White Fish in Barnet

This restaurant has just reopened and has an extensive fish menu. We had a very nice meal there and hope to return in the future.

Chips were dry, stale, hard and fish batter did not have much flavour. The price was extremely expensive at 16.50 for 1 fish and chips. I can get enough food for 2-3 people at some other take aways. No value for money and was disappointed. Wouldn't recommend

Really unique food. I don't know why they have a picture of sushi on the web site - it's not at all sushi related. Fish/chips + curries was the bulk of the menu. Not very expensive.

I had the fish soup and was very good. Hearty and very well spiced. The grilled seabass marinated in olive oil and wine was excellent! And the green fish curry was perfectly spiced with a lovely coconut milk base. All in all outstanding. Service was very attentive. Kudos to the new Management!

Excellent Thai green curry - It does taste like Thai curry but not enough and misses real tang, chilli and bamboo shoots. Fresh ingredients and beautifully made otherwise.

Haddock fish and chips. The fish was very nice. However the cips were terrible,the cook from frozen kind by the looks of things and dont know how long ago were they cooked,dry and very hard,not crunchy just hard. Tartar sauce was good too, made the chips go down a bit easier. So avoid the chips and you'll be fine

Walked in waited for half an hour then saw them putting already fried chips back inside the oil. Back home and chips all hollow inside full of oil and inedible. Paid almost £50 and made to wait almost 30 ahead of all the Deliveroo drivers :(

Always a pleasure and indeed delight. Never had a less than excellent experience here, be that with the food or service. Everything is nice but I personally recommend the grilled salmon/teriyaki salmon.

Absolutely fantastic takeaway meal from White Fish. The food travelled so well. The fish and chips were "the real deal". Hot, crispy and fresh. The mushy peas also satisfied this very fussy northerner. I have eaten in at White Fish numerous times too and had an brilliant experience and excellent food every time. Love the warm and friendly staff too!

We have just had a delicious dinner from White Fish. Ordered ahead and it was ready at the time advised to collect. The generous portions of fish and chips were exceptional.

The tables were a bit squashed together. .Large portions. Make sure the cap of the ,many times refilled ,water bottle is clean. Ours was black and moldy!!!!!!

I come here so regularly yet I always struggle to decide what to have as everything on the menu is so good! Easily the best kosher restaurant in London! So good that many non kosher people choose to eat here.

Excellent service from the staff who were so kind and considerate. Food was delicious.

The owner/manager, a lovely sounding American lady was very helpful over the phone! She was very attentive. The Seabass was a little pricey, but the flavour was worth it, with some steamed rice and a drink was all I needed this evening and was very pleasant. Definitely will eat from here again!

Extremely delicious food! The dishes were lovely, the seabass was really good and the crispy cod with garlic was great. But to top it all off the thai red curry with haddock was incredible. Been to Thailand three times but haven’t tried a red curry as delicious as here. Next time will try the green curry! Staff and owners really lovely too. We will definitely be back again. Thank you!

They can't be bothered to remove cappuccino etc from their Menu just like that can't be bothered to buy a latte/cappuccino machine. They use the same "coffee machine has broken down" unconvincing rouse that they've been using over the last 3 years or so. Pity, really, because we enjoyed the soup and fish and chips. Although, my friend had to ask 3 times for them to turn on the heating. Not sure they did as they never confirmed they had. He won't return there.

Hello, if you want sushi 🍣 DO NOT GO THERE. 2 out of 4 dishes were not available. Waitress asked us wether we need soya sauce (to eat with sushi? of course! no need to ask! ) toilet door does not lock! instead of electric dryer (hanging on the wall but does not work! ) there is dirty towel!! yuk! Terrible old furniture and absolutely gross chairs (see photo). And absolutely ridiculously high prices!

Always fresh, always tasty and generous portions! The battered fish and crispy chips are the best around. Also - a full sushi menu. Take your family or have a business meeting here, there’s something on the menu for everyone. They are even better on Deliveroo!

Waited 4 minutes for them to answer the phone and was immediately told 'to hold on'. Waited a further 18 minutes listening to them take orders from people in the restaurant, before putting the phone down. Phoned again later to tell them how frustrated I was, and was told 'it was because they were busy.' Gave them an order but when I asked for a delivery they told me I shouldn't have phoned them but deliveroo. A complete waste of time and showed no concern. Don't know how good the food is - as I never got any!

Never been there but I have got their food in via Deliveroo. Excellent food, packed to stay hot, and plenty of it. Highly recommended.

We had the most fantastic food last night from start to finish, I had the tastiest fish soup and now want the recipe as was delicious and my husband had the leek & potato soup then was followed by very soft grilled haddock which was overlapping the plate absolutely fab food every single time Please can I have the fish soup recipe !!!!

Had it with Israeli salad and mushy peas. Everything was nice and tasty but small measured quantities. Twice the amount of portions for each of the items would have made the £23 costworthy. When they have increased the portion sizes I'll be happy to order again.

Huge portions, consistent top quality, fresh, tasty and imaginative dishes make this a compelling restaurant and take away. The owners and staff are really helpful and a pleasure to deal with, This - especially the portion size - make this really good value for money/quality.

Had a lovely evening at White Fish, one of kosher Hendon's secrets that alot of people forget about! Really good quality fish and lots of options. It can be a bit expensive though unfortunately. Most discussing place ever!!! I ariver today at 9:20 but they told that they closed early today as they didn't have costumes from 9 so I told them that I came a way from an hour and me and my wife are hungry but all they had to say is that he doesn't understand what I'm saying(he made him self like coz he didn't have what to answer) a big chek never go there it's not worth your Time!!!!!

Nobody who lives locally seemed to have heard of this place, and when we pulled up outside its unprepossessing premises we suspected we realised why: it’s nothing special from the outside, and it fact it looks like it’s just a takeaway. And there isn’t a LOT of demand for a kosher fish restaurant. Two hours later and we were telling a different story. The food was great, with an extensive menu, and all seven of us having gone away replete. My Thai green fish curry was lovely, and the kids all loved their meals, especially the cod goujons and the chips. The portions were good, and the staff were delightful and helpful. The dessert menu is a bit sparse (just three items on it), and it’s not the cheapest of places, but it really deserves a higher profile than it seems to have. The restaurant was empty apart from us - so spread the word!

Thought we wouid venue out for the £10 government scheme. Fish curry great as always fish cakes nice and good house white. First restaurant that have taken my temperature. Covid safe. Service - by Shamika fantastic staff member. Beeping sound from alarm news sorting very annoying.

We are regular visitors as we live close by. The food is all good and the owners are really helpful and friendly. We have used White Fish for catering events too and the food has been wonderful. Highly recommended.

Nothing wrong with the food or with the service - the problem is the prices. My haddock and chips cost £17.50 plus service. That's considerably more than, for example, the Ivy or the Royal Automobile Club. And while the food quality - and the atmosphere - at those places is outstanding, this was ok but nothing special. With a packed and appreciative clientele I doubt they'll worry but we will not be back.

הגעתי מעט לפני הסגירה ובכל זאת התקבלתי על ידי הבעלים באדיבות ובנועם. הזמנתי מנת דג ברוטב הודי שהוגשה עם אורז לבן, הטעמים היו נפלאים וזה היה מעדן. גם מרק הדגים ומנת הסיגר היו מעולים, אולם גולת הכותרת זו האדיבות ומאור הפנים של בעל המסעדה שהוא גם כנראה השף. היה ממש חשוב לו לדעת שהאוכל טוב וטעים לנו, והדאגה הייתה אמיתית. מקום מאוד מומלץ!

Had cod and chips and it tasted pretty miserable, I could have left a two or maybe even 3 star review had the food being the same price as a normal chip shop the food and drink was eye wateringly expensive and certainly not as good as a supermarket cafe food, not sure if they batter their own fish but it didn't taste like they did it tasted like frozen fish fried in a frier. I raised an eyebrow looking at the prices when I arrived and knew deep down I would regret staying but I was hoping they would be really good quality and worth the money.... They weren't! Would absolutely avoid. Also just taken a look at the receipt and on top of exorbitant prices and substandard food they also charge a service charge on top! Does the saying I often use "taking the...." Can't remember off the top of my head the rest of the sentence you make the rest up!

Ah, y el extenso menú de sushi definitivamente vale la pena. Servicio muy amigable. Los precios son razonables para la calidad.

Just perfect. Friendly family run business. Always greeted with a smile and always happy to chat. The food is spot on and the prices are just right. I highly recommend this restaurant to eat in or take away. Fantastic.

הסושי באמת טעים.המחירים דיי טובים, לא מתקמצנים על הדג.סשימי, החתיכות ממש יפות.סך הכל מבחינת הסושי עצמו, ללקק אצבעות.אבל ויש אבל גדול.אנחנו זוג שאוהבים לגוון ברטבים חוץ מסויה המסורתי.הזמנו מאקי ספייסי סלמון וטונה, הספייסי ברות היה נגיעה ממש של ספייסי מיונז מעל הרול שכמעט ולא הורגש.היינו צריכים לבקש רטבים, רק הסויה הוגש אוטומטית.הטריאקי היה לדעתי מזעזע, טעם מורגש של קינמון (מי מכין טריאקי עם קינמון???).ספייסי מיונז הרגיש כמו מיונז עם נגיעה של חריפות כל כך לא מורגשת שהיינו בטוחים שמדובר במיונז עם צבע מאכל כתום.הצ'ילי הרגיש דליל מאוד, כאילו דיללו במים.בתור זוג שיוצא הרבה לסושיות, בנינו על המקום ממש כשהזמנו טיסה ללונדון. התאכזבנו יחסית.למי שאוהב סושי וסויה, המקום מעולה.לחובבי רטבים וטעמים, קצת פחות.דבר מרגיז נוסף, אני לא יודע אם זה מקובל באנגליה ככה, אבל בחשבון הם כבר כללו גם 12.5% טיפ....אנחנו לא אנשים שלא משאירים טיפ, אך מרגיז שבעצם מכריחים אותך להשאיר טיפ במקום לתת מקום לשיפוט הלקוח לפי חווית השירות שחווה, כמה טיפ להשאיר. למרות שתכננו להשאיר טיפ גבוה יותר מ12.5%, לא השארנו רק בגלל הקטע הזה.

Very over priced for what it is. Not somewhere you would eat alone for a quick on the go lunch. The service was very nice and the staff but just a huge let down on the prices. The place needs to look and feel more than what it is if they are going to charge that kind of monkey. In a nutshell it's a glorified chip shop with Harrods pricing.

The lady at the cash desk was rude and arrogant. Not having a booking is not a reason to be rude. The fish and chips are poor and overpriced. Avoid this place there are better kosher restaurants with better food and less arrogant people working there.

Es difícil para nosotros encontrar un buen pescado kosher, así que decidimos probar este restaurante en nuestra corta visita a Londres. Está a unos 45 minutos en metro y en autobús desde el centro de Londres, pero merece la pena. Tenía salmón que venía con verduras mixtas y era tan bueno como el que he tenido y mi esposa tenía fideos picantes tailandeses con verduras que eran excelentes. Las raciones eran buenas y los precios justos.

Taste is gr8 for a English fish house! Caution the deserts can be tiny so make sure u ask what size you getting. Food is fresh, tasty and reasonable price Theirs parking too

First class food at reasnable prices

Its a bit sad that our expectations are so low from the kosher scene in North West London but experience has taught us to expect the worst and then we can only be surprised. This is what happened at White Fish. We had a superb meal, reasonably priced (for NW London kosher fish!) and pleasant service. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

I've been here on several occasions and tasted different dished. The food here is honestly the best I have ever had (and this is including fish in non kosher restaurants) Would highly recommend, worth every penny, than you so much :)
