Service was excellent. Quality of food great. It is true that there were only 8 seats at the bar but it was possible have a seat in front of the bar or you could wait until seats get free.We were there in time and therefore we could sit at the bar and watch cook creating our sushi. Please beware this restaurant is not a running sushi typ which is really a nice experience.I would recommend this sushi bar at anytime.

I bought a voucher which included a sushi platter and a bottle of champagne and another one which included a bottle of wine. I hadn't realised that the restaurant was actually inside the Hilton Hotel as the address was 5 More London Place. It's a very cool, elegant space and although there are only a few seats at the bar, we were offered seating in the lobby area which had comfortable low sofas and tables. The platter had a good and ample selection of sushi and the chefs were polite and helpful. Service was good and the meal was enjoyable. I'm not sure whether I would return and pay full price but if another voucher turns up, then definitely I would buy one.

As other reviewers we went there with an offer (Amazon in our case) for a sushi platter (24 pieces) and a bottle of prosecco.Location, service and sushi were best quality. As it was lunch time it was quiet and enjoyable in the reception area. The waitress was always attentive, and we were able to finish our prosecco in the outdoor seating area, as it was a sunny evening. The only reason I don´t give it 5 stars is because the normal price would be a bit expensive, although the sushi was the best I have tried so far.

Like many others my wife and I dined here on an Amazon promotion, which was good value, although the full price is a tad expensive. We were greeted immediately on arrival and offered a choice of seating - at the Sushi bar or at a low table in the reception area. We chose the later and had good views of people moving around this part of London. The Sushi was really excellent, and an adequate sized dish, whilst the bottle of champagne was a great way to accompany the meal. We paid extra for coffee at the end and never felt rushed during the whole experience

i'm a big foodie and I appreciate good restaurants. My experience at Takara was somewhat disappointing though. I work a stones throw from this place so thought id treat my partner to a meal here. When I first arrived I was sent to my seat but on two separate occasions (a few minutes apart) I was asked by the same waitress 'am I meant to be here' and 'did I have permission to sit in this seat'. both comments were incredibly rude and I felt like leaving, plus to top it off the waitress left me waiting 20 minutes without a drink (despite ordering) and I had to ask the head matradee to get it for me. Just to set my profile - I am 32 years old, well dressed and work in a professional job on Queen Elizabeth Street - not exactly rif-raf off the street. the sushi platter was ok but dry. I ordered an additional £30 platter as we were still hungry and this did not fill the gap. Whilst I paid a total of £73 (£30 groupon voucher and £43 for the platter and a single vodka coke...) it should have come to roughly £143 assuming normal value. Now I've eaten at some of the best restaurants in London (Galvin at Windows, Sushi Samba etc) and pound for pound Takara was pretentious and over priced. not too pleased and will certainly not be recommending this to anyone. Despite what other diners claim my experience was rubbish, and only accentuated by the rude waitress at the beginning.my advice - avoid filling some fatcats pockets and eat elsewhere. I bet the owner couldn't give a hoot regarding my poor experience

We just did this as part of a (i think groupon) deal at £35 for 2 including bottle of champagne, sushi platter (18-22-ish pieces for two)the service was friendly and we were able to sit in the nice main restaurant (although sushi bar looked good too)The sushi was very nice (maybe a tad warm?). If you are quite hungry the platter may not be enough for 2- we ordered some extra maki rolls, the tempura ones which were very niceWhile not loads of food, the champagne really makes this deal- enjoyed good food and nice bubbly! Not sure i would pay full price as 6 maki for £9.50 isnt cheap but you are in the nice surrounds so its never going to be itsu prices i guess. sushi tasted fresh too

Used a Groupon deal and had sushi here with a friend and it was great, the food was fresh, well presented and delicious. We washed this down with a very nice bottle of Champagne. Normal price for our goodies would have been £98.00 but with the Groupon deal it only cost £35.00. Amazing value!

I have become a regular at Takara Sushi at Hilton Tower Bridge. The chefs are so accommodating and the quality of their sushi is unsurpassed in London.Far more intimate than other London sushi establishments and the location is perfect for a walk along the Thames before or after your meal. Enjoy a cocktail in the Ruba bar before you dine.Another deserving accolade for Sven Goosen and his team at Hilton Tower Bridge. You will not be disappointed.

Ci torneremo sicuramente

Came to eat here with my girlfriend, who is normally very conservative with her food choices. After being talked through the different ingredients in the food & the way in which each piece is produced, we received our meals. It was delicious! Fresh produce & quality which you could taste. Wonderful service & a smile to go with it. Victor & Jun (the chefs) were very helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a bento box each in the lounge area. If you sit at the counter you can watch the sushi being prepared but there is very little space whereas the lounge area is vast. They do afternoon tea bento boxes between 12 and 2 which have sashimi, sushi and little pastries all the same box. The staff are wonderful, polite, informative and smiling. The only down side is the complete lack of atmosphere in the lounge as its a great anodyne barn of place typical of multi national chain hotels but that's not the fault of the restaurant.

I took my brother here for lunch as a special treat and we were absolutely amazed by the experience we had. Our waitress introduced us to the chef who then prepared the sushi in front of us. He talked us through all the fish involved and told us where they had been sourced. The food was absolutely devine and certainly the best sushi that I, or my brother have ever tasted. It's quite pricey but definitely worth it and I would go back again. The extra special touch for us was the service - both our waitress and the chef were so welcoming and attentative without being invasive. We went for afternoon tea to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Our waitress introduced us to the chef who would be adding the finishing touches to our bento box. We were given the choice of green tea or sparkling wine upon our arrival. We opted for the wine, which was served chilled and was very refreshing. We sat on high stools at the bar. There was soothing background music and we relaxed while waiting for our food. The food consisted of sushi, sashimi with cakes and berries for dessert. We had green tea with our meal. It was an altogether delightful lunch, a traditional afternoon tea with a Japanese twist.

We came here for lunch one day on the recommendation of a friend and ended up bringing the whole family back with us a second time for dinner. The quality and variety of sushi was just brilliant. The chef explained to us how most of the fish was flown in daily and the special steps they took to make sure it was all as fresh as it could possibly be. We tried quite a few dishes, the standouts for me were the seared beef fillet - crazy thin slices of almost raw beef with the most delicious dressing and salsa and the yellow tail sashimi with jalapenos and a brilliant zingy dressing. We tried so many different dishes over the two visits and every one had a different sauce or dressing and was prepared in a slightly different way with the flavours perfectly complementing each other. I was amazed at how varied and interesting the different dishes were and everything we ate was delicious! The bar setup was lovely and intimate having full view of the chefs preparing the dishes and the lovely service from the waitresses topped off the perfect meal. We also ordered dessert from the menu of the hotel's main restaurant - I had a chocolate and caramel tart which was luscious and rich with a really tasty and delicate pastry. If I lived in London I'd go back regularly:)
