Long Walk Grill and Bar in Windsor and Maidenhead

Decided to give this a try last weekend as a walk in, as we could see there were spaces and it turned out to work out well! I had the lamb chops and they were cooked beautifully, tender and full of flavor! My friend opted for One of the pizzas and it looked good also (not better than my lamb though 😉) Being relatively quiet you’d expect good service and it really was very good- they were very friendly and chatty and gave us some good suggestions on bars to go to after we’d finished. It’s in a great location though if you’re in Windsor visiting which we were. The meals were quite pricey however, more than we would pay for something similar back home, but I think that’s on par with the area and the location. The portions were not huge either, but we didn’t leave hungry. Definitely a case of quality over quantity. But all in all it was a nice experience with a laid back atmosphere, glad we came. Oh and before I forget we shared an apple crumble- was very very nice 😊

We were fortunate to visit this lovely restaurant on Boxing day evening on the last of our 3 night stay in Windsor. The food was fantastic, my husband had t bone steak and I the chicken skewers with fries and salad. The food was very fresh, good portions and very tasty, as was the dessert and reasonably priced. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We returned for the second year in a row, and once again, it exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent, the service great, and the atmosphere absolutely brilliant. The entire restaurant was up dancing to the live singer. The perfect venue for a Christmas party!

Booked a table and he called 2 hours to spare and cancelled our party of 8 because they had a better offer of a party for 30.. wouldn't let my dog eat there now for that.. ignorant people.

Come here for a birthday meal, the host’s were very friendly and extremely helpful! Food was amazing all around the table. Definitely worth bringing a friend, date or party here! ⭐️

Place was freezing cold only us in bruschetta the bread wasn't even toasted tasted stale .. mains was very bland chicken in sauce and ribs .. nobody else in but thought we would give a chance .. would not recommend and not a cheap meal

It’s a really nice restaurant. I was out on a long hike and got a bit peckish so I popped in. I definitely wasn’t the smartest diner and everything was first rate. I went for the lamb chops and they were magnificent followed but a sticky toffee pudding which had a great citrus zest to it. I would highly recommend

Excellent service ,good food , great atmosphere and very welcoming . Prices are reasonable and I highly recommend to try pan fried sea bass . Will definitely visit again .

Well, this place sure knows how to make an impression—just not a good one. We rolled in at 7pm on a Saturday, and the first red flag was that it was emptier than my will to return. But, since everywhere else was packed, we bravely ventured in like culinary explorers without options. Our waitress—a short-haired brunette with the energy of someone who'd rather be anywhere else—sashayed over while chewing gum like she was in a middle school talent show. Pushy doesn't begin to describe it, but hey, we ordered anyway: two pizzas, ribs, a burger, and a chicken kebab. I guess they figured if they cooked everything badly, we wouldn’t be able to pinpoint just one issue. The ribs were an insult to pigs everywhere, the pizza could've used another 10 minutes in the oven (and maybe an exorcism), the burger was tolerable, and the kebab was...fine. After that feast of disappointment, the waitress pulled a disappearing act. Empty plates, empty glasses, and empty hopes of her ever returning. When we did flag her down, she was rude, again—this time, with a bonus: we caught her taking a break at the bar with a Heineken in hand. I guess she was drinking to forget the food, too. Would I go back? Not unless I’m in the mood for overpriced chaos and witnessing an employee’s shift-long existential crisis. 10/10 would not recommend.

The service and atmosphere was pleasant enough. It wasn't busy, which for a Saturday evening was a little odd. The food was ok, but sadly nothing special. In my opinion not worth the high price paid and not great value for money(especially the drinks).

Food is really delicious! The service was friendly and accommodating as well.

This place has a formality that is out of place today. Windsor is full of tourists who have limited time to eat and drink and this wouldn’t be a wise choice. Formica tables and uncomfortable chairs make it feel like my school refectory. Numerous negative comments went unheeded by the two members of staff. I cannot see how this place can survive with exorbitant Windsor rental prices.

We thought this was a lovely restaurant and bar and decided to eat here. The food was very good, though not big portions...hubby was still hungry after his and needed a filling dessert. The place was very busy and the atmosphere was very good. They had a great singer by the name of O'Real who really got the place going and even brought people in from the street for drinks..everyone ended up dancing between the tables - a great night had by all!

Food was very nice, it was quiet when we attended, so cant comment on atmosphere. 4 stars for food as it was good but let down by the Issue that its overly priced for what you got. Adult portions were just slightly more than what id consider a small kids portion and certainly not a quantity worth the price!. (Kids portions were about right)

Found this place as we needed to eat near Legoland. It's about 10mins away. It was very quiet as it was Wednesday night. Service was quick and friendly. The food was lovely, with quite a large choice. The kids menu could be a bit bigger, only 4 options.

Booked a table for 8.30 on Friday 5th of July. Booking confirmed , Arrived promptly to find it not open!!! Unacceptable😡

Fantastic food and great service! The Octopus was wonderful and so was my steak. My wife just fancied a burger which she said was the best she had had in ages! Well worth a visit. We will be going back.

Hubby and I had supper there last Saturday. OMW it was out of this world hubby had lamb chops which was a very generous Porton and succulent and cooked to perfection. I had salmon and it was out of this world. It just fell off the skin and fell apart. The atmosphere was excellent, friendly and a wonderful experience. We will definitely return when next in Windsor.

We were visiting Windsor as we were tourists from Germany. After visiting the castle, we decided to have dinner at the Long Walk Grill. The service was quick and extremely friendly. Quite different to what we are used to in Germany. The food was also fresh and very tasty. All in all, we are very happy with our visit to the Long Walk Grill and would recommend it to everyone!

I enjoyed the salmon dinner and my husband loved his ribs! We were a group of 20 and they handled our group easily and quickly. Everyone loved their food. Thank you!

One of the best steaks I've ever had!

Saturday lunch time. It was dead. Which is never good sign checked the reviews before I walked in. Expensive for like pub fayre and normal pub quality. Service was friendly enough. Drinks expensive. I guess it’s high street prices. But there is an Afro Caribbean place down the road. If I’d known I would been there. I really only picked here as everywhere else in Windsor was packed. It was just myself in there at 230 for lunch. I did require internet. And it was atrocious. For connection and speed. Try at a push but otherwise better slightly cheaper options.

We were well looked after by Luigi and the team as a large group with the whole restaurant to ourselves. They did a great job at getting the food out at the same time and matching dishes to guests. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the atmosphere was convivial.

Long time customer here, they made a big mistake, I raised it in the nicest possible manner. I was then spoken to and treated like a substandard piece of garbage. Real shame but I won't ever be attending again, I hope others see the manner in which they treat their patrons after a lot of money and good times spent. Very sad situation but I won't be treated like I'm worthless.

Had lunch here yesterday with 21 lovely friends before heading to the castle. The restaurant was so accommodating for our large party. They couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely food & a sing song too. Will definitely be returning.

What can I say but thank-you for being able to accommodate us - we were a party of 22. Each table (we had 3) were served efficiently, no one was left waiting on their table for food whilst others ate. Food was really good value, service was great, have absolutely no complaints and would certainly come back, even if there were only 2 of us! As for popping on some music just before we left which we all thoroughly enjoyed it helped our visit to Windsor be remembered for all the right reasons. Again thank you so much

This is a very nice restaurant if you are visiting Windsor. In the centre of town it is conveniently located, close to the castle and the long walk as well as the shops. The food and hospitality is very good indeed. Tasty calamari and pan fried prawn starters, steaks and lamb chops main meal and the children enjoyed pasta. Thank you for making Les’s Birthday celebration special and the limoncello! 😋 This restaurant has live music every Thursday and Saturday too!

Had the best time. Had lovely waiting staff, wonderful food and great live entertainment. Such a happy time for a birthday celebration. Lived it and will come again.

We ordered chicken fillet with mushrooms and potatoes. It was delicious.

This is the 2nd time we have been here when in the area. This time, we had starters and have to say the filo feta parcels that I had were amazing, enough to share as 3 parcels, really light, and also had spinach in not just feta cheese, really lovely. We also had the mushroom and prawn starters and then shared a pizza between the 3 of us. The starters are a good size, so you could easily share or do as we did, starter each, and share a pizza. Everything tasted as if it was made there and then. The pizza was really light and had proper tomatos in sauce, not a ready-made paste. We all enjoyed our food. Coffee was good, too. It was quiet today, but all of Windsor was quiet. Quite a few places were closed, but I can imagine you would need to book evening time. Comfy seats, tables not on top of each other. Very nice restaurant

Good food and service at this cosy restaurant. Varied menu so something for everyone in our family group of eight. Great atmosphere with the singer, maybe avoid a Saturday evening if you are after a quiet, romantic meal but it might break the ice to for you ! Overall very good brassiere style food and staff were very welcoming & attentive throughout a busy Saturday evening - Thankyou.

I really hate leaving bad feedback for a local business and have previously left a good rating for this restaurant but it really was bad. Food, not great, terrible steaks. All served on chunky ice cold plates so food was stone cold. Complained and got a reply of “the heater must be off” then a hasty retreat. Poor service is an understatement! Not a clue. Ladies toilet had no loo roll. All for a large bill with a compulsory service charge, just awful on every level.

Came here on Xmas Eve with friends and the restaurant was quiet (we were the only ones there - should’ve known better!) The waiter was nice but didn’t really understand English well and the food was so bland and expensive for what you get. Such a shame as we all looked forward to it but don’t get how people are giving this great reviews - it was awful food unfortunately. We wouldn’t recommend and there was 6 of us!

The atmosphere was really nice as they had a guitarist. The waiters are very attentive and quick to serve. The food was lovely, and I forced myself to have a dessert 😂 we have booked to go their New Year’s Eve, as we liked it so much.

Popped in for a quick late lunch on a weekday visit to Windsor. Friendly welcome and fast service. Freshly prepared pizza and pasta, plus a couple of beers, and we were well satisfied. Would we visit again? Yes!

Disappointing, thought would try this independent rather than the many chain restaurants in the town. Only one other table seated in restaurant, placed our order and requested water, water arrived but not given glasses so drank water from the wine glasses. Food arrived amazingly fast, little too quickly! Pasta was quite bland, not offered black pepper, halloumi burger , nice enough, but only warm and presentation was again disappointing, Burger and small bowl of chips on large plain , white plate, I am no expert but just something small could have made all the difference,more inviting and interesting. Was ok, but a real shame as would always rather support an independent rather than a chain.

We visited today to after my Dad received his MBE at Windsor Castle and it was the perfect location to celebrate - the food was delicious and the staff were great! Would definitely recommend:)

My friends and I decided to go to this grill bar as we wanted to see the singer who was singing there, and booked a table for three. Unfortunately one friend was unwell so couldn’t go. We were very disappointed as there were large parties of people and it was so noisy that we couldn’t hear the singer let alone hear each other talking. The food was a set three course menu for £40 which was also disappointing as we would not have had three courses, however the food was good, but there were no vegetables with the main meal of chicken escalopes and potatoes. A bit of salad or vegetables on the plate would have made it look more appealing. We found the Manager/ owner rather abrupt in his manner and when three people came in halfway through our courses, he asked us to move from our table to another table so he could accommodate them. Some of these problems are related to it being near Christmas, however if there were a lot of people eating in there at any time of the year, due to the design of the restaurant, the singer would not be heard. We would definately not go to this grill/bar again.

Went here on a Saturday evening for a meal with friends. We soon realised that they were more of a party venue. Very, very noisy. We couldn’t have a conversation. Menu expensive and portion size was small. We would not return.

Atmosphere was great due to party and entertainment. The food was little to be desired! I had king prawns to start that came served like bruschetta. And a chilli oil! It was vile! I ordered chicken pesto pasta which completely lacked any chicken. I was asked 3 times if I had finished as I barely touched this dish! Then Cheesecake came out covered in cream! The cream wasn’t needed! My husband had the same starter, then lamb chops. He wasn’t impressed. And he said the crumble her ordered was crumble served in an ashtray! Overall bad food!

Get yourself to this Grill when you’re next in Windsor……..don’t bother with the chain restaurants further down. Freshly cooked food, grilled, cooked to perfection, choice, atmosphere, staff……..sooooo accommodating, reasonably priced and the staff couldn’t do enough. I visited with mum and dad for their anniversary on 4th November. Got turned away by countless (chain restaurants) but got welcomed with open arms here. Best T-Bone I’ve ever had!!! It was meant to be! They accommodated our children with whatever they wanted as the pizzas were freshly baked and HUGE! So we took the rest home in a lovely packed box

Saturday night dinner with my husband and 2 friends, live music was great and we all had a fantastic time, food and service was also very nice.

Although at the end of the High St, we quite liked the look of both the restaurant and the menu, and returned for dinner. We were seated in the window with a lovely view of the street, and the menu was extensive, with standard meals, pasta and pizza. Although it was midweek and fairly quiet, we received excellent service and our meals were very good. Next time we are in Windsor we will definitely return

What a fabulous night. Great food and service. Which was made even better by the entertainment provided by singer Matthew. He was a breath of fresh air, singing reggae, soul and some old classics. Made everybody want to get up and dance. Only stumbled on the place by chance and had a fantastic evening.

Another delicious meal such a relaxed atmosphere where you are well looked after with great food (gambas. and chicken pesto our go to dinner) brilliant wines and fabulous hospitality. We have never been disappointed

We had an early dinner at the restaurant before going to a concert right across the road. The staff are very friendly and the food was great. It has really nice decor and the bar looked very inviting. There is live music some evenings so we will definitely be back another time. Highly recommend….

Went there due to the excellent reviews of the lamb chops.. Table of 8. 5 guests really enyoyed their meals and the 3 who had the lamb chops (including me) were really disappointed. Bang on average and very expensive. Such a shame. I googled "best lamb chops in Windsor." You must be kidding.

The restaurant looks neat, the atmosphere was cold. The appetizer was served very quickly, but the steak was not prepared as I ordered. I wouldn't recommend visiting this place.

Really disappointing. The pasta dishes were quite average. The chicken shish was dry and inedible . Wine per glass overpriced for what it is . We won't be going back .
