The best restaurants serving Italian food in Sunderland North East

First time in there, live local and it has not long been re-opened. The board outside with quiz night drew us in. We went in with average expectations but actually had a really good night. The food is pub grub, but it was nice, and plenty of it. The quiz was one of the best I have been to, and the quiz master was entertaining. Shame there was not many people in there, but I guess it is just a case of getting the word out that it is worth a visit. I don't often review places, but thought it well deserved one.

Food is always delivered in good time always piping hot and it’s truly delicious they have deffo mastered the art of pizza making ! Chips are fresh and the donnar meat is light and tasty however there garlic sauce is a game changer I highly recommend! The service from taking your order to delivering is fantastic I literally don’t go anywhere else now

Beautiful food, great service and a very cosy atmosphere. I think this is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area and would highly recommend to anyone!

Terrible servicio, los vasos en los que nos sirvieron bebidas fueron reutilizados sin lavar ya que mi hermano consiguió mi vaso que tenía mi lápiz labial puesto... Rollo de cocina utilizado como servilleta, pidió una carta de vinos ... no tenía uno ... me mostró 3 botellas de vino muy barato ... así que no tenía ninguno ... tenía una Stella en su lugar ... regado ... nunca volverá

Was there last night for a Birthday meal, place was more or less empty apart from us and still took an hour just to get our starters ! Was very uncomfortable as it was freezing in there 🥶 but was informed heating was on full, our elderly parents had to keep their coats on 👎. Only Morreti on draft so got a large bottle of Heineken which was £6.00 😲 Never again unfortunately, which is a shame as we like to support local businesses, but too slow, drinks extremely expensive and very cold inside 💠

Fantastic meal with partner. Waitress and chef were very accommodating and honestly the best goats cheese pasta dish I’ve had. Partners peppercorn sauce and Diane sauce was a little unique, however the steak was cooked to perfection - so perhaps the sauce was just unique to tosca’s.

I called last minute to order two large trays of baked ziti for 60 hungry lacrosse players coming down from Maryland for a game. The owner was absolutely amazing—not only did he accept the last-minute order, but he also personally delivered the food to CNU right after the game! The Stevenson University Men’s Lacrosse team loved the baked ziti and garlic knots. I can’t thank the owner enough for his incredible service and delicious food. The boys were thrilled, and everything was gone in minutes. Highly recommend them!!

A lovely welcome. We took a chance and didn’t book and they were so accommodating!! Food was absolutely beautiful and really reasonably priced. Homemade pizzas with plenty of toppings. We did go for happy hour Service was outstanding, would absolutely come back. Friendly staff, lovely ambience - highly recommend

Well, managed to get an early table for a family tea. Service was splendid - even when my loud son was shouting for assistance/ apologies he is autistic and is über friendly and loud. The meal was fantastic and served speedily, extremely tasty starters, main...

Disappointing meal. I don’t live in the area but have visited many times however I do think the quality and service has deteriorated, don’t think I will be returning.
