The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Had lunch here with three friends on August bank holiday Monday during the Sandwich Festival when the restaurant was fairly busy but not packed. We all ordered pizzas and then waited a very long time noticing that other customers who had arrived later were being served before us. One pizza arrived 25 mins after ordering and we waited another 10 minutes for the other three. All came on disposable plates with flimsy disposable wooden cutlery which proved incapable of sawing through the tough pizza base which had not been pre-cut into segments. After breaking two forks and making no impression on the pizza base with the knife I asked for metal cutlery and was informed that they had none. When I explained the problem and expressed my unhappiness the waiter shrugged his shoulders and wandered off leaving me no option but to tear my pizza into pieces with my bare hands. Thereafter no member of staff paid any attention to us and I had to go to the counter to order desserts and pay the bill. If you insist on eating here I recommend bringing your own cutlery.

I really enjoyed this pizza. I ate on the pavement watching the world go by I’m the characterful Exmouth Market. Service was very nice and they are really dog friendly - dog treats, not just a water bowl! It’s a good spot.

Lovely service, amazing authentic northern Italian cuisine. I eat out in London a lot but especially trying to find good local Italian joints. just. utterly. delicious. will be going back again and again!!

My friend and I were visiting Crosby and decided to stop for lunch. Food OK but service awful. Young girl pleasant, can't say the same about the older woman who served our food. No smile, no pleasantries, i wouldn't say she was rude but her attitude wasn't. If you work in hospitality, be hospitable. A smile goes a long way. Won't go back.

Warm welcome, excellent customer care and delicious food. Rich, deep flavours, good size portions and a lovely relaxed casual dining experience.

There was eleven of us we all ordered different items from the menu and all the food arrived hot and well presented and enjoyable the atmosphere was nice reasonable priced worth going again

Esta fue una experiencia gastronómica fantástica en general. Todo el personal era encantador, amable, bien informado y siempre sirviendo con una sonrisa. Las recomendaciones para el vino para adaptarse a mi gusto eran perfectas. Los especiales fueron increíbles. Los langostinos argentinos eran frescos y carnosos, y el filete de costilla se cocinó a la perfección. Came for a birthday dinner and had a lovely evening; very reasonably priced for a bottle of wine, starter and two mains. Service was quick, food all served piping hot & fresh. Each dish was delicious! Great decor and atmosphere. Contrary to some reviews, we found the waiter/owner very friendly and we had a wonderful evening - would visit again.

Solo una opción vegana para pizza, ninguna de las otras tenía una opción vegana. Y aunque afirmaba que había una opción vegana de postre, el helado, de hecho no estaba disponible. Esto me ha pasado aquí una y otra vez hoy, realmente arruinó la noche para todos nosotros. Mi familia tuvo que comer sus pudines mirándome sentarme sin nada. Se siente avergonzado. Si a sodo le importaran los veganos, tal vez ofrecerían una bebida de cortesía o algo así, pero no les importa que los clientes veganos se sientan descuidados, por no hablar del hambre. Muy decepcionante.

Not enough staff and food appalling. My sister and I ordered Tuscan soup to start (which I had ordered before and liked) but it was totally inedible as it tasted sour as if it was off and we had to send it back, so just had bread that came with it. My main was spaghetti bolognaise which has very little sauce and had to ask for more. The dessert I had was chocolate cake with mascapone cream. The cake itself was heavy and there was only a teaspoon of mascapone cream served with it so again had to ask for more. So the starter, main and dessert were all disappointing. They also didn't have any mash which was meant to come with my sister's main.

1.after not having breakfast because I was excited to having our special anniversary lunch. So disappointed!!It was an awful veggie meal. Didn’t eat my bruschetta.Slice of bread with beef chopped tomatoes. Main meal worse. A truffle resotto. A few mushrooms and rice over cooked with that test of vegetables oil. Could not eat it awful.

Only had coffee & cake but it was great & the staff very efficient & friendly.

Clearly very popular but despite being busy the staff found a table for our party of 4. Great coffee and a fabulous menu choice. The staff were very helpful, efficient and attentive. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent food with good size portions . Relaxed atmosphere and great service from Carlo And his team . Set menu very good value. We had A la Carte which was lovely . Lucky to have it in Fetcham .
