You can’t do walk-ins but line is fairly short. Food is good - ramen broth is on point and noodles were cooked to perfection. I tried the aubergine karaage which is unique and has a lot of umami flavours. Cocktails were good with Japanese twist in it.

The manager/supervisor is rude. 2nd time we’ve been there and both times he has been condescending and passive aggressive. Statements like “I can’t just magic up a seat” and outright asking my friend “is there a problem” after being rude to us as a group. We’re a group of young females and all of us were made to feel uncomfortable. First dog friendly restaurant I’ve been to that complained it was difficult to accommodate the dog. My friend was still eating and 2 separate staff members tried to take her bowl from her. Terrible customer service and very average ramen, will not be returning and would highly recommend you don’t waste your money, they’ll be pushing you out the door before you even put your chopsticks down. Have never written a review in my life but they truly deserve this one.

Food is average but probably great in western standard. Soup is flavourful however too porky. The unwelcome smell of pork that could be eliminated if treated the right way. The bowl is too small for the portion, when dining in, I had to be ultra careful for no ingredient spilling everywhere. The best customer service is unlimited refill of tap water without asking. This is special in London. Unfortunately served by the male supervisor or boss like figure, who has some ego that is off-putting. Atmosphere is busy, noisy but cozy. Wooden chairs are not the most comfortable. Maybe this is beneficial for more turnover. Not a bad choice for some quick meal alone or with friends

I was thankful for being served near closing time, however felt let down by what was about to come. The ramen came in 2 minutes, and the broth had sadly been mixed with extra water so lost all its (potentially very good) taste. Equally, the chicken karaage was quickly reheated, and the pork buns were dry, again with a lot of potential but sadly difficult to chew. For the future, if too late to serve, just please tell the costumer, as this place deserves and is surely capable of providing a much better experience. Thank you.

Best vegan ramen in London (potentially the world?). I’ve eaten here a lot as a local but also been to Japan many times (close family are vegan + Japanese). Hands down the best ramen - especially Vegan Kumamoto Ramen. Perfect amount of umami, filling, little bit of spice but not too much, great assortment of veggies (bamboo shoots, mushrooms etc) and best of all the crispy but soft tofu. I literally eat the same thing over and over again. Innovation and change is good, but this dish doesn’t need it. 10/10

People say it's unfashionable to compare, but that's about it, but when you compare it to actual Hakata ramen... This can be said about all the ramen shops in London, but many of them are bland overall, and this one also has a nice tonkotsu aroma... I wonder if the strong smell of tonkotsu is too strong for people in the UK...even though they eat things like Marmite. The store's atmosphere and service are perfect.

I have to share about my experience with the most kind and caring staff I have ever experienced in a restaurant. Last night I had a lovely dinner with my family at Hakata, my mum fainted in the restaurant and again outside. We waited for an ambulance for at least an hour and the staff we absolutely incredible. They let us sit in the bar downstairs whilst we were waiting and brought us water, coke and sweets for my mum and we're so caring and just wanted to make sure she was okay. I really have never met so many caring staff members in a restaurant before and they even let us stay past closing. I am so so grateful to them! The food was also incredible!

I visited Hakata this evening, and while the food was great and the atmosphere enjoyable, the service was absolutely terrible. We finished our meal in about 30 minutes, but even before we were done with our drinks, the staff began hovering over us, making passive-aggressive comments and staring as if we were overstaying our welcome. I understand that it’s a small and busy place, but the level of pressure to leave was completely unnecessary. We asked for the bill as soon as we finished our drinks and sat for just a few minutes wrapping up our conversation. During that time, a server came to our table four times in three minutes, repeatedly saying “thank you” in a clear attempt to rush us out. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this experience here, and it’s enough to make me never return. If you’re looking for a place where you can actually enjoy your meal without being made to feel unwelcome, I wouldn’t recommend Hakata. No matter how good the food is, it’s not worth the awful service.

What a great surprise! I have to admit that ramen isn’t my favorite dish, but since I just arrived at the hotel and wanted a quick dinner, I decided to give it a try. I found a restaurant in front of the Marriott Residence Inn London Tower Bridge, where I ordered a Katsu Sando (a Japanese sandwich with fried chicken), vegetable and chicken gyoza, and Miso Chicken ramen. The service was super fast, and the place was about 80% full when we arrived around 9:10 PM. I definitely recommend it if you're in the area!

Very average ramen in London. Waiting time for a walk-in table of 3 was only about 5 minutes however, as soon as you’ve finished your food they will hurry you to leave. I tried the Hakata ramen, the noodles didn’t taste very authentic. The pork was chewy rather than melt in your mouth. The broth was fine but again didn’t taste very authentic. The toppings were all processed food like tinned bamboo shoots, pickled ginger. No fresh vegetables except some fresh spring onion. The egg was good. The menu is definitely catered to western diners as there are a lot of vegan options which is good for vegans who want ramen. Unlike other more authentic ramen restaurants in London, the crowd was majority non-Asian.

As we entered, we were greeted warmly and promptly learnt that the wait was roughly ½hour and we were kindly asked if that works for us. We said yes, we were handed a buzzer and were allowed to go downstairs to the bar to wait. The bar had quite a wait as there was one person doing both the cashing and serving of drinks so it took a while. We ordered the Asian Silk cocktail, which was delicious and our wait was actually 40minutes but the drink made us feel nice so it didn't quite occur to us that so much time went by. There are a lot of shared tables so if you're there with one other person you can end up on a table with 4 other people and not just seating for two, please keep that in mind if you're more introverted. The service was very friendly and the chicken Gyoza was delicious. We ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, my husband took chicken and I took Pork as our meat. The broth was ABSOLUTELY immaculate. The noodles needed more time to soften as they were not quite al dente but a state a little before it, it could be because we went on a Friday and the place was absolutely crowded. The Ramen was yummy and the other ingredients nothing to scream about, although the eggs were cooked perfectly but for me that broth alone was to DIE for!

Chicken Karaage was okay and tasted decent. We ordered Katsu Curry Ramen and Tonkotsu Ramen also, which I would not recommend at all. The both soup were just tasteless as if no seasonings were added - I can hardly believe the broth was cooked for 12 hours as the menu description says, and not even proper Ramen noodle was used… I wouldn’t say their Ramen is authentic, rather far from it… It’s shame as the restaurant atmosphere is really nice.

I recently visited Hakata Ramen Bar in Bermondsey, and overall, it was a good experience. The ramen itself was delicious—rich, flavorful broth, well-cooked noodles, and fresh toppings. However, while the service was friendly, we felt quite rushed. The staff brought us the bill without asking, which made us feel like we needed to leave quickly rather than enjoy our meal at our own pace. Let’s just say it was there but refused to introduce itself. Then we ordered the ramen. Oh, the ramen. It’s hard to mess up comfort food, but this place nailed it—in the worst way possible. Picture semi-cooked noodles taking a sad bath in salt water. No broth, no depth, no soul. Oh and The waitstaff. If you're looking for a dining experience that will truly transport your taste buds, Hakata Ramen + Bar is the place to be! From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in for a treat. We started with an amazing selection of cocktails, including the refreshing Geisha, which set the perfect tone for the evening. The starters were equally incredible: the BBQ corn ribs had just the right smoky-sweet flavor, the aubergine was beautifully cooked, the chicken wings were perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the prawn gyozas were tender with a satisfying bite. For the main event, we indulged in two bowls of Tonkotsu Ramen—one with melt-in-your-mouth pork and the other a rich and hearty vegan option. Both were absolutely phenomenal! I wish I had pictures to show, but usually we don't waste time taking pictures, we just focus on the food in front of us!

Tried the winter katsu curry ramen special- it was great and very filling! Same with the katsu bao. Great place for quick food, and it’s quite lively and busy. Staff were really nice as well

I had the spicy chicken ramen, which was delicious with a rich, flavourful mushroom broth. The chicken karaage Hirata was perfectly crispy and delightful. I would definitely return.

Quick turnarounds and nice atmosphere. Mediocre ramen. Tonkotsu fine, but you can get better elsewhere. Katsu ramen is an unpleasant, overly pumpkiny gimmick.

Good service, good food and for a really reasonable price (about 12- 14 for ramen). Only downside is it can get a bit loud.

The best place to eat ramen in the area! Food is delicious and stuff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Can be a little too loud sometimes in the evenings.

Highly recommended to try deep fried aubergines with barbecue sauce. It’s very crispy and tasty 🤤 Ramen soup tastes like I ate in Japan 🇯🇵

This may be the best ramen I've ever had in London - not exaggerating! The tonkotsu was amazing and the bone broth delicious. The unlimited tea top ups is a nice touch. Can't wait to return!

If you’re looking for good food, quick service and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options this is a great place. We’ve been here many times and it’s become our favourite ramen place. It’s always busy and whilst you can’t reserve table it’s pretty quick turnaround.

Tempura prawns are amazing. Teriyaki chicken ramen was one of THE BEST I've ever had. Will be back every time I'm in London.

Amazing miso soup and lovely spring rolls, but was really dissapointed by the dragon rolls - couldn't taste anything and the rice was particularly sticky/mushy which meant for a strange texture. Would give it another go given the good reviews and speedy delivery time.
