The best restaurants serving Italian food in West Midlands

Afternoon all We're still in Birmingham. In the Jewellery Quarter. We were thinking of Otto for pizza. Not open at lunch times. Doh... Happened, purely by chance upon Trentina which was quite close by. A joyous discovery. Highly recommended if in this area. We had the following House salad Courgette mint garlic and buffalo mozzarella Salsa rossa grilled asparagus Calamarata with tuna, San Marzano tomatoes,capers, taggiasche olives. Each dish was delightful. The house salad especially. Lovely mix of lettuce, peach, mozzarella, walnuts, and seeds. Calamarata cooked al dente. Perfect.

Awful Pizza, Went here for the 5 star hygiene rating. Roni Roni as they call their double pepperoni comes with 12 minuscule pieces of pepperoni on a 6 slice pizza. HILARIOUS! Ready rolled dough from the refrigerator and what looks like a supermarket pizza with toppings added. Avoid if you like quality pizza.

Was passing and was peckish so I popped in because Pizza Village was very clean and inviting. I was really glad I did because the pizza was a really tasty nutritious meal I've had in ages. I will be going again and very soon even if I have to go out my way to do so. D1pak

You can hire this place out for private parties .. great little spot in the middle of town, and decent service throughout.

Very good customer service and good quality food, service was quick, ordered donor meat and chips and was better than I expected

On Saturday morning, the three of us arrived in Shrewsbury on business and were looking for a place to have breakfast. A wonderful cozy place and friendly staff who do not care. We took two pizzas and a lasagna, a latte. All dishes were prepared quickly enough, it was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by the choice of music during our visit (unobtrusive soft bossa nova jazz) and attention to our needs - they turned on the air conditioning for heating so we could relax and enjoy ourselves inside the restaurant). Definitely, if we are hungry next time in Shrewsbury - we know where to go!

Ordered the ham and mushroom pizza via Deliveroo. The pizza was delicious but was very lacking in the mushroom department, there being only three slices of mushroom on the whole pizza🙁....update, we ordered the same pizza a week later, and this time had plenty of ham and mushroom 👍

Had a takeaway pizza - excellent , sourdough based and real pizza . Tasted great too 👍

Just ordered a Margherita pizza. All I got was a bit of dough, sauce and cheddar cheese. When I asked where the Mozzarella cheese on the pizza they tried to make me believe that the yellow cheese put on the pizza was fresh mozzarella. I just paid £6.99 for this what a joke. I spend £30-50 a week at this place never again. You have lost my custom.

If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine you will find it here. Simply amazing and worth every penny! The atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful and excellent service to top it off. You can’t get any better than this. 10/10

We walked into this place which was practically empty and asked for a table for three. They asked if we had a booking. We said no. They consulted with each other and said ok you can have this table but you have to leave at 7:15 it was 6:20 they told us we couldn’t have starters because they had no electricity. I don’t know why you need electricity for olives cheese and cold meat? I don’t think they Really wanted us there.We decided to leave because we didn’t feel welcome and we didn’t want to have to rush our food before they wanted us out. We went to another restaurant where the customer service was amazing and left after paying a bill of £200. We walked past this place just after eight and the table they wanted us to leave at 7:15 was still empty 🤷‍♀️ We certainly won’t be back and they must be doing really well if they can afford to treat people like that.

Great ambiance and super efficient service. Starters are too expensive though. Two menu’s, one twice the price of the other, which is ok if you want to treat yourself, but my wife ate off the cheaper menu and I ate off the more expensive one but not sure it was twice as good.

Decent pizzas at reasonable price. Great place for late night takeaways.

Fantastic independent Italian restaurant that is a real gem. Great service and a really good menu. I have had several trips here over recent years and I would suggest its Birmingham’s finest
