Food is stunning. Staff are brilliant and very helpful and can’t do enough for you. Very lovely friendly and relaxing setting.

Booked a table for my sons birthday on recommendation. Our first visit. The staff were lovely, making us feel very welcome and moving us to a different table to comfortably seat us all. Tasty fresh bread and butter and bruschetta brought for us all to nibble on.Ordered drinks and then food.All our starters arrived and were delicious.We had goats cheese, mussels, prawn cocktail, potato skins, garlic mushrooms.The staff kept a close eye in us, was everything OK, sorting more drinks for us.Main courses were delicious...steak, chicken dishes, pizza. Had a great experience, will definitely be back. Highly recommended

A local Italian restaurant that is far too good to keep for just the locals! Consistently outstanding food from a very talented chef, great staff and atmosphere. They really go out of their way to make your experience special and cater for any size of group. Great bar area too, with friendly staff and customers, you can eat in the bar area too with full menu available if you want a more casual dining experience.

First time at Amalfi and have to say it was absolutely delicious. Went for a birthday meal and service and food was great. They even did a special lasagne for the two vegans which was amazing and very much appreciated. It can be difficult to eat out and cater for everyone.

Amazing food with great staff in a really nice atmosphere 10/10, I've had almost everything on the menu and it's all been delicious, the steaks are especially good, perfectly cooked with fantastic sauces.

Absolute saviours! We pulled in after a long drive up from London. April and the crew were so kind they even managed to feed us a most delicious bolognaise after hours and chef came up to say hello and serve their delicious cheese cake. Keep us going all the way up to the highlands!!! Hugely grateful and have a wonderful Christmas!! Mark and family

After visiting Amalfi restaurant over several years, my mam kept asking why do you travel that far for “a meal” we’ll in august we went to the costa for a cheeky holiday and took the mother with us, so we decided to stay over night at the airport and call into Amalfi on the way for our evening meal. Needless to say all my mother talked about on the way to the airport was how nice the meal was and how nice the restaurant was and now she realises why we travel such a distance to get not just great food but excellent food and service. This is a total hidden gem and i challenge anybody to visit and find a fault. We are already booked for my mother’s birthday next month.

Attended a baby shower over the bank holiday weekend and the venue was decorated gorgeous. The staff were lovely and attentive and coped incredibly well with how busy it was, they went above and beyond for everyone attending.The food was absolutely gorgeous with a variety of choices for all, we will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this family friendly restaurant to all. 10/10 for everything.

Had my baby shower here at the weekend and honestly the whole thing couldn’t have been anymore perfect! Everyone commented on how amazing the food was, the owners couldn’t have done anymore for us and also the girls working that day. From the minute I booked this venue I never had one single problem. Thank you so much again and will 100% be visiting the restaraunt as well as using the venue for parties in the future!

Absolutely amazing family orientated restaurant. We go regularly anyway but attended a baby shower and also recently celebrated parents golden wedding anniversary. Can’t recommend Amalfis enough. Steve and his team always go above and beyond. Food is always out in good time, hot and unbelievably tasty!!! Whether it be for last minute dinner plans or a bigger celebration you can go wrong by going here!!!

I had the ravioli amalfitana which is by far one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. My girlfriend had the carbonara which was delicious.The staff are so friendly and attentive. I always have a great meal here. This place is an absolute hidden gem!

We dined here this month as we had heard great things and we were not disappointed. We received speedy service and the staff were amazing with our 2 children. Everything we ordered was delicious and the fillet steak was cooked to perfection. We will be booking to go back very soon.

We visited the restaurant with some friends for the first time, was very easy to book by phone, on arrival we were greeted by very friendly members of staff who showed us to our table, give us menus and took drinks order straight away. Starters came freshly prepared and presentation was on point, mains were even better, but the deserts topped the night off, Homemade Oreo cheesecake , this place is a credit to the owners April and Steve. All starters (garlic bread, kalamari, and breaded mushrooms ) were fabulous as were our mains. Portions were VERY generous and I was surprised as to how many lobster ravioli with massive tiger prawns I had on my plate as most Italian restaurants you’d be lucky to get 3-4, here I got 8! Even better, my son recommended this place and brought us here on the eat out to help out so the total meal with drinks was only £25 for 3 people. You’ll have to book, we had to book 2 weeks in advance for a table. They had sanitisers everywhere and restaurant was clean and tables were separated as per guidelines Service was excellent

This is one of my local haunts so may be biased but last night I took my friend from Leicester in for a couple of pints and we decided to have a pizza. My friend couldn't believe pizza was meant to taste as good, He said he wouldn't find a pizza like that where he lived and even joked he would move here just for the pizza. The whole menu is delicious though not just pizza, Best steaks around !

Fabulous service - the food is great. Best fillet steak around! Highly recommend - they also have a happy hour as well but price is generally very reasonable.

Called for the early bird special & we weren’t disappointed. We all chose various chicken dishes served with chips or veg. The food was fresh, tasty, plentiful & reasonably priced. The service was excellent, we will definitely be back 😊

Lovely cosy Italian in the Sun Inn. Love that there are complimentary bread and olives provided (as not many Italians do this now ) to eat whilst choosing from menu . Good choice on both early bird and main menu .Ordered garlic breads potato skins to start ....fantastic , followed by ravioli’s and lasagna. Flavours beautiful .Staff lovely and attentive, very reasonably priced .. would definitely recommend.

Visited Amalfi for a celebration dinner last week. Everything was spot on, olives were delicately spiced and the homemade bread was still warm. We were even provided complimentary bruschetta! Couldn't fault a single part of the meal, the desserts were amazing and we were blown away when the lady told us they were homemade! A must try if you haven't yet visited and sure to become a firm favourite for us.

First visit to Amalfis , food ok, service ok.I did feel after I’d been there a while I was being hurried to leave .The guy kept coming check my wine bottle see how full it was , pouring the last of my wine in to our glasses .Asking if we like the bill !Not sure I would return.

Decided to go to our local Italian restaurant, we haven't been for a while and first of all was surprised to see how busy it was for a Wednesday night. Stuffed mushrooms and Fish cakes for starters then Pollo Michelangelo and Lasagne. We couldn't manage a sweet or another drink. Excellent food and first class service

We had a lovely afternoon for my daughters 30th birthday. The restaurant is normally closed on Sunday and was made available for us 38 adults and 9 children.

first time I have been to this restaurant and loved the interior. Drinks in the bar on arrival and then taken through into the restaurant. Excellent selection on the menu and on the specials board. We were all delighted with our choices and as I only ate half my main the staff were happy to box in up for me. We sat in the conservatory and it was a sunny evening so loved it. Friendly staff and plenty of seating but not too cramped. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Suggesting favourites on the specials menu and replenishing drinks when necessary. Will definitely return.

First time I have been here but will definitely return. Had a drink in the bar on arrival and then was taken through to the restaurant. Lots of room, not too many tables and very well set out. Sunny back room with lots of atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive suggesting choices from the specials board. We all had different starters and mains and the selection of dishes was impressive. Very reasonably priced and portions were generous too. I even took away the remainder of my main course as a carry out! Will definitely return. A hidden gem within walking distance of the family which is always a bonus.

We love this place! You are always made to feel welcome even if it's your first visit.If you go on your birthday the staff always make a big deal of it and sing happy birthday to you. The food is always fantastic with a good choice of dishes and value for money. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area and want a really good Italian restaurant.

We had a private lunchtime function at Amalfi and would highly recommend this restaurant. We requested a buffet for 30 which consisted of a variety of pizzas, pasta and various Italian delicacies as well as gorgeous gateaux. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was. The food and service were outstanding. Thank you Steve and April.

Visited here for an evening meal recently and found it to be excellent. From the service to the quality of the food served, everything was perfect. The happy hour menu has a wide range of dishes and the price is very reasonable; where you’d normally expect portion sizes to be smaller when ordering from a special, here, they aren’t. Not a single complaint about this place - I’d definitely recommend it!

I visited recently with my mum and was very impressed. The food was great, pleasant surroundings and the staff were attentive without being on top of you. This is the best Italian I have been to in that area for a long time and prices are good.

We love the food here! Atmosphere is always good and the staff are class. The tapas is our favourite and so much to choose from and @ reasonable prices! (Prawns are the best) also had loads from the main menu. We always come up here when I come to visit my friend who lives down the road. We can't wait to return.

Recently visited with daughters and wife, service slow unless you are a regulations average at best it's hard to believe the many good reviews, we were so disappointed we decided immediately not to return. With another Italian restaurant 200 metres away from their door you would think a bit of effort in the basics to be top priority. We arrived on time had to interrupt the staff discussing night enforces adventures to be pointed to a table, 15 minutes later asked if we wanted a drink and 25 minutes after that had menus dropped onto the table. 2 hours 25 minutes for a below average 2 course meal not our idea of fun, only 1 empty plate and that because I was starving.

We came for a meal as we were staying at the nearby 'Hideaway at Herrington Hill' We didn't have a booking but managed to get seated immediately as it was still quite early. The service was exemplary and the food fantastic. It would be perfect for small gatherings of friends/family etc. We will definitely be going back.

Booked the Amalfi for our wedding reception in September. April was always at the other end of the phone for us no matter what time it was. My daughter had dropped everything off the previous night for the room. On arrival at the Amalfi on our wedding day. April and her wonderful staff had lovingly decorated the conservatory. Food and service were excellent. Everyone was served within 10 mins. All 30 my guests said the food was amazing and red hot and said they would definitely return again. We wish to thank all the staff for making this special day even better

Through the summer of 2018 I ate at Amalfi on four occasions, each time was a great experience. The owners run front of house as well as the kitchen. Service is friendly and efficient. Waiting times are as I expect for freshly cooked food, not excessive. There are nibbles on the table to keep you going. The food has always been first class. From the starters a stand out for me was the goats cheese with peppers. The filet steak Amalfi main course was excellent. God quality beef, cooked and rested properly, paired with smoked salmon and prawns - delicious!

Came here for a wedding in which the restaurant happily acquainted for a lot of us. King prawn starters with garlic butter was very nice and my main rib eye steak was cooked blue just how I like it. It was huge too. It was also refreshing to be absolutely stuffed too

We have just been in for a meal and it was by far the best food we have ever tasted. We had pate and a baked mozzarella starters followed by a steak dish and spaghetti lobster. Food was so full of flavour and tasted very fresh. The waiters were very friendly and made the meal feel more special. Dessert consisted of profiteroles and shots. We will most definitely be back!! Could not recommend a better Italian restaurant, one of the best meals and experiences I’ve ever had!

Amalfies is a lovely place to eat, with a wide range of quality made food to choose from. The food is delicious and am never disappointed after eating there. The staff are really friendly, kind and easy to talk to. Well worth a visit and also worth what you pay. Highly recommend eating here : ) You can also go next door afterwards for a drink in the Sun Inn.

We recently got Amalfis to host and cater for us after a family christening on a Sunday.

Had a meal here for the first time and was not disappointed. The menu was extensive and dishes can be modified to suit. My partner had a chicken dish which he said was succulent and delicious while I opted for a pasta dish which I requested to be ultra hot....and it was. The host was excellent, greeting customers like old friends and spending time to chat, but not in an obtrusive way. We finished our meal with a couple of excellent desserts (I highly recommend the profriteroles in butterscotch sauce). All in all a great experience and can't wait to return.

Thirteen of us went here for a birthday treat meal. Went before 7pm so were able to choose from the early bird menu. All the dishes went down well, the pizza was especially tasty, genuine Italian food. Staff were very friendly. Easy parking. Will definitely go again.

I quite frequently order dishes for takeout from Amalfi and I have not been disappointed once and think it is good that I have the option to take my meals home if I desire to. I have also eaten in the restaurant several times and found the atmosphere good and all the staff are pleasant and professional. The food is cooked to a high standard and it is clear that it is freshly cooked and not just microwaved like some Italians restaurants I have visited. Recommend to friends and family who have also do nothing but praise the food and service. Prices are good too which is also a bonus

I visited with my partner this evening for a three-course meal. The service was hit and miss - we were waited on by two different males throughout the evening and found the older one to be very friendly and attentive. The younger one was abrupt and seemed like he didn't want to be there.

I have never done this before but Xmas lunch was just a Sunday Lunch nothing good about it, Cost £50 per head ,Have payed less for better , Poor service ,Poor food quality,tables not dressed, overall not good at all

went for christmas day lunch.. there was a party of 7 of us all who were very happy .i personally had the cannelloni to start which was delicious then the turkey and all the trimmings followed by the best cheesecake i have ever had.for a restaurant and bar that was heaving i was very impressed with the food and service and cant wait to go back on new years eve.. My partner and I went for a early tea we ordered 2 mains I went for a 10 once fillet in aBrandy and cream sauce with veg my partner having the sea food pasta both dishes were absolutely beautiful I definitely recommend this lovely restaurant

We've been to this restaurant a couple of times now and each time it's been a delight. There is a good selection of Italian food and everything we've had has been gorgeous. This time we shared a garlic bread with cheese and each had a lasagne. The food was hot and served at a reasonable time, it wasn't amazingly quick but I didn't feel like we'd been waiting ages either. The service was prompt and friendly.

Came with a large group of friends and the service the food and the staff were all brilliant couldn’t of asked for anything more. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a fab night

Fabulous friendly fantastic visit as usual service second to none. We started with the best starter I have had in my life scallops and prawns in a white wine sauce all of it was amazing. Our main courses were our usuals and as usual to the highest standards. This is my favourite place to eat I cannot recommend enough.

Have been to Amalfi on numerous occasions and always have a nice meal. Good value and service, and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Particularly enjoy the chicken dishes. Wasn't too chuffed with the fillet steak that my brother recommended last visit.

Sunday 2 course lunch was delicious lovley tender beef with lots of fresh vegetables and 3 different potatoes, staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovley comfortable restaurant will definitely be going back and would recommend this lovley place.

An unusual string of events led me to Amalfi by pure accident/luck! The task of booking a table for our anniversary was left to me. I fancied trying somewhere we hadn't been so made a short list from trip advisor as I do, when I got a phone call to price a couple windows for an Italian restaurant near by so I thought that's handy I will just book there! Unfortunately the place had no appeal (being polite) so I left not asking. On the way home I passed another Italian but missed the turn and pulled over further on, right outside Amalfi! Amalfi seemed to have more better reviews so I went in and was pleased with what I saw so I booked a table for two. The food was fantastic! Starters were amazing, my wife had a seafood mix from the specials board and I had mussels! And the main....Best steak I have had in ages! With prawns and salmon absolutely delicious! My wife's chicken and prawns also delicious! The room feels cosy and Service was spot on, our waiter even noticed when my drink was empty and asked if I would like another! We will definitely return.

This is our must go for an italian meal. early evening favorite with standard dishes excellently preparred and very tasty. Rissoto is a favorite but Arabiata is highly reccomended. very friendly and reasonably priced we have never been dissapointed

Fantastic food during the happy hour period. The garlic bread was lovely and light. Pizzas and pasta went down very well too. I had the pollo Milanese with a very colourful and fresh salad. The food was not greasy (as you sometimes find in other restaurants). We recommend this restaurant!

Came here for Valentines night with my fiance. Was our first visit but wont be our last. Food was beautiful. We both had the pate stuffed mushrooms to start then my fiance had flattened breaded chicken..sorry dont know the posh name for it!! and homemade chips and I had chicken and tiger prawns in a creamy mushroom sauce and veg. They were both absolutely delicious. I couldnt eat all of mine as it was two chicken breasts was gorgeous. Would get it again. Service very good. We had a lovely table right next to the window. Really enjoyed it and will be back.

We were visiting Friends in Newbottle and they took us to this fantastic restaurant. From when you walked in you could feel the atmosphere it is a lovely place, well set out tables not too close together. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They gave complementary bread and olives and wonderful tomatoes on bruschetta. I had garlic mushrooms for a starter which were lovely, my friend had a prawn cocktail that looked amazing, her husband had soup and my husband had tiger prawns which both looked great. I had chicken breast in a mushroom and paprika sauce it was the best l had ever had. My friend had chicken in a white wins sauce she said it was lovely. Both of the men's meals were great too. I can't Praise this Restaurant enough. Well done the Amalfi l do hope we can come back one day.

Had the most delicious Chicken Kiev last night . First time I've been and can highly recommend . Staff were attentive but not obtrusive. Lovely atmosphere .Busy for a Wednesday night just after Christmas . If you haven't been you must give it a try .

Had an excellent experience and the Amalfi, on what was a very busy night. The restaurant has a lovely welcoming feel about it the staff are pleasant and obliging. The service is good but a little fractured but hay ho, it was busy so just talk and drink a little more. The food was top notch and prepared with love and passion. Will definately be popping back in the future.

The place was very inviting, the staff very friendly & helpful. We were shown to our table straight away, there were 6 of us in our party. The service was excellent. We ordered 6 different starters which all were very well cooked and tasted just great. We then ordered 6 different main courses, and they turned up altogether and piping hot. The meals were fantastic, the best we had tried for years. Can recommend The Sun Inn to anyone looking for a great place to eat.

A friend recommended this place and we are so pleased they did. The atmosphere is lovely and the food just out of this world. We have never had a bad meal yet. I have tried the pizza's and also the Chicken Diane (which is a favourite of mine). I can never manager a sweet. The staff are lovely and always have a chat on. It is very cosy inside. It's becoming a favourite of mine as it's quite local.

Can't recommend enough. My wife had the chicken and was delighted. Generous portions and great service from friendly staff. Give it a try. The food is superb.

Started with my usual prawns in a mild chilli creamy sauce which was fabulous as usual. Then had the sea bass with prawns and mussels omg amazing does not cover it. Hubby had the salmon fishcake to start and the rack of lamb yum I tried both mmmm mmmm

Lovely relaxed friendly atmosphere . Staff always very friendly and smiling, welcoming and well mannered can't do enough to for you . The food is delicous and well presented, generous portion sizes so always leave full and satisfied . We ate Thursday evening and it was just nice amount of customers, the main male host is lovely always pleasant and smiling and the female lady also very nice greeting you when you enter they always make you feel welcome so we always enjoy our meals and hosting from the Amalfi .

Love this restaurant it never fails to deliver good service, great food and in lovely surroundings. I have lost count of how many visits I have had and am sure there will be lots more.
