We were looking forward to our first visit to what seemed to be a popular and well liked restaurant for its food and ambience. I booked personally 2 days ago with a pleasant Italian owner or staff member. All seemed promising and authentic Italian. Our booking was to nite and our two young waitresses were pleasant but maybe not experienced. I tried to order the house white but was informed it had only been chilled for 5 minutes so I selected a different wine which also was not cold and not pleasent. We ordered our starters which was a simple roasted vegetable and mozzarella dish. When it arrived 25 minutes later it looked bland and consisted of just aubergine and courgette. It was under seasoned and totally tasteless. We tried to remain positive for the main event, sadly to be disappointed further. My friend ordered the sea food dish comprising of prawn, squid, mussels encased in a bread/pizza style casing. Once opened it revealed a grey mush that she described as "sick like". It was so unappealing and bland and she could barely eat it. Mine was an interesting take on a classic pasta with asparagus and plentiful peas. Again not appealing on the eye or in the taste of which there was none. Again under seasoned, unappetising and basically boring. Gordon Ramsey would have had a field day.... We told our waitress how disappointed we were and she said she would inform the "chef". We waited for his appearance which was not forthcoming, so we paid the bill and left... For what we had in terms of quality and presentation it was definately overpriced and under delivered on all levels. Such a shame as reviews from previous year's suggest otherwise. Maybe something has changed recently.... We will not be returning..

My wife and I ate here with my daughter and her family to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Service was good with the server being friendly, helpful and efficient. All the food we had was excellent, the pasta dishes were excellent and the pizza superb. The dough balls very tasty and our desserts very good. We really enjoyed our meal and will happily return here in the future.

We shared a bottle of wine. We both had pizza. Probably the best pizza I have ever had. Very friendly staff and good food and wine at a good price. Highly recommended when in the area. Have told my friends about it.

Really enjoyed my breakfast at Macchiato, friendly accommodating staff , super quick service and lovely food. Great coffee too.

Just had a fantastic anniversary meal food was superb and service excellent.Very good value for money will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend

ottimo posto dove gustare un buon gelato (detto da italiana). oltre al fatto che il gelato è buono, è buono anche il rapporto qualità/prezzo e soprattutto quantità/prezzo, perché è vero si paga più che in italia (5£ per 2 gusti) ma la quantità di gelato che ti danno è molto alta, mi ha decisamente saziato. molto meglio questa gelateria che “gelato gusto” sempre a brighton, dove il gelato costa di più, è meno buono e te ne danno di meno. super consigliata

Cracking little find this place! Stumbled upon this restuarant whilst walking the dog through Cowbridge last night. Ordered a pizza and chips to share with my other half. The pizza is the best pizza I've ever tasted, staff are super friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be paying this place another visit!

Our friends had booked this place 3 weeks before our visit as they had gone there quite a few times, well on arrival we were concerned, went to the bar to check in only to be ignored! We looked at each other with concern, then eventually they abruptly asked if we had a reservation which we confirmed, we were then lead to to forgotten table which was in a little area next to the toilet, front door, constantly ringing takeaway phone, which was never answered and not even in the main restaurant! More looks of concern and a common of “we are going to be forgotten here” well how true that was, after 10 to 15mins waiting for a menu or drinks to be ordered eventually a server came complaining how busy they were and asked if we had been given menus, no came the answer and off she went, when she came back with the menu she the disappeared saying she would be back to take drinks order, why she couldn’t take them then I don’t know, 10-15 mins later she came back to take our drinks order, we were also ready to order our food but she just ignored us and off she went, eventually got our drinks and managed to order food, all the while trying to have a conversation with the front door banging shut the constant stream of people using the toilet and the hand drier going off and that damn takeaway phone! After a long wait we eventually got our food, nothing to write home about, my penne chicken in spinach was bland with chicken that was cooked fresh in little strips, my wife only got two little pieces of chicken in her pasta! Eventually they came back to clear the plates that had been on the table for some time and asked if we want the dessert menu, after sitting an age we gave up the will to live and getting any dessert so decided to pay and leave! Oh and the latte with no coffee taste tipped it off lol, won’t be coming back poor food , extremely poor service and a wasted night.

First visit to celebrate daughter’s Birthday. Staff really welcoming and helpful with the menu. The food was fabulous. Four of us had starters and mains all amazing but the highlights were the hake and the prawn & crayfish pansotti. Loved it here, will be back.

Amazing food and service. My mum and I visited the Isle of Wight and I had read that this restaurant served gluten free food. We didn’t see that they had decided to close for lunch that day so I was so so disappointed as I had driven there for that reason. They decided to serve just my mum and me so we had the whole restaurant for ourselves, it was just the kindest thing and so so appreciated. The food was amazing. What a incredible service just truly grateful. Best place to eat.

We ordered a takeaway from here on Saturday night. Margaretta and a seafood one. Both were cooked to perfection and we had garlic bread as well, which perhaps was a little dry. The staff were friendly and the restsurant clean. Added bonus it has a gin bar opposite and thats where we waited for them. We would go back.

Took a friend visiting from Dorset and she was very impressed with great food and excellent staff! I can throughly recommend the excellent Rum Baba!

Bought a standard ice cream and a standard ice cream with a flake and a dog ice cream on the 22nd July 2024 cost £8.40 .Unfortunately it melted very quickly and more went over my hands than in my stomach as no napkin was provided so i ended up rinsing my hands off with the dogs water that I had in a bag and refilling when i could. What I did manage to eat was pure ice in the middle like the ice cream hadn't set properly and the cornet went very soft very quickly from the bottom up. My partner barely touched his and gave to the dog and we literally sat on the benches opposite by the crazy golf.The only person that really enjoyed there ice cream was the dog. On the plus side staff was very friendly but unfortunately the product didn't on this ocassion meet my standards.unfortunately I couldn't take a photo as was more ice cream on my hands than in my stomach and it was windy yesterday and not very hot so shouldn't of melted as quick as it did.The product looked OK when we was given it it wasn't until we had walked away and started eating it that I discovered it wasn't up to my standards.
