Great service.. tasty food.. well recommended

Late order for 24 take away pizzas and garlic bread. Food was really delicious and made in a timely fashion. Most importantly the communications before pick up were excellent. The restaurant itself looked inviting and I would be keen to come in for a sit down dinner soon!

The 2 stars are for the waiters/waitresses Not one thing Italian about the food. Pizza 🤦🏽‍♂️ not any pizza I’ve had in an Italian before. Sea food pasta was definitely a frozen bag from Iceland. All in all not anywhere near an Italian restaurant that me and my wife are used to going.

Sour faced waitress upon arrival. Then another waitress called Victoria frowned upon us when we asked to give us more time to peruse the menu, especially as it was only 10 minutes since we entered the restaurant! The lady of colour was exceptional, polite, attentative, and endearing - just how a waitress to a paying customer should be. Food was delicious, but we shall not return whilst the sour faced waitresses are there.

Despite some sketchy reviews on this platform, we chose to make this restaurant our Sunday evening destination, we were absolutely not disappointed, our first impressions were that the place was spotlessly clean, we we had pre-booked, were greeted by a waitress within seconds of entering the door, we were given a choice of two tables, we chose one by the pizza kitchen, it was actually nice to watch food being prepared. Our order was taken swiftly, and, despite being busy, our food and drinks arrived at the table in good time, it was also piping hot, no exaggeration. Portion sizes were sensible too, the quality of the food was top slot. I chose the Spaghetti du Mare, and my wife chose the Lasagne, we accompanied it with a garlic bread, beautiful food. The staff were attentive throughout our visit, they are very efficient. We highly recommend this establishment, we will surely make a B line for this amazing place the next time that we visit Lichfield. 5 Star from us.

We entered the restaurant without booking and the staff found us a table the staff were very pleasant the food ordered and was at the table in ten minutes.Truly authentic Italian food!!

The food was very disappointing. Was rather like a flatbread with raw tomatoes, Parma ham and rocket I did send it back and got a spaghetti Bolognese instead. Nothing exciting , no fresh herbs , no salt ,no lemon. probably Wetherspoon does a better Bolognese. They didn’t charge for the pizza. We sat upstairs.it’s cold, no atmosphere, a bit like a cheap Curry House. We were going to give tip, but the waitress was very keen to say:no tip on the card machine. Sorry, we don’t have cash Well, poor waitress.

Lovely pizza & pasta. Really great bonus night to a South Coast holiday Main meal& drinks, around £40. Beautifully seasoned. Everything fresh. (Very last minute, but accommodated us.

I've visited here twice now. I've now been seated on the ground floor and first floor. Enjoyed the atmosphere on both, although downstairs seems more modern and more spacious. On both occasions, food was prompt and very enjoyable, staff were attentive and friendly. There's a public car park just outside.

Food was good . Nothing very exciting in the menu, but well cooked and presented. Not much Italian atmosphere. Reasonable prices.

Couldn’t rate it higher if I tried. The garlic bread starter was perfect, the pizza was the best one I’ve ever had. The profiteroles were next level. Dean served us and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better, super professional, friendly and a joy to interact with. Best pizza and staff 5*

Excellent Italian to have a family meal

Had a very tasty experience with the friendliest staff you could think of.

Smallish restaurant over two levels. Good choice of typical Italian food which was good value for money, and the staff were friendly. There is car parking immediately across the road.

We had been meaning to come here for ages and were not disappointed at all. Excellent menu choice, good service and value for money. We would highly recommend it. Car park literally opposite which is handy.

Loud, drunk people who have to shout.

The food was great - as always. The staff were lovely and very efficient. The only downside was the noise level. We were upstairs, and the acoustics are such that the four of us ended up shouting at each other across the table! Would definitely recommend, unless you want a quiet, romantic meal!

I've never been to a pizza place, and oh my word, it was delicious. Definitely will go again and try some other meals.

We went for a birthday with my partner, I am new to the area, but my partner who is from the area had been a few times and gave it a rave review…: We ordered a bottle of house white.. which was nice enough. For starters we ordered bruschetta with tomatoes.. we were served 2 pieces of crust less toast, with a load of cut in half cherry tomatoes and hardly no olive oil.. For mains we ordered the crab pasta and the king prawn chilli pasta The crab pasta was ok., there was some pieces of crab in it…. My pasta had no king prawns in it.. no chilli and the sauce was extremely heavy. It had no taste it was very bland.. We were asked if we wanted parmasan.. and we went presented with a cup, saucer and spoon with parmsan in it…. The staff where ok, mainly young.. but nothing outstanding There reputation precedes them.. suffice to say we won’t be going again…

Make sure you book! Food was amazing, staff were attentive. Well priced.

A lovely restaurant with professional and efficient staff. Across the road from easy parking (£1 after 19:30). The food is cooked fresh and tastes great. The prices are sensible. An easy walk from the cenof Lichfield. We done to all. We will be back!

I’ve used this restaurant for 30+ years and know the owners Bez & Goli personally. Over this period have used the restaurant many many times, the food is excellent as is the atmosphere. Just rang to book a table for 4th of May, don’t know (but suspect who it is from having seen reviews) which woman answered the phone but can only say, she has a bad attitude. Booked table for 8 family members for 6.30, to be told I have to vacate table by 8.30, when I questioned this she “have you not been in on a Saturday before” I nearly said “yes, many many times” but held my tongue. When I questioned this she had a “take it or leave it attitude” She is clearly losing the restaurant business, I can feel a chat with my friend Bez (the owner) coming on. Can’t wait till 4th of May now 😂

Best garlic bread on the planet

Just had a fantastic meal at Pizza by Goli in Lichfield. The food was incredible, the service impeccable, all for a special birthday. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

My husband passed out at this lovely restaurant last night. As we waited for the ambulance the staff and a number of kind customer's were so helpful - thank you . Over the years my husband and I have had many meals here . The quality of the food is consistently amazing. The staff are lovely too .

Birthday treat all of us enjoy the food

Myself and my partner have supported this restaurant for many years. Unfortunately, we will not be going back again. Last Saturday evening, we attended with a family of 9. When we arrived (promptly), our table wasn’t ready so we waited patiently. We then had to wait a long time for our main courses. We were taken back when a very rude waitress (Sam) came and explained that if we wanted deserts, we only had 15 minutes because they needed the table! We weren’t offered a desert menu and she just read out a few deserts. She told us that we were told we had limited time when we booked but no one mentioned this to us! This was the most rushed meal we have ever had. What happened to the time you could visit this restaurant and have a relaxing meal??

Have visited over many years and previously had great steaks. This time what was supposed to be fillet was served in a bowl, not on a plate, absolutely smothered in sauce. Perhaps this was to disguise the very poor quality of the meat. Did not even look like a fillet and was very tough. Spoiled what should have been a nice meal. To be fair initially we were offered replacements but we decided to carry on. Cost of one steak was deducted from bill but waitress was quite rude and did not appear to accept that £32 for a steak ought to give you good quality meat. Despite our patronage over many years, and support during lockdown (takeaways) we will not be going back.

Myself and my partner have been coming to this restaurant for many years; if we don’t dine in, we have a take away almost every Saturday. After booking a table for 9 guests a few weeks ago, we were so looking forward to a pleasant, relaxed evening. Unfortunately, upon arrival, our table was not ready so we waited patiently. After ordering our food, we waited again for it to be served. We were so taken back by the attitude of the waitress , Sam, who didn’t even bring us a desert menu but very rudely explained that if we wanted a desert we had 15 minutes to order and eat it.We ordered deserts and one of those didn’t arrive until the rest of the party had finished theirs. She told us that we were told to vacate the table after 2 hours. This was defiantly not explained to us when we booked! How do they expect you to eat a 3 course meal in the hour an a half that we were actually allowed? We will defiantly NOT be going back to this restaurant again!

Lovely venue. Food so good . My pasta was so fresh . One of the best I have ever had out. Great atmosphere and all very efficient. 5 star experience

Another visit. Another good meal

This was a very disappoint experience. One of the staff members was so unfriendly and sourly. The food was ok not great. We were a party of 12 for a wedding anniversary treat. The senior member of the team, was not friendly and showed no interest in our group. Very abrupt and spoilt the occasion. We left before cutting the cake. Two of us had the spaghetti ai fruit di mare both were not great, over cooked fish.

I booked a birthday celebration for 20 people and sent a pre-order listing our starters and mains in advance as requested. The meal was served efficiently and the staff dealt with changed orders and extra requests really well. The food was really nice, tasty and satisfying with few feeling the need for a third course. The house red was very acceptable, went well with my Firenze pizza. Will go again.

Great food great staff great night

It was a very busy Sunday evening when we had booked our table, but this did not prevent the staff from providing most efficient and prompt service. There was an excellent choice of vegetarian pizzas. Helpings were generous, but we were allowed to take away what we were unable to eat on the night.

Great food and welcoming atmosphere

Been here for last 4 New Year Eves but this one was certainly not enjoyable. Table for 2 right by the door so a draught every time the door opened on many occasions. No one asked if the meal was ok and a complete lack of customer service. Won’t be coming for another meal in future. Customer service isnt what it was. Very sad

Atmosphere wasnt great. Lighting far too bright. Everyone crammed into a square room with no character. Food was good. Service ok.

Very bad fillet steak so tough I could only manage to eat 30% of it , the rest of my meal was ok though. I did complain but I didn’t have any joy, so we won’t be going back

Usually decent food but yesterday evening it was one of the toughest fillet steaks I’ve ever had, the rest of the meal was ok apart from the raw broccoli . I could only manage to eat half the fillet the rest got left along with the broccoli. I did complain at the end of the meal but nothing came of it so no tips were left. It’s a shame as I used to like going to Goli but we won’t be returning again 🙁

We arrived late due to traffic and we're in a hurry for the theater but the wait staff were lovely and accommodating and food arriv e in five minutes, fresh and delicious. Thank your for wonderful service and amazing food.

A family member Booked a table for 8pm for 8 people for a Birthday Meal. We had pre-ordered our meals as we had been asked to do by the Restaurant by email. We arrived on time and advised they did not have our order and although the email was showing sent, they said it had been sent to the wrong email address and had not been received but no one from the Restaurant had bothered to call to say they hadn't received it. So while we waited for our main meal, we was given two garlic breads between us while we waited and waited and waited. An hour later at 9pm the meals arrived. A table who came in after us got their Starters before we had our meal. The food was average and lacking flavour. Deserts were OK and Serving Staff were pleasant. Downstairs was packed and we were seated in the upstairs room which was very small for the amount of tables and people in there and was very noisy, you could hardly hear what any of us was saying. Overall very disappointing and would not go again.

Consistently excellent, brilliant service. Food used fresh ingredients. The kitchen is open so you can see the chef preparing and cooking the food.

Well we love Pizza by Goli but I’m afraid to say “Lichfield you just ain’t Sutton Coldfield at all” In fairness the food was good but we were put upstairs by the windows, and it was freezing, even the people on the table next to us complained about how drafty the windows were. Sorry to say but I don’t think we will return and don’t think it should even have the same name as it just doesn’t reflect what I know Sutton to be. Such a shame…… Sort those windows out guys, ruins what could have been a great night…!!

The food and service were excellent. However, the visit was spoilt when I was charged £4.95 for a large glass of lime & soda! (It was only a half pint tumbler size though so not what I would class as a large). As the driver I really feel over charged especially when the single gin and tonic was £4.85. Where is the logic in that?! I will return but if I’m driving I’ll stick to tap water. Can the management please review the prices of soft drinks??!

Amazing food, lovely atmosphere ! Scallops were delicious as was the pasta siciliana and the vegetarian pizza we shared. The garlic bread with cheese is awesome. It's nice to have fresh cooked tasty hot food that isn't from a chain of restaurants with a bland menu. Well done Pizza by Goli !

We visited and had 1 pizza , 1 pasta , a couple of starters . Service was very efficient and friendly , food was great . The bill was very reasonable. A nice busy ambiance, and a nice meal we will visiting again.

We were seated upstairs at 8.15 restaurant was emptying out felt cold and soulless . Our starter was poor we shared the anti pasta which consisted of 3 pieces of meat and a loaf of rocket . No condiments whatsoever on the table . Pleasant enough servers but we had to constantly ask for things . They weren’t pre empting customers needs . Food ok my friends prawns I. Her pasta looked decidedly dodgy . On the whole a very disappointing night

Raw prawns.. differing stories as to why they appeared uncooked .. apparently prawns change to grey when being transported 🤷🏼‍♀️ No reply to email. Manager obviously happy to let staff take phone calls and relay messages rather than come to phone himself. Meal was ordered as takeaway so dinner with friend’s completely ruined. £16.50 for congealed pasta and raw prawns.

My Husband had a pizza, said it was "very good". I went for the salmon in a wine, tomato cream sauce which was delicious. Would also recommend the tiramisu. The gentleman serving us was very helpful, jolly and knew the menu inside out.We'll definitely return the next time we're in the area.

My wife and l always go to Goli if we're in lichfield. I'm not a great Italian fan. However, this place is superb. The food, selection, service and great atmosphere. It reminds us of being in Venice, small venue and intimate with genuine italian fare. We are middle aged and expect a certain standard so often missing today. You are never disappointed here.

All the food we had was very nice and we were served by helpful and friendly staff.

We attempted to get a table on a Saturday night but the place was totally booked up, therefore we opted for take out as other pizza places in Lichfield were rated lower on TA. We tried a range of styles from vegetarian to bolognese. Toppings were quite ample but the quality of the pizza bases seemed fairly average compared to a real Italian place. Not air filled, or thin and crunchy. Maybe in the UK this is the preferred style not sure. In general the view was this could have been better.

First class Italian food. Polite and professional staff. Highly recommended.

I am writing this review because there is no ability to review trip advisor. Trip advisor offers no facility to respond negatively to totally unreasonable reviews. I have been a frequent user of Pizza by Goli have over many decades and they have provided exceptional food with only occassional lapses in quality. Several recent reviews are from people who are assigning totally unreasonable ratings for relatively minor issues. They are entitled to their view but trip advisor should allow comment or at least downvotes for poor reviews. Finally TA should encourage criticism of their own facility as well as other providers. I can find no easy way to give feedback to trip advisor.

What has happened???? I visited Pizza By Goli at least once per month a few years ago. Moving out of the area meant that my love of the restaurant would have to revert to whenever I was in the area! The ‘special pizza’ was always wonderful! Tasty, lots of toppings and certainly value for money! Being in the area and wanting to experience that pizza again, I ordered a ‘special pizza’…. Tonight it was bland, not tasty, not enjoyable and the toppings consisted of mainly red onion and green pepper! I know that inflation is affecting all of us but if I wanted a veggie pizza I would have ordered it!!!! At £13.95 I really expected more! Is there a new chef in place??? Or has the management asked the existing chef to make savings??? 😡😡😡😡. Not good!!!!!!

Me and my wife had a meal here the other evening and it was amazing. I am dairy intolerant and this can often cause problems in restaurants but the waiting staff and chef could not have been more accommodating, making for a lovely evening, me and my wife both agreed, the best Italian food we had ever had, would highly Recommend, 10/10

Service was fantastic. We were sat upstairs in a tiny room where I couldn't even have a conversation with my partner due to it being that noisy and how close we were sat to other tables. Asked if we could move downstairs and no tables were available. Food was average, and extremely overpriced. I had the steak, which was just over £28, really nothing to jump up and down about. Shame really because I had been looking forward too it for a while.

Tables could be bigger to avoid having raised contraption to rest garlic bread on. My pizza was "okay" but nothing to write home about. Garlic bread however was excellent.

Its been a while since we last visited, nothing really changed, food is perfectly edible and service is adequate, no more.

As per my previous posting, food still very good, service considering there was an 8-10 person birthday party as well as upstairs dining, service was excellent. As the restaurant is on the compact side, the atmosphere was a little exciting by pleasant.

Excellent Italian food and staff, had a great night there, if there is one area that needs addressing it would be the gent’s toilets as it was not flushing properly, but that aspect did not spoil the night, and would definitely go again.

Good food,bit pricey but worth it.

We booked a table and when we arrived 5 mins early, it seemed to be a massive priblem. It took two of the staff 5 mins to sort out. The table we got was empty all the time. It was very noisy and tightly packed in, the starters were very good the main dishes not so good, perhaps it was our choices that was the problem. All around an average restyarant.

A very convivial cafe/bistro style restaurant. Great welcome and service. The menu doesn't seem to change, but the food is always good, and we mostly choose the same thing anyway! You need to book as it's always busy, which tells you something!

Small resturant with open pizza kitchen. More seating is available upstairs as are the toilets. Pizza was tasty & staff were attentive. Would recommend a visit. Prices range from £10-£14 for a pizza.

Service average food terrible for a 2nd time. Tasteless reheated food. Only good thing about tonight was the garlic bread. Gave it a chance but just cannot return.

Just ordered as have never tried here despite living down the road many years! Wish I had not have bothered! The cannelloni was tiny and the sauce tasted like a 39p jar from a supermarket, the calzone was just an absolute mess the filling was just dumped in and nothing tasted fresh, the chips were undercooked and frankly the type you would get from a cheap burger van for about £1, will not bother again...highly disappointing

Great food and service. Only issue was that we felt like they where rushing us to go. Would understand if we had been sat there for 3 hours but we had only been there just over an hour. Considering it took over 30 mins for first course to arrive I think rushing us was unreasonable.
