The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Japanese food

Food was ok but for the price the quantity was terrible and the quality disappointing. We ordered the prawn skewer starter which was just under £7. We got four small prawns (two skewers with two small prawns on each). Avoid.

Ordered sushi it was too cold and tasted old. Not the same quality as before, I will not buy sushi there again.

Not enough stars available.. I'd been to old venue. New bigger place chic and still welcoming. Pickles still fab. Amazake the best pud I've had at a restaurant in decades. Outstanding. Definitely something for everyone.

Called in for lunch on good Friday, we both elected to go for the bento box, I went for the kaiso salad, onigiri, cucumber & avocado uramaki and teriyaki chicken. Everything was delicious, the maki and onigiri were particularly good, also tried some of the karaage chicken which I would highly recommend. As well as the food being excellent the staff were engaging and eager to please, as well as making a good drink recommendation.

Evan was very engaging, polite and friendly and made the experience great. The food and sake was on point too.

Wandered by just after 5. Noticed this place had an "all you can eat buffet". Ordering three dishes at a time you are served very quickly. To begin I had California Maki which was lovely served with wasabi and ginger. Then miso soup which to be honest I didn't like the large slices of mushroom and tofu. The soup overall was tasty though. I finished round 1 with prawn and chicken yakisoba. This had a king prawn with several pieces of chicken and LOTS of noodles. Round 2 consisted of crispy chicken Maki and egg fried rice with charcoal grill chicken teriyaki which was absolutely delicious. Nice place, would visit again.

A wonderful friend made a wonderful choice in taking us here to sample the most amazing Sushi made by young skilled itamaes… the 40 piece selection was as succulent and delicious as it was exquisitely presented. I honestly can’t remember the last time I tasted such fayre that was not only memory worthy but hugely instagram-able for those inclined too :-))

First visit. We both had bento boxes. Lovely selection. I'm glad we booked because this is a small venue and very popular, even on a Thursday night. The food was excellent 👌. I especially enjoyed the teriyaki salmon.

Great food, lots of choice - and very friendly chef! Every time we go, we conclude that we don't go often enough.

The finest food, of the finest quality. Nit to be missed. Owners and staff are fantastic! Tonight we held our works Christmas meal which was outstanding. A must try! Quality is never comprised! A true 5 star! Staff superb, chef outstanding

The food is ok, but the service is really rude. The menu is incorrect but the waiter said we should notice that by ourselves. They canceled the soup in the end but the attitude is very disrespectful and disappointing.

Meh…. Food okay, not very authentic, quality no better than yo sushi, no Japanese chefs involved etc. but atmosphere better albeit the place is tiny. If you know your Japanese food you will be disappointed as missing the basic quality, care and presentation which is a shame. Things like uneven slices of sashimi, nigiri etc, really bad wasabi, tuna and salmon not that fresh. Overrated but certainly not terrible, we’ve definitely had a lot worse but won’t be coming back.

Tuve una primera cita aquí, resultó que había cerrado permanentemente sin dejar rastro, caminé arriba y abajo de la calle como 8 veces tratando de encontrar este lugar, resultó que había cerrado hace un par de meses.

Thank you so much to Neil and his staff for giving me and my party, the best time one could have wished for. My guests , not all local, commented on the quality of the meal, tappaniaki so expertly cook. Everything came together, once again thank you for making my 80 th birthday unforgettable.
