Doumo Japanese Restaurant in Southwark - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

I found the restaurant via Google and I truly hope more of you guys out there finds this small Asian pearl. We, a family of four with very different food preferences went from Doumo happy, all of us. We had sushi, gyoza, ramen and fried chicken. Everything very well prepared, good size and excellent service. Doumo is well worth a visit. We recommend it strongly.

This was a welcome gem of a last minute find (via Google). I went with my kids, as a (sushi) requested birthday treat. Small, intimate, super friendly staff, delicious food, not wildly expensive relative to other places, relaxed and outside of the tourist belt, so was a welcome refuge in December!! I'm a wheelchair user. For info, the WC is downstairs. There was a very slight step into the restaurant. Neither of these posed an issue for me. Totally recommend!

This was hard work ! We booked for lunch for a work lunch (5 of us) . Doumo offer a special priced lunch menu but we were told we couldn't have this because we had booked - I mean... what ? They did let us have the lunch menu in the end. Our food all came at different time -the last one was probably 10 minutes after the first one arrived. When we came to pay the bill we were charged main menu price for one of the dishes chosen off the lunch menu because we had asked for it without rice which makes no sense whatsover. All in all this was quite hard work - the food was fine but not sure I would go back - the service was pretty surly and they just seem to make up rules as they go along to get the most money out of you.

This Japanese restaurant has taken over from Oyi, which was extremely good if a bit expensive. For lunch, the new incarnation was OK. Food was not as good as Oyi, but the prices are lower. Dinner prices seem very high. It's a shame that Oyi shut.

We ran across this lovely little Sushi restaurant near our Airbnb in Fitzrovia. The spiced edamame was fresh and delicious and the rock ‘n’ roll sushi was wonderful. It’s nice to find a reasonably priced restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat in a quiet, friendly place.

Would give this place zero stars if possible. Made a booking for 6pm. Arrived at 602 and was told that they were not yet open. When I inquired whether I could wait inside as it was a cold windy day was told I could not. Waited for 15 mins. When I went back inside to ask how much longer the wait would be given that my booking was for 6pm was told that they were deciding not to open at all. Absolute worst customer experience I have ever had. Avoid this place.

We live locally and have held off from going here since they opened because of the appearance - it occupies the old “Hassan Brothers” kebab premises, I had one of Mr Hassan’s kebabs before, trust me they were an experience. Anyway the new owners really have turned the place around, it’s now Chinese -Japanese fusion, despite walking in without a booking we were greeted warmly, service was attentive and friendly. Yes it’s physically small however the decor is tasteful and modern. The food was lovely - we had the duck pancakes MUCH better than Crystal China over the road which has gone massively downhill in the last few years. The duck was fresh, not over cooked and flavoursome. We had the pot stickers ‘Chicken Goyzo’ and a shredded Korean beef dish that whilst tasty needed a little seasoning (to my taste). That being said, all fresh, all tasty and very reasonably priced - we had a bottle of Chard (it was Friday after all) very nice and only £22 Highly recommended, we will be back for the BBQ stuff next time

I went with a friend to Doumo for the first time last night and was very impressed. We ordered a combination of Japanese and Korean dishes to share and found the food to be delicious. The pork and kimchi was particularly good. Service was also very friendly and efficient. So all in all, a nice experience and I will certainly go back on a future work trip down to London.

The food here is delicious. We ordered takeaway from here through lockdown and came today to the restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere and polite staff. Bento boxes are good value for money. The teriyaki sauce is incredible. We look forward to returning soon!

We’ve ordered takeaway from Duomo many times over the past few months and have never been disappointed. We’ve had a variety of dishes including the wonderfully fresh sushi and have loved all of them. They’ve even thrown in an extra starter free of charge each time. Quickly became our favourite takeaway!

Order took quite a long time but the food was well worth the wait. Delicious! And lovely fresh sashimi. Will definitely go back hoping the wait time is not as long next time!

Lovely food. We found the restaurant on deliveroo and really enjoyed the katsu curry and duck wraps. I definitely recommend it and will be ordering again!

Recently went to Duoma’s with a friend. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of Chinese food. Sushi, buns, and noodles was amazing.pleasant staff. Btw came back the next evening. Go give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a takeaway from Doumo and we were very impressed! The sushi was incredible and we also enjoyed the Bento box. We will definitely be coming back! Great service and food and friendly staff. I would highly recommend it.

A wonderful hidden gem on Tower Bridge road. Made to feel welcome from the start and treated well all the way through. Had the Japanese buns for a starter which were very tasty. For mains had the bento boxes which were delicious and the portions...

Dont let the look of this restaurant put you off. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Our young waitress was the perfect hostess with exactly the right amount of attentiveness. The food was excellent. We nearly booked a Japenese restaurant in Mayfair...
