. The gyoza were much better than those at Yo - these were pan fried and with a beautiful sauce. However, there wasn't really a choice of good sushi (about 5 options). The salmon maki was made with cream cheese. It was all a bit westernised/fusion... So we didn't order any. Kids menu was good value and plentiful. Kids enjoyed it. The food we chose was good, bit I don't think we'll be returning. I'd rather go to a proper sushi house or a better Japanese restaurant. I'd rather have eaten at ITSU.

Katsu curry sauce was more like a Chinese curry sauce. Ramen broth wasn't of any standard never mind high. Everything expected warm was tepid. Burger was delicious and fries portion was generous. Sushi was excellent.

Muy práctico y útil para tener otro sitio donde comer - menú está bien aunque en ocasiones la comida llegó un poco fría. Puede ser muy ruidoso cuando bar y fuera de las áreas están ocupados, así que no es para una cena romántica. Buen bistec y carne, una buena selección de vinos, en general el personal atento.

Came here on our way to a party and sadly wasn't impressed. Maki rolls online were £3 and website said £5 but in the restaurant were £7 - I've never seen maki this expensive! Didnt have any sushi due to price. I had the vegetable fried noodles which tasted vinegary (bottled sauce) and 3 bits of broccoli. Pretty basic. My friend had spicey chicken rice which was nice. Wouldn't recommend.

There is an Itsu store opposite Aldgate Tube station and I was peckish so I decided to pay it a visit. It was at about 7pm and my order was prepared really quickly for me. It was really tasty! The restaurant was clean and tidy and even though it was early evening in the City there were still a few people enjoying the food. There were staff about as well making sure tables were clean and ready for the next customers.

Fantastic food, enjoyed by all the family. The service was great, and we got discount for paying cash and collecting the food.

Stamford BridgeのChelsea主催試合を観戦するのに近隣に宿泊した時の定番化している。洋食で胃もたれしてきた頃に、日本人シェフによるちゃんとした和食が食べられるのが嬉しい。こじんまりした店内は行くといつも混んでいて、私たち夫婦以外に日本人を見たことがないが、味は変に現地化せず日本人向けのテイストを守っている印象。かなりレパートリーは広く、値段も手ごろなので広くお勧めしたい。営業時間をネットで確認していくことを勧める。 一度、夕方のまだ仕込み時に伺って忙しそうだったが、快く注文を受けていただけてありがたかった。
