Yokoso Japan in Barnet

Usually we have no issues with this restaurant, except this time we were delivered and uneatable dish.

Delicious and reasonably priced

I visited Yokoso on a friend’s recommendation and I have to say, it really impressed me. The menu is extensive, offering both classic Japanese and Korean dishes. I especially recommend the sushi — fresh and tasty — and the bulgogi, which was perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant and relaxed, making it ideal for a casual lunch or dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful, although they seemed a little busy at times, which meant the drinks took a bit longer to arrive. The only downside was the parking — it’s quite limited, so finding a free spot can be difficult, especially during peak hours. All in all, Yokoso is a great place for authentic Japanese and Korean cuisine. I’ll definitely be back, probably during quieter hours to avoid parking issues.

The little restaurant tucked away makes you feel like you are in Japan. The food is immaculate and filling, as well as reasonably priced. Would 100% recommend to anyone who is craving Asian food.

This is my favourite Japanese in High Barnet. Food is amazing, prices are great and staff is lovely.

food was so bad I had to throw it all away...

I'm really sad because I wanted to love this place so bad!! especially because I live so close that I wanted to make this my regular place to order from. However there are stale parts in my rice, my edamame tastes microwaved (i eat edamame all of the time and i have microwaved it myself in the past and it tasted the same with the same look that it gets when you microwaved it) and the chicken is scraps of chicken like ends of wings or the meat from a chicken thigh and very fatty and lots of skin on the meat. They were Friendly when collecting food but unfortunately i won't be ordering from here again because I've had to throw it all away :( please don't microwave edamame it takes no time to make it from fresh

Would be nice to know that we needed to provide a code. The delivery driver simply repeated the word 'code' over and over again. Didn't know what he meant

They cook pork and halal chicken on the same grill - not sure if the woman understood what I was asking but a lot of Muslims won’t eat the chicken because pork is cooked on the same place, you could either clean the grill before you make halal chicken or use a separate grill, thanks

Delicious food and charming service. The Nasu Dengaku was so delicious that - for the first time in my life - I ate the entire aubergine, skin and all.

There was a sandwich board outside, advertising any teriyaki for £6 as a lunchtime offer. Great deal I thought — I sat down to order. My food came in a takeaway container and carrier bag and I was bemused. I then said “I was hoping to eat in …” the lady said “the offer only applies to takeaway”, however, the sandwich board made no reference to that. Actually rather appalled by this. It’s clearly false advertising and therefore illegal. The couple behind me said they were also dubbed by the sandwich board.

Food tasted bad , didn’t get half my food missing , to much money.

Delicious quality food. Sashimi is always so fresh. Had tempura udon and the broth was spot on.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in north London it’s just such a little hidden gem in this part of the town. Love their eel bento box and katsu curry. Complementary Japanese tea always makes me feel very welcoming ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

Ordered via Uber eats and nevvaaa again. Katsu was very standard and there WAS HAIR in my chicken yakotori skewers. I bit into them and it tasted disgusting and I spat out the chicken and found the hair wrapped round almost the whole skewer

Went here and had gyu don and edamame. Was the only one there for lunch and was dead silent.. so could hear the microwave go which wasn't a great first sign... Food was edible and filled me up but being Japanese, I can say with confidence that the reviews that say the food is authentic are not true. There wasn't much beef in the gyu don, the rice was in parts stale as some bits were hard and got stuck in my teeth.. was quite expensive for what it was. Whole restaurant felt a bit half hearted, sorry.

The food arrived cold. The chicken was so dry and the rice portion was so small. The sushi didn’t taste fresh. Called them to find out where the order was but no one picked up. Very disappointing.

I have ordered from Yokoso several times now and never been disappointed. Delicious teriyaki chicken and spinach with sesame dressing.

Simply brilliant. West End quality food, the best restaurant in High Barnet

Pictures shows how much of my food was left over. Ramen was drastically flavourless, noodles soggy and it won’t cheap either. Staff not friendly didn’t even ask why I didn’t touch my food. I left after 5 mins, it hurt me to pay full price and service charge too. I guess there is reason why it’s never busy. I can’t believe the 5 star reviews are real.

Delish & authentic Japanese food. Lovely quiet spot, great value for money and friendly service. Highly recommend the agedashi tofu, takoyaki and mackerel! Can't wait come back and try the rest of the menu 😄 thank you for a delicious lunch!

Ordered via Uber eats and unfortunately never had such poorly portioned sushi in my life. Tasted like rice and sauce due to stingy fish portion. See pics I've uploaded. Prices seemed reasonable but again due to portioning actually a rip off. Won't be ordering from here again.

I ordered some basic sushi and got what expected, portion medium, standard salmon sushi. Croquette was amazing, though.

All clean and good sized portions but the taste was not as I had expected. Too greasy . And, please use biodegradable packaging

Excellent food, especially the chicken ramen.

I love this place. If you want authentic Japanese cuisine, look no further. I’ve dined in once (I definitely will be again), and I order takeaway often. The food is incredible (my favourites are the croquette curry and the ramen vegetable soup. The green tea is unlike any other!!) The servers are very kind and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely and cosy in the restaurant. You don’t have to wait long for the food at all, and it’s of an incredibly high standard with fresh ingredients. Delivery is always super speedy, and I definitely rely on this place after work / if I’m just craving Japanese food :) Cannot speak more highly of this place!

Was having a walk through High Barnet looking for something to eat and saw this place. Decided to go in and it was the best decision I could have made that day. The Chicken Katsu Curry was delicious. Cooked to perfection. I also couldn't stop looking at the pictures of sumo wrestlers on the wall.

Nice, cozy restaurant on Barnet high street. Great food, big portions and good value for money. Excellent staff who are very attentive and helpful.

We think this restaurant is a great local restaurant to Barnet high street, big potion and tasty, have nothing to complain about. I also think the price is very reasonable.

Very tasty chicken katsu curry, beautifully presented despite it being takeaway. Two points to flag, the skin on the chicken kept coming off, might be nice to remove it or cook it differently before putting it in the batter (not sure what the solution is). The second is if they can add a little bit more sauce, it was so delicious but not enough for the whole rice. First time trying this place and will definitely order again and try their other dishes.
