Alghero in Windsor and Maidenhead

What a fantastic restaurant! The food is delicious with a good menu. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The service was timely and friendly. We dined as a group of four and we all enjoyed every mouthful.

After a long tough day we were very hungry and found this Italian restaurant to be just we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food very tasty and good sized portions. I had a prawn linguine with a tasty tomato sauce and my husband had a spaghetti carbonara done without cream. There were lots of prawns and cherry tomatoes in my pasta and my husband’s had loads of bacon. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend.

Definitely the best pizza in Maidenhead!!! Well done chef!!! Difficult to find a great italian /sicilian stile pizza near by... Great customer service... A family place where to enjoy a nice evening... Will be back for sure

First time visit to the restaurant and it was great. Food and service excellent, the chef's wife who served us was so welcoming despite being very busy and nothing was too much trouble. The food was really good and we just love Italian food, we will certainly be going back, would recommend this restaurant

Not often do I venture into Maidenhead in the evening but this was well worth the visit. An authentic Italian restaurant run by Italians. Nothing was too much trouble for the chef and his staff. The food was lovely and the house wine by the carafe was really good. The service was great and the bill was refreshingly reasonable. All four of us agreed that we would certainly be going there again.

With the expectation of delicious and heartwarming Italian food, Alghero disappointed on multiple levels. On a quiet afternoon, with only two other tables occupied, we were sat at the front by the window and door, in a slightly awkward position, where the unpleasant fumes of passing smokers and vapers was always apparent. Slightly intimidated to order from their lunchtime offers, we opted for their parmigiana as a starter and a mixture of risotto and pizza as the main, as both could be gluten-free. The starter arrived 40 minutes after sitting down, despite other groups now having entered, ordered, eaten and already paid in less time. The parmigiana was not that pleasant, just aubergine and slightly thick passata. A noticeable lack of cheese, and no real flavouring, just a bit bland. The risotto and pizza took yet another 30 minutes after our starters were cleared away. GF pizza was over baked, and therefore tough and like crisp bread. Apart from a couple of bits of mushroom to replace pepperoni, there was no flavour - no herbs, bland sauce. Disappointing. The funghi risotto was insipid. Watery and flavourless. It clearly needed another 5 minutes of cooking (note: was not arborio rice), and would have benefited from at least using some stock (plenty of GF vegetarian/vegan stocks available), or at least a twist of salt or pepper. Knowing that this was once the fabulous Bianco Nero, where food was always exceptional, we left very dissatisfied and slightly heartbroken, and feeling that we should have eaten elsewhere.

Perfect family restaurant. Popped in early eve with my little boy. Fabulous welcome. Very nice food. Will definitely be back.

This is an authentic Italian restaurant with friendly and efficient service and great food at reasonable prices. Totally recommend this restaurant with no hesitation!!

Small and intimate restaurant, I came here for lunch and have been once before. Can’t fault the service, owners very polite and attentive. Aubergine starter was a little cold but still tasty and pizza was lovely.

went to dine in with my husband on last saturday lunch. It was very busy. Even though we got great service. The owner checked on us if we enjoyed food and had a little chat with. Ive been in many restaurant around but this one was particularly clean and looked after. I enjoyed their pizza and thr best tiramisuever had. Iwill definitely come back. Bravo

Visited with my family and boyfriend, we all really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Portion sizes were very generous and the waiter was really friendly and chatty. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be returning!

We’ve visited 3 times over the past 6 months and are consistently impressed with the the great fresh cooked food and service - it’s a real little gem of a restaurant and stands out amongst a town full of Italian options!

Very welcoming and attentive. My brother, Dad and I booked here and were looking forward to it. Sadly, I took ill the next day until today still, which I believe was due to the mussels in the Paella. Whilst my Dad and brother enjoyed their food, for this reason, we are reluctant to book again.
