Outstanding food and service, could not fault anything. The buffalo mozzarella starter was a delight and the Filetto Al Dolcelatte (medium rare) was RIDICULOUSLY good! Lovely mango sorbet to finish off. Very reasonably priced for a table of 6, we very much look forward to visiting again!

Carlo opened his restaurant on Sunday lunchtime in order for us to celebrate our 70th birthday with friends and family. What a fantastic time we had. Carlo and his staff ensured that the 38 people present were able to enjoy a three course meal, superbly cooked and presented by Giuseppe. Our guests could understand why we have been visiting this restaurant for the last 25 years. Thank you for making our day very special. Linda & Roy.

The food here is amazing. One of the best restaurants around. They have a varied menu and good wine list, and Carlo and the rest of the staff are very friendly. It is a great place to eat.

Visited with friends on Fri 29th. Warm welcome attendance by Carlo with his dry wit and staff. Excellent service and food quality. I had the asparagus wrapped in ham for starter and calves liver for main course. All food and drinks presented and tasted beautiful.

Sauces were poor Not cosy like it looked like from outside , clinical interior Raw ingredients were good quality just badly executed

I have been going to this restaurant for 12 Years and have always had a lovely fresh Meal, the food is always fresh and made to order. The Palma Ham & Mellon is my go to starter Chicken Milanese with spaghetti in tomato sauce fresh Mushrooms & zucchini It is cooked to order fresh and you can always ask for what you like . Even Better they have Moretti on draft

We have been visiting Carlo’s for many years. We know that we will always get a lovely fresh cooked meal and exceptional service. The sea bass is the best! It’s a family run independent business which appeals to us more. We would 100% highly recommend visiting this restaurant. There is nothing to fault at all.

When we arrived the restaurant was chilly and the atmosphere felt quite clinical. My wife had a 2 course meal and I had a set menu each with a glass of wine (one small, one large) for £84 + service = £98! The food was nicely presented Italian but nothing particularly special. Everything seemed to be an expensive extra (starters are around £12-22! and vegetables (more). Over £18 for a large glass of standard Chianti. When we questionned the bill, the owner seemed quite unhelpful. Eventually he agreed to remove the "additional service charge" already added to the bill. Won't be back!

A group of about a dozen of our Ethnic Dining Group had a most enjoyable meal here. We had made our choices in advance which helped to make the service most efficient. I was very happy with my prawn and mango starter, followed by liver, which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by tasty courgette fritters, saute potatoes and broccoli in white sauce. My partner was equally happy with his tilapia. We'll certainly pay a return visit.

Took Saturday evening dinner here recently , first visit after a number of years, Called to book, and was told there was limited availability. When we arrived the place was half empty, and b6 the time we left around 9 pm, only one couple remained, soon late rush then. The food was variable. Fish mix of whitebait and calamari deep fried was over cooked and the calamitous too thin hence no flavour,,,only the batter. Mains were tasty for our party of four. The biggest negative for me was the atmosphere. Cold and very, very echoing. With the room only half full it was difficult to have a conversation with the reflected echoing conversations of the other diners. It was also on the chilly side, definitely a few degrees below the optimum. The clientele is mostly older in profile.I suspect eating here as they have for many years and don’t want to change from what they know. At £150 for four people , two courses only of which mostly pasta, not great VFM IMHO. It’s been a few years since last here, will not be back again,,,,for a while …

Visited this fabulous restaurant last week with some friends who are lucky to live nearby. Excellent food , portions on the large side ✔️…..I had the sliced duck in Grand Marnier sauce - absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Service was first class , I can’t wait to return !

If you’re looking for a quiet covid-safe environment with excellent fine dining this is definitely the place to pick. Don’t worry or hesitate to book. We need to keep our local shops and restaurants - especially the special ones like this. In all my time living in Fetcham I wasn’t aware they also have a private room upstairs for up to 24 people too. We ate like kings this evening. One had steak, another scallops, another monkfish - all done to an extremely high standard including perfectly cooked vegetables and delicious roast potatoes with a hint of fresh rosemary. Like Arnie - We’ll be back! A very merry Christmas to everyone and let’s hope we can all be together more next year.

We celebrated our daughters 18th birthday with a family meal. As usual the welcome was warm , food excellent and they accommodated a cake we bought helping me present it well and lighting sparklers and candles . We had a lovely evening . Thank you Carlo and his team 😊

Wife and I are regular diners at Da Carlo’s. We wondered what would happen with the succession of lockdowns but Carlo has managed to keep things going by offering a take away and/or delivery service. We have used this regularly. The menu is the same as at the restaurant, and Carlo offers specials occasionally. We have always had our orders delivered and they have arrived on time. Food comes in tin foil containers so it’s kept warm. All in all, a good and very welcome service. We look forward to the time when things are sort-of back to normal and we can visit the restaurant again.

Usually dine in for valentines but due to lock down , had the set valentines menu as a takeaway . The food was hot , delicious and freshly made . Looking forward to visiting the restaurant when lock down ends!

Classic Italian cooking and welcoming staff

First date night after covid with hubby . Very impressed with attention to keep us all safe with all staff wearing masks and tables , chairs and menus all sanitised after customer use . It was busy but Despite this the food was lovely as usual ( photo of first course ) and main course really hot with steak done to perfection . Pudding and coffee after and nice bottle of Pinot Grigio . Carlo had found out both my parents had passed away from Covid 19 and made a point of saying how sorry he was . Meant a lot . We will be back for another date night !

As relatively-regular diners at Carlo's, thanks to the 'C-word' we were missing our steaks and decided to use Carlo's take-away service for a Saturday evening steak-fix. The big question was - were they going to be as good as they are in the restaurant?They were! The two fillet steaks we ordered, along with the usual 'sides', arrived hot, on time (well, 5 minutes early) and cooked to perfection. All we needed to complete the illuson that we were in the restaurant was Carlo's wit and banter and 'Princess's' charm and sparkling service. And someone to do the washing up...'Saluti!' Carlo & co - we'll be ordering again and hope to see you sometime in July (and let you do the washing up!).

Good local Italian restaurant, food and ambiance excellent

We treat ourselves to a meal when financially able and our local Italian never disappoints . The food is plentiful , fresh and good ! There is always a good selection and specials . The owner and staff are attentive and we had a liquor on the house . The restaurant is contemporary but maintains an intimate Italian village feel to it . Bringing mum and dad back soon to enjoy what we experienced.

Love the family feel and real authentic Italian food, we will be back ! They are happy to accommodate different versions on the menu if not a meat eater and the wine goes down far too well 🥂

I enjoyed a belated birthday meal at this favourite restaurant. The atmosphere and service - brilliant. We had the 3 course set menu it was delicious. Certainly a place to visit.

This restaurant is on my doorstep, yet this was my first visit....we had the (reasonably varied) set 2 course menu which was exceptional value (7 of us dining on a Tuesday lunchtime) and the great food was washed down with a very acceptable Sauvignon.The atmosphere was a little quiet (there was just one other table occupied with two diners) and would probably benefit from a little light background music.The service was attentive, the food was beautifully presented and the ingredients were cooked to perfection.The decor is clean and modern. I would definitely visit again.

We had dinner for four between Christmas and New Year. It's our favourite place locally for traditional Italian...nice mushroom and prawn starters, great saltimbocca and fegato and the usual Italian desserts. The service is fine and friendly - we were welcomed back. The previous review is not our experience and we've eaten here several times over the last couple of years since it was refurbished. Give it a try - it's a good local eatery.

Me and my girlfriend thought we would try for lunch, despite hearing awful things from our neighbour. We visited and the owner looked fed up, mosg likely because he knows his business is doomed. It was empty. The owner then preceeded to be extremely rude whem asked what was good. The menu is not italian food, it is 1970 style English vile Italian rip off over priced rubbish. He was so rude to my girlfriend that we got up and left. This man was like Basil Fawlty but in charge of a restaurant. Should be ashamed

Celebrating my birthday tonight with family. Had not been here for a while and found a warm welcome from the owner and updated menu with plenty of choice. The food was freshly cooked and all was excellent and despite the restaurant being busy came out at the right time and perfectly cooked . The waiters were attentive and Anthony was great making us all laugh . Will definitely be back .

I enjoyed a 2 course meal(£15.50) on Friday evening 20 April.This consisted of 1.Avocado Margherita and followed by 2. Vitello Valdostana the latter was veal esc.ham and mozzarella cheese.Both courses were delicious. I have been many times before and the standard is always very high.

As it was my Birthday, my Mother treated me to a meal at this lovely local restaurant. We have been here several times over the years and it never fails to deliver. The food is always freshly cooked and we have always found the waiting staff very friendly. Cant wait to go back for our next visit.

Wonderfully impressed. We have used Carlos for many years, I visited last night with my family, on arriving I was a little worried as there was a large party there around 50 people, however the service, quality of food was still exceptional being able to cater for such a large party and still Produce excellenance is fantastic. Well done to Carlo and his Team and obviously a Great Head Chef!

We have visited this restaurant a few times since buying a flat in Fetcham and I must say both my wife and I have been incredibly impressed.

It was quite some years since I had visited this restaurant, until a recent visit for a meal with friends. It has quite a spacious interior and it was good to find plenty of space between tables, so chatting was easy. The menu is extensive and, generally, most reasonably priced, with set meal options for both lunch and dinner. I chose lasagne, which was excellent and my friends were also pleased with their choices. Sadly my dessert of tiramisu was not the best and actually was rather tasteless. Sorry to say that's I found the attitude of the waiters rather puzzling. I don't think I saw a smile all evening, one of them persistently leaned across us to collect plates, even though there was plenty of room. We had to ask for the dessert menu to be read out after the waiter just stood there, all very strange. I don't expect staff to fawn over me, but this fell well short of good professional service. A nice restaurant with an excellent value menu, just a shame about the attitude.

My son's Special Needs School chose this restaurant as a venue to host their school leavers celebration evening on 28th June 2017. A non-refundable charge of £20 per head was paid to the restaurant in advance, approximately 1 month before the scheduled date. Sadly on that morning of the event, my Mother in Law passed away. Given the short notice, I contacted the restaurant to notify them of our cancellation and asked if they would consider refunding the advance payment, in view iof the exceptional circumstances. The Proprietor 'Carlo', offered a meal there on another evening insteas. When I explained that we lived some distance away from the restaurant and that we were unlikely to visit there for a meal, he then very reluctantly agreed to speak to the Deputy Head at the school and arrange a refund. The following week I contacted the school, only to discover that no refund was forwarded on to them. When I contacted 'Carlo' at the restaurant, he, somewhat offensively, implied that we had made up some elaborate excuse and refused to refund the money. A VERY RUDE AND IGNORANT MAN! Given the unfortunate situation most decent people would have obliged, clearly 'Carlo' does not fit into this category!! Needless to say we would not recommend this restaurant.

We enjoyed a really lovely meal at da Carlo's this evening. The food was excellent & so too was the service. We were made to feel very welcome & the staff could not do enough for us. We really enjoyed our evening & hope to visit again soon. Strongly recommended.

Took relatives here for a meal after finding it had reopened. We had varying views on our food but the downside was the attitude of the person who I took to be the owner or at least manager. Little of a welcome, no friendliness during service and no inquiry as to whether we had enjoyed our meal. At least the young waiter didn't suffer from the same shortcomings.

We saw the Trattoria Da Carlo while driving through Fetcham and stopped mainly because there was a parking space right outside. A friendly greeting and good food from the 2-course lunch menu served by attentive staff who were very patient with our 9 month-old toddler. The decor is good too. Next time we are in the area and need a meal, we will be back for sure.

Typical English Italian restaurant. They serve carbonara with cream (Italians don't) and just basic English versions of 1960s dishes. Also decorated like a nightclub in scarface from the 80s. Nice owner though!

We had a really lovely experience here recently July 16, they have had a major refurb and the place looks great. The staff were very friendly and polite, the service was great and the food was amazing, lots of selection - not a Pizza place, a proper Italian. Would highly recommend !!

We visited this restaurant about 10-12 years ago and found the quality of food poor, portions small and expensive. The restaurant slowly went down hill so the owners revamped the decor and menu to bring them in to 2016 style. After the revamp we saw a sign advertising a music evening which we booked up. As there were going to be 14 of us they asked for a deposit...no problem. On the night we arrived and found it to be a "4 Course Set Menu'. I can't recall being informed of this or seeing it advertised as such. Breaded starters came out followed by more starters with loads on the plate (far too much and off putting, although it tasted fresh and OK. The next course, well that was stodgy to say the least, Risotto and Pasta served on the same plate it didn't look vey appetising. The main course arrived not very well presented and every thing came in quick succession without a pause. Dessert was served soon after, we had profiteroles, well the presentation wasn't so good on that either and needless to say I didn't eat them. One of my party sent the dessert back and changed it for something else. The service was a bit frantic and the bill was expensive for the quality of food. The clientele were 60+ so not really a restaurant for the young. We asked for JD and Cokes and they had none. The band were good musicians but music was tame and catered for the over 65's. We all wanted this to be so good as it would be nice to be able to walk to the local Italian Restaurant but sadly it's not to be. The food is no more than bad home cooking in my opinion. The best thing the owners can do is employ a trained chef, go out and eat in an Italian restaurant themselves to see how the food is served, note what's on the menu because the Da Carlo is stuck in the 70's. Very disappointing we wont be back.

Carlo's has recently had a very extensive makeover (no sign of Gordon Ramsey thankfully) which has brought the decor very up to date. Great improvement on the old look. We went for the 3 course set dinner at £19.90 a head. My wife had soup which I sampled and which was fine, I had veal cannelloni in a tomato and cheese sauce which I thought was amazing, way better than anything bought from any supermarkets finest range. For mains my wife had salmon in a sauce with grapes, being a proper resaturant they could leave out the prawns from the sauce which she's allergic to, something not possible at some of the 'it arrives here in a bag' chain restaurants. I enjoyed a butterflied chicken breast in a cream and wine sauce with mushrooms and asparagus. These were served with some fried courgettes (very tasty), saute potatoes and broccoli in a mild cheese sauce. Desserts we enjoyed creme caramel, a bit sweet for my taste and a very good trifle, I don't do trifle but I enjoyed my tasters, again not like you might buy in the supermarket. For under £20 I thought this represented really good value for money and it was good. It included roll, butter and bread sticks. And linen napkins, yes a proper restaurant.Yes, one of the waiters probably could do with an afternoon at waiter school, Carlo is maybe a bit taciturn but there is a twinkle in his eye. The seats mentioned in another review I found comfortable. From 20 years ago when I used to go a lot I remember a young lady bringing round the dessert trolley (the original trolley dolly?), now Carlo just reels off the long list. No doubt keeping everything in the fridge is better for us but it was a bit of enjoyable theatre and we missed that.We had a very good evening at Carlo's, not rushed, able to enjoy tasty and well presented meals in pleasant surroundings. Our meal for two with wine, coffee and service was £60 and I thought represented very good value, I have paid far more locally and enjoyed it a lot less.Thoroughly recommended and we will make sure we visit again.

Went here this week and what a good evening we had. The whole restaurant has been refurbished since we last came and what an improvement now very modern, comfortable, light and airy. Lovely decor with interesting pictures. The food was as good as it has always been, well presented and served by friendly waiters. Will be back again.

Our first visit. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was clumsy and a bit chaotic. Waiters would benefit from some training in how to serve very off putting when an arm is thrust in front of you to pass a plate to another diner or when veg is spooned across the table instead of being served from the side . Food two of the mains were fairly bland and the others were good. Presentation was poor, old small plates with insufficient room for veg which had to be placed on a side plate. Sauces were slopped around the plate and no thought had been given to the appearance of the dishes. At approx. £45 per head I expected a slightly better dining experience.

Saturday evening was fine and Trattoria Da Carlo was busy but the 2 lunchtime visits were completely different - indifferent service and empty restaurant.The latest visit has convinced me never to eat here again! The staffs attitude was bordering on rude- their customer service seems to change like the weather!The food is good and the refurbishment is an improvement.However,I will never again patronise a restaurant that makes customers feel they are intruding!

Visited on Saturday evening and restaurant full - even turning people away. Lovely new look to the place and food and menu the same variety and good quality. A local haunt and an asset to Fetcham village - will still be on our list of favourite places to dine.

I normally write a simple review short and to the point, but carlo's renovation deserves more care... Have been enjoying this establishment for over 9 years, it was always a place where you could enjoy good food and it's a local business. It had become tired... And old fashioned but now it has undergone a makeover it looks a stylish "Milan" eatery bright primary colours fashionable art adorning the walls, new everything - chairs, tables, crockery, cutlery, menus and the menu the walls have a good stone effect, ground floor conveniences, floor nicely tiled in fact the whole place looks and feels good. Carlo always makes you feel at home, some of the serving staff need to improve to his standard. The food choice is a little different but on a busy sat night it was well prepared, speedily served and tasted good. Being super critical the chairs were a wee uncomfortable and wieldy other than that a place we shall continue to use. Not cheap - good selection of wines... Very busy always a good sign.... Worth a visit

Been going here almost weekly for many years which in itself tells readers quite a lot!Latest visit was to the brand new refurbished restaurant. What a total difference...significant change to the whole ambience and experience. Very modern and very up to date.The food and wine menus have been slightly changed and it's good to see old favourites generally being retained.. Most importantly, the quality of the food and choice of wine, and service, in fact the overall standards, have not been compromised.Well done to Carlo and the team for very positive upgrade to the entire premises and bringing a fresh approach to dining in Feltham.

Friends invited me to Carlos for lunch recently, have often passed the restaurant whilst driving through Fetcham but after my lunch there I think I might be stopping more often!Great atmosphere with friendly staff, a good menu to choose from and not a pizza in sight! Comments about the restaurant being a bit dated are true to a certain extent but it was clean and personally, I tend to judge the food more than the surroundings.

Having just moved to Fetcham and hearing good reviews, my huband decided to book as a valentines treat. Arrived and resturant felt quite dated, seated near to window, but felt very close to the other 2 tables already seated, also when the waitors were serving the other table there were litrally on top of ours, It also felt quite cold at times, as seated near to front door on a very cold evening. Decided to order from the set menu which sounded nice, but left very disapointed. The starter was Ok, not as expected but edible. The mains were not great, not helped by the fact we had to wait several minutes for the side vegetables to arrive. Saving grace for hubby was his desert, but sadly mine was bland so left majoirty on the plate. Service was ok, would have been nice to have been asked if everything was ok. We wont be going back again, for us money not worth spent, There was a real feeling of regulars getting a far better service then those like us who had not eaten there before. It's a shame as we were expecting so much more.

Have just had a party for 20 people at Carlos. The food was delicious and served piping hot. The service is always friendly and they are willing to cater for every requirement. The menu is very varied. An excellent local Italian restaurant with freshly cooked food.

Taken here by friends on several occasions and one of my favourite places. The atmosphere is great and the food wonderful. Everyone warm and friendly and you do not have to wait long for the food (allowing for how busy they are naturally) Certainly book as you may not get in as sooo busy. Parking can be a pain, but even if you have to walk a little way, well worth a visit here.

As this is our local Italian restaurant, we often use it. You get a great meal, lovely and hot and freshly cooked and a good size.

There is always a warm welcome at Carlo's whether I am, as more often than not on my own or with friends. The food is always of a high standard, freshly prepared, served hot to the table and it is obvious that the meals are prepared with the individual in mind, rather than mass produced like you can experience at some of the Italian branded / chain restaurants. You are not rushed at all either. Being family run adds to the pleasure, enjoyment and atmosphere. Italians / Sicilians are renown for their love of good food and importance of family. There is a wide choice / selection whether you are looking to enjoy something from the set menu or the main menu or a mix of the two.The desserts are all home made and round of an excellent dining experience. Wines are specially selected and available by the glass, half or full bottle, the quality is exceptional whether you select a "house" wine or something more special. If in doubt Carlo will always be pleased to make a recommendation.I would certainly recommend Carlo's to anyone without hesitation, whatever the occasion.

A large club, we struggle to find a venue that can accommodate 50+ people. Carlos again came up trumps. The service was brilliant. We have no idea how the meals always come out piping hot with so many to cater for. It remains extremely good value, the prices staying much the same for a number of years.
