**UPDATE - Sadly now closed!** Incredible experience! Wonderful service, absolutely amazing food, excellent quality drinks. We went for the bottomless summer menu, tried all the vegetarian dishes which were all outstanding and amazing value. The staff were really attentive and warm. Best Japanese food we’ve had outside of Japan! Made our wedding anniversary extremely special and we can’t wait to visit again with friends. Thank you Sushido!

Amazing food as always, been here numerous times it’s become our favourite place to eat out. Fresh food, good quality and excellent presentation. The restaurant is always clean, staff well presented and so friendly. It’s not a fast food place if that’s what you’re expecting, they take the time and care to serve you top notch food! We came to Sushido for the first time today and are so glad that we discovered this little gem. It's a family owned place with a lovely atmosphere, fantastic service, great menu, and delicious food! We had the KOI KOI platter and a chicken yakitori special starter. Both were outlandishly delicious. Compliments to the chefs! They also do a bottomless sushi menu which we are looking forward to trying! We had some great service from the team, especially Karan who looked after us, talked us through the food and the menu, and made the whole experience delightful. We will be back, hungry for more. Thanks to the whole team for making our first experience here so good!

Amazing food, amazing customer service made use feel well looked after and also done a small surprise desert for my partners birthday. Used to come when we lived in Sutton Coldfield but deffo was worth driving from Derby for the food!

Having some bad news in the family yesterday we decided not to eat out tonight and order takeaway instead. There is this little gem not too far from my partners house. We just called in, placed an order for takeaway and only had to wait 12 minutes. VERY IMPRESSIVE FOR A SATURDAY NIGHT! The food was delicious!!!! I absolutely recommend the Pork Belly Starter and the Sashimi Mix!

I liked this place, cute and chilled. Food was nice, service was nice, decor was nice. Toilet lock needs fixing especially since its a unisex toilet, but other than that, all good. Would visit again.

This place is amazing. 1. Looks great. The inside is so well presented. 2. They make you feel so welcome. We've been a couple of times for meals, a few times for takeaway and for one of their sake nights. Every time the service is number 1. 3. The food! Whatever you order it will be delicious. Tonight I had the special chicken and the special pork. Some of the best food I've ever had. Five stars is too low. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely experience from start. Friendly staff and the chef gave the kids a live kitchen experience. Food was fresh and tasty. Clean well presented just one point is I would have loved to hear authentic Japanese music in the background and not pop music. Overall we were very happy

Weve been to Sushido about a dozen times now, trying lots of different things off the menu and they always serve up quality food. This is backed up by great service too.

This is such a great place for a wonderful evening! The food is amazing, the service is really good and the staff are so friendly and make the service really personable. After ordering on line for some time from here after good reviews and some initial good takeaways - as love Japanese. £50 for two starters( Edamame beans and 3 dumplings - which used to be 4 ) and 2 mains which is a luxury for a take away so expect hot food and decent portions. BUT the portions have reduced and the food was cold. Alongside that the menu has reduced down to only a few mains ! I will be going elsewhere to spend my money which is a shame as the taste is good. Poor Quality for a home dining experience !

I love this spot, I've been coming here for a few years now. The food, atmosphere, and the drinks are all a ten. This place is a real gem and I love the staff, especially the front of house staff, they're always so welcoming.

Sushido has become my ultimate go-to for Japanese food delivery, especially when craving noodles and katsu curry! the food always arrives fresh. Highly recommended for a quick and delicious Japanese fix!

Great sushi and fantastic service

Having eaten sushi on 3 continents, I’m happy to say this is easily the best so far! Excellent, fresh, great flavour combinations and the staff were excellent. Also, gluten free options and accommodations were simple and not a hassle - clearly shown on the menu and the staff made it simple as ordering what we wanted. 10/10 would eat again.

Friendly atmosphere that makes you feel welcome. The staff provided great service and their food recommendations were top notch. Food tasted terrific, was both enjoyable and filling and as such, I've already recommended it to several of my colleges who live in the area. To top it off my mate was convinced that he can enjoy sake after being dead set that he didn't enjoy it, so a miracle has been performed with one sip. 👍 Highly recommend. Will definitely go again.

Absolutely love this restaurant, our favourite restaurant by far! Stumbled upon this place by accident and so glad we did haven’t looked back since. The food is incredible and the staff are very welcoming and remember us each time we go in. Wish we lived closer but that doesn’t stop us visiting. Cannot write a review good enough for this restaurant! 5 star plus.

This place serves some really tasty Japanese and Thai food. They offer some fairly unique sushi/maki rolls as well. The dining room is small but cozy. Makes for a good date night.

This was my 3rd visit to Sushido and unfortunately, it was my last. Myself and my friend booked Bottomless Brunch as a Christmas treat. I'd called ahead as a courtesy to let them know traffic was bad and we may be late. We arrived 6 minutes late, which is not too bad I'm sure you would all agree. There was a man at the desk in a non-sushido branded hoody (possibly the owner?) He was not personable at all and gave off a very weird vibe, but we were seated by the staff and everything was fine. We were handed a menu with several options for drinks, and chose to start with a sake cocktail which was lovely. My friend then wanted a prosecco next but we were told you have to stick to one drink for the entire time. You cannot switch. Even if you want to switch to a soft drink, which would be cheaper for them, you have to stick to one drink. I've never known this before, but we carried on with the Sake, but it was difficult to get more as the staff were chatting in the corner a lot and I had to ask twice to get another drink and it wasn't exactly busy. The next odd thing was we wanted to get more sushi but we were told we could only order one roll to share, we couldn't have one each, even though we had paid £50 each. So you have to like the same thing. Again very odd, but we said OK fine and shared Salmon maki, we then ordered the spicy Tuna maki we ate a few of them and there were three each left. We asked for a takeaway box to take the small remaining Sushi home as were told that we were not allowed to take it away. When I asked why it was to stop people ordering and then leaving, fair enough. But we had not done that. It was clearly a few leftovers. I said 'So are you just going to throw it away'?, and he very proudly said "Yep, that will just be thrown away". Couldn't care less. That was really the final straw that you would happily just throw perfectly good food away for no reason at all other than spite. How strange. Food wastage is something that bothers me when considering homeless people and people who are struggling right now, so it really upset us that our food would be wasted. Even though it was a small amount. There was no need for it. I would completely understand if it was a large platter but this was 3 pieces each of tuna maki. I will also say the food and presentation is lovely and cannot be faulted, but the brunch rules are so odd because the only ones loosing out are them. Such a narrow minded business concept. I think the rules need to be explained clearly at the beginning so expectations are managed. The staff were then clearly talking about us. (It's a small place) and one staff member said 'That table there isn't happy' to which the manager replied... 'So what?' This was extremely unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. I'd like to stress that we were not rude, we were just shocked and confused about how they are so nonchalant about wasting food when so many people are struggling in the world right now. We said thank you and paid our bill including the tip, which in our opinion was not deserved. We've done a few bottomless brunches and this was by far the weirdest and most off-putting. It's such a shame because the food is really good. However, for the sake of 6 small pieces of leftover Sushi and 2 cardboard takeaway boxes, they have lost customers, reputation and I'd also planned to get a £50 gift voucher for my mom for Christmas but there was no way I was doing that after this very odd experience. I think it would be better marketed as a set menu, rather than bottomless brunch as it turns out it had a very real, very spiteful bottom.

I’ve been to this restaurant about 3 times now and have had an amazing experience every time. The food is always prepared and served with great attention to detail and the staff are always attentive, informative and always eager to help. The restaurant itself is well decorated with a cozy and clean feel. There is nothing that I can fault with any aspect of the restaurant. I will be happy to visit again soon.

2nd Time visiting. First time we went it was a little gem. But from my 2nd visit I feel like the place has dropped it standards. When we arrived we was sat down near the door, very cold outside so every time someone came in there was a cold breeze. The restaurant was very cold. Drinks took 20mins to come other tables got served drinks before us and they come after us. as we ordered just soft drinks. Asked for cola zero, received normal coke. Food wise cant complain was good, taste was good, i feel like the portion sizes have reduced a lot. Did not appreciate the service charge that was added to the bill. I refuse to pay that. Maybe I will give it another try. But not anytime soon. Thank you.

Nobody else in the restaurant on a Friday night which was a warning sign . 1 customer all Night seems like an issue. Sushi was ok. Service was ok. However the main dish was extremely salty. Staff did discount this from the bill. However it was a waste of a night for me. As there was no atmosphere of tasted I would not go back unfortunately.

The food here is absolutely delicious, made fresh to order, service is impeccable, can't do enough to help you make sure you have a pleasant experience. My favourite sushi place.

The food was amazing, we had one of the specials (salmon pockets) which was something different to any other sushi we have tried, but was very tasty and filling. The service was top notch (we were looked after by Russell who was knowledgeable on his sushi!), very friendly and quick to serve us. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family. Traveled from Lincoln to visit Sushido with local friend last night. Honestly the best sushi we've had date!! Sitting at the chefs table was an experience you must try, the staff were so friendly and informative answering all our questions Amazing recommendations from staff on what to try! The food was honestly so incredible, you could taste the quality in the ingredients, and it was so amazing watching the staff make and perfect the sushi! Honestly beautiful We will be coming down from Lincoln again to visit!!

We did the bottomless brunch with the Sake Spritz! The food was absolutely divine, each roll was perfectly made and delicious! Beautiful decoration and great vibes! The team at Sushido were so friendly and made the experience for us! Highly recommend and will absolutely be back.

Great food, atmosphere only lacked due to lack of seats filled so felt very intimate. Menu could benefit from images of food to assist with decision making - however staff were more than helpful with explaining and suggesting sufficient amounts to order as first time visiting.

Food & Drinks nice/fine but very £££ for what you get. Staff were nice but ignored us all night after initial order. Not offered a second drink or to look at food menu again (I would have liked to at least seen the dessert menu). We left still hungry. We had to keep trying to get peoples attention and were sometimes directly ignored. Our food took ages (45+ mins for sushi) and came after other peoples who ordered after us. This was our 3rd visit to Sushido and they’ve recently made a few changes. We weren’t sure it could even get better, but it did! The new frontage is lovely and welcoming and we’ve been told there will be some changes to the interior too. We tried some new cocktails and were told about how they’re drank in Japan, their traditional drinks etc. The staff are very knowledgeable and the drinks were superbly light and refreshing. The updated menu has more focus and some traditional ingredients you don’t find in other places. We tried a large variety, including vegan ‘salmon’ sushi and my lord it was UNREAL! Everything was top quality and the flavours were delicate and punch all the the same time. If you’re a sushi lover this is the place for you.

I love this place. The food is so good and the staff are really obliging. My partner is celiac and we were worried about getting glutened, so the head chef (I think his name was Mat) sat us at his table so we could see all of our food being made. He was hilarious and everything was presented beautifully. We asked for cocktail recommendations and were presented with something I can only describe as angelic. 10/10 all day long.

What can I say, we had a party of 8 and they didn’t fail to impress. The staff were absolutely amazing with great service and the food was a 10 out of 10.

Service wasn’t that good. Initially turned away for a table despite about 5 being empty then told to come back at half 8! Once arrived, we had to ask to order drinks. No one then came to take the food order for 45 minutes despite trying to get the attention of staff. It wasn’t that busy. Food was mediocre. Really over priced for what it is. Also really stingy on the wasabi and ginger. Veg tempura was actually tasteless it was like eating tasteless batter. It was hard to even tell if there was any veg there… gyoza were similar tasteless and a really unusual texture. Sushi was edible but wouldn’t rush back. Expensive price per head for the food. Also bill was wrong, added extra things on that we didn’t have. Also automatically apply gratuity which I’m happy to pay if the service is good. Bit cheeky to apply if the service is slow and terrible. Tables also so close to each other, you feel like you’re dining with people you don’t know. For the money, there’s much better places. Decor is nice though. I wouldn’t recommend going here, and I wouldn’t be rushing to return unless they got new chefs and new staff 😊 Edit: not sure if they’ve got the person right as I’ve never said “very tasty” before. Rather than acknowledge poor service they are very defensive. Doesn’t compensate for making somebody wait 45 minutes to order some below standard food. They really need to employ more staff, or have less tables may be only serve 1/2 people. The table next to me also returned some undercooked chicken. Unfortunately you can hear everything as they sit you on top of one another. I won’t be attending here again.

We visited here a few weeks ago for the first time. The restaurant was pretty quiet. We ordered maki rolls and duck spring rolls to share as a starter. We found the maki rolls quite flavourless but the duck spring rolls. I was looking forward to trying yakisoba as I've had it elsewhere and it's really tasty. However, what I was served at this restaurant was horrible. It was aesthetically unpleasing, it was all one colour with the vegetables just mush but the worst thing was the taste, it was ridiculously salty. Now I know one of the ingredients to this dish is soy sauce but that's not the only ingredient so there should have been a balance of flavours. My husband had the ramen which he said was just ok. Service was good but prices are expensive, not justified given the food isn't that great in my opinion. Doubt we would come back

A fantastic gem in Sutton Coldfield, the quality of sushi blew me away! We sat at the Sushi bar and watched our sushi being made fresh before our eyes. The pork belly starter was incredible, and the Sushido rolls are my favourite. The staff is knowledgeable and really helpful when deciding what to order; there is plenty of choice here. The sake is great, and the plum wine is beautiful! My friend was very impressed with the veggie options - the sweet potato and "Vegan" Salmon sushi roll was her favourite. I'm looking forward to my next visit, we are lucky to have this in Sutton.

Used to be lovely but the the last 2 times have been really bad. Maki rolls are pretty tasteless with water still in the rice. Everything is completely overpriced. I wont be visiting again when there are much better and cheaper places to eat.
