The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Easy to find, on the main road, with a small car park behind, there is street parking nearby. The menu is as you would expect in a good Italian restaurant. The service was smooth and efficient, albeit slightly muted from the young staff. N.B. The toilets are up several steps so not easily accessible to everyone. There were four of us. 3 of us had starters, all 4 of us had mains and a drink or two. The food was nicely presented and very tasty, and was exactly as we expected from an Italian restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their food. The bar stocks the usual drinks, priced as expected ( gin £7.50, pint of peroni £5.70 etc) with a couple of alcohol free options available. All sides (fries, salsa, vegetables etc.) are extra to the mains. The bill came to £122 so not the cheapest out there, big eaters and drinkers could spend a lot more. However, there is an early bird menu during the week that looked to offer good value. Overall it was a very enjoyable visit and we would eat there again.

I walk past Maurizio's often but haven't eaten there for many years. On an impromptu night out we enjoyed an excellent dinner. The food was authentic and the veal delicious, with fresh vegetable and huge portions. Several people took home the remains of their food, especially pizza. It would be nice to have a bigger choice of house wine by the glass. The restaurant looks very pretty with a tree in the middle, but the unfinished woodwork would benefit from a coat of paint. When full or with a large group it was noisy as there are no soft furnishings to absorb the sound. It is very popular at the weekends so you need to book. A good local dinner.

Lovely service and atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. Great portion sizes. Food packed with flavour, only niggle is the iceberg lettuce (rocket & water cress shoots would have tipped this to a 5*) and no aioli with the corvette flowers, but lovely flavours running through all dishes.

Delicious food and lovely staff at a very reasonable price, thank you. Even cheaper if make it in time for the Early Bird Menu. Would recommend!

A family run business with a warm welcome, drinks offered straight away along with the menus. The menu offered a bit of everything single meat choice or a trio, I went for the chicken with black pudding with pepper sauce you can have veg or...

I rarely visit in the week, but after today’s visit, I will definitely be making another weeknight trip! La Scala is my favourite local restaurant anyway, because the service, food and atmosphere are fantastic! Another great evening, dining from the early bird menu - pate and calzone; incredible food!

The last time I was here in 2018, I gave it a 3 out of 5!!! This restaurant has greatly improved, the grumpy owner is out the way at the bar and his young workers are out on the floor doing the business. The place looks vibrant and has a relaxing feel. The food was fantastic and great value for money. Tasty and boiling hot!! Lovely young waitress who was on the ball and surpassed alot of waiters who have been in the business a lot of years. Not many Italians in Northumberland that are decent but this place is definitely up with the best ones.

The best restaurant I've ever been to the staff are unberlievably nice and the food is immaculate. The food always come out at the perfect time even when the place is packed. Every time ive gone, the staff have remembered me and my patner which makes the experience 10x more enjoyable as they make you feel so welcome. Their food is very nice especially the soup starter.

Fantastic evening. Excellent food, fresh and delicious. Friendly service and welcoming ambiance. How lucky the people of St Neots are to have this restaurant. If you live locally and haven’t been go - you won’t be disappointed.

My favourite local restaurant never disappoints. Wonderful service and food as always. We went for the early bird deal, an absolute bargain for big, tasty platefuls of food! Peter is a fantastic host alognwith a team of friendly, helpful staff. Food was gorgeous as ever.

We have taken 2 trips to London and made sure to stop here both times. Great option, especially when you need a break from lots of walking. Hiral took excellent care of us!

Nuestro regalo de San Valentín no fue realmente un regalo ❤️‍🩹. Nos habían reservado durante semanas con haber visitado este restaurante anteriormente en más de una ocasión. Empezó bien... Nos mostraron nuestra mesa rápidamente, nos preguntaron si queríamos una bebida mientras mirábamos los menús, yo pedí lager y normalmente te ofrecen varias marcas, así que pregunté qué lager estaba en oferta y el camarero murmuró un nombre que no reconocí y dijo que es house lager. Ok! Pedimos. Sé que estaba ocupado, pero las mesas estaban tan llenas que escuchamos fuerte y claramente la conversación completa de los dos hombres en la mesa de al lado, pero él necesita hablar fuerte debido a los grupos de niños corriendo de su mesa a otra mesa al otro lado de la sala, gritando a donde los amigos estaban sentados, corriendo hacia atrás y hacia adelante más allá de nuestra mesa y otras mesas de los comensales. Jugando con juguetes en el suelo mientras el personal pasaba con bebidas, comida caliente y platos usados. El pan de ajo y las pieles de patata eran preciosas, caliente fresco y sabroso. (Con 4 o 5 niños de aproximadamente 5 / 6 años corriendo a su alrededor) Oí a la pareja en la siguiente mesa comentar sobre esto. Entonces uno de los niños vomitó sobre el brazo de otro niño y sobre la mesa y el piso. (Sé que esto no puede evitarse, pero aún así no es agradable mientras come su comida de San Valentín). Así que ahora hay adultos y niños todos agolpados alrededor y pidiendo personal para ayudar a limpiar. Nuestra comida principal llegó mi pollo estaba bien pero no sé dónde estaba el chile 🌶️ golpeado en la salsa, opté por tener verduras con él (una papa pequeña nueva cortada en cuatro, un pequeño pedazo de brócoli 🥦, pimientos de zanahoria, col roja y unos cuantos frijoles verdes en un tazón) El socio pidió filete de bacalao con patatas fritas. El peor pescado y patatas fritas que ha tenido en ningún restaurante, más pescado en 2 dedos de pescado, todo rebozado, aproximadamente 7 patatas fritas blancas en una cesta, medio cocinado y no agradable. Se fue casi todo. Definitivamente no es un regalo especial de San Valentín. No podíamos esperar para salir y volver a casa por una buena taza. La cabeza ya estaba golpeando. Sé que los niños son bienvenidos en los restaurantes, pero deben estar bajo control mientras que otros están tratando de tener una buena comida fuera. Por ese ambiente podríamos haber ido a McDonald’s. Yo también tengo un niño y nunca llamo a otros, pero wow esto fue una experiencia irreal. 😩 valentines night spoiled! No somos una pareja miserable, pero el año que viene puede ser una cena M & S en la comida para 2 .
