Sushi Passion in Birmingham

Have been planning to dine here for some time and finally made it. The decor is beautiful and the music and atmosphere truly relaxing. The choice is so extensive that it can be a bit overwhelming but the staff do provide advice. In the end we plumped for a more modestly priced platter with some scallop sashimi, crispy hosomaki and a side of seaweed salad. The dishes were all delicious with stand outs being the scallops dusted with tiny emerald green eggs, the crispy hosomaki (an unlikely but moreish combination of salmon, Philadelphia cheese, teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds topped with a slice of strawberry) and the eel nigiri. There is a good range of Japanese beer and sake although we stuck with tea. We will certainly return. Highly recommended. We will certainly be returning.

OMG… the best sushi ever! Been here so many times and the food and ambiance and customer service is always 100%. The chef Kamal always goes above and beyond, definitely a hidden secret gem in Birmingham 🤩🤩🙌🙌

This place lives up to the name. Its where I wish I could order sushi from. I always order more than I want as I never get disapointment.

We had a fantastic experience at Sushi Passion. The food was fresh, traditional, plentiful and delicious. Watching the chefs prepare the sea urchin was very interesting the being able to sit on the floor and eat in the traditional way was a lovely addition!

Authentic sushi, and one of the most authentic miso soups I have tasted outside of Japan. The fish is of good quality, the tuna nigiri literally melts in your mouth. Me and my partner both enjoy inari, and love that there is versatility in the inari options.

All the food (sushi, sashimi, etc.) was amazing, salmon was so fresh. Edamame were a bit dry though, but everything else was very very good. I would definitely come back.

Came here for my anniversary and it was soooo cute, they decorated the table which made it so much more special!! Ruby was our host and she was such a STAR!!! So sweet and attentive! Would deffo come again! THANKS RUBY!

Went on a quiet Sunday afternoon to celebrate my husbands birthday, the staff and Chef kamal was very pleasant, had a glass of sake with a mix boat . Very authentic taste and reasonable prices with amazing experience.

It’s a vey nice and peaceful restaurant, where you can experience eating sitting in the traditional seats. The sushi is always good and fresh, the taste is amazing the smoked salmon nigiri was a surprise with a very delicate and particular taste. You can see the chef making your sushi all very professional and passionate starting from the Head chef Kamal that is really passionate and also the two chef Ram and Madhu preparing the food with attention and dedication.

Me and my friends always come here to have the amazing sushi. We had wonderful experience in sushi passion everytime. Our favourite is the dragon roll highly recommended. Today we tried the smoky salmon as well, which was really nice, smooth, soft with the taste of wood. The amazing food made by head chef Kamal, and chef Ram and Madhu. They are really professional and we feel the passion, the welcome and the real taste of Japanese.

We are always very excited about sushi my girlfriend and I! This weekend we decided to visit Birmingham This is my first time, looking for places we found sushi passion and talking with people that live here also came as a recommendation. We absolutely love the food I thought at the beginning that it was a little overpriced but not at all the amount of sushi and the quality of it really makes it worth it, definitely we over order but as I alway say sushi is a treat! 🍣❤️ Thank you to the staff simply everyone was very helpful and friendly, I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Birmingham a great experience.

One of if not the best sushi in brum. Lost star on service but not from the staff, they were above and beyond. Booking App didn't make it clear they have 2 styles of seating, and we were given the floor style(not good for myself or wife), not a standard table. This meant staff had to run around sorting us seating, making us wait half an hour before we could order.

True authentic Japanese food with great service. The food was delicious with a variety of flavours in each dish. In Wales, we would say this is 'blasus iawn'! The tiger roll was our favourite for sure! The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the decor and ambience of the place! Definitely a restaurant to visit when in Birmingham!

Food was exceptional and reasonably priced. Atmosphere was lovely, location is close to Snow Hill, staff were attentive and friendly. We sat on the floor seats for the full experience - just make sure you've got your good socks on because you have to take your shoes off! Will definitely be going back 🍣

We first came to sushi passion for a valentines meal! My girlfriend had told them if was for valentines - the staff had made it extra special with traditional seating and heart confetti! We then came again not planned but we again were not let down. Great customer service! The food though! Wow so fresh! Kamal head personally greeted us and explained how he makes the traditional icecream! It’s outstanding. A must go! Thankyou

Had a wonderful meal with my family. They make their own miso soup, which was one of the highlights of the dinner. Sushi was superb amd so was the prawn tempura, the takoiaki and the tofu clouds! The salmon tataki came inside a smoking dome and it was one of the most delicious I have ever tried. Service was excellent and really friendly. Perfect night out.

The fact we take a 35 minute train to dine at Sushi Passion is surely a strong endorsement. We lived in Asia for 25 years and visited Japan on several occasions; so we have a good idea of what defines authentic Japanese cuisine. Food is excellent backed up with efficient service. Strongly recommend!

The food was so high quality i would eat the entire menu if i could. All the staff were so kind to us, they always laughed with us and recommended my favourite dish! The atmosphere was so relaxing! The music calmed me. The only bad thing is the tips are only in cash and nobody ever carries any anymore! Overall 5stars!

It was beautiful to be invited into the space by a pleasant waitress. I asked if I could be seated on the floor and that was ok. The low lighting, the smiles from the waitresses made my first visit here not my last. The food was tasty, not my usual choice but honestly I was walking pass and seen people seating on the floor and feasting and I was like yeah that’s a bit of me. When I was able to I returned for the full Experience ❤️

Sushi Passion hosted my partner’s birthday party and I can’t be more grateful! We had a party of 8 and everything was fantastic. Food, drinks, beautiful table to help us sit all together. We were allowed to bring our own birthday cake and the girls still brought it to the table to help with celebration. We absolutely loved it there especially fantastic service (we had so much laugh!!). Definitely we’ll be back again soon.
