I didn’t really enjoy my experience, we were at a table for 2 near a door at the back of the restaurant. There was a terrible draft and I was cold throughout the whole meal. This wasn’t helped by the fact that my main meal was not particularly warm or tasty. Plate was cold and it was just a large plate of mush. I think I chose wrong ! Lobster ravioli, loooking around other diners did appear happy with their food but for me this was a less than average Italian meal.

We used to go to Gianni’s regularly when the original owners ran the place and it was always a firm family favourite. We went back tonight for the first time in years and it was like stepping back in time! Delicious food, great atmosphere and fantastic service - just like it used to be! We’re absolutely delighted and we’ll certainly be back soon!

We had been recommended to try this restaurant, so we tried it. Our first indication that this might not have been a good choice was that no one ever came to our table to begin the service! Everything was on us, from ordering drinks, food, dessert menu or the check. We never received any water or were asked if we wanted anything. Now we did see a glimmer of hope from some of the staff, but one waitress seemed like she would rather be somewhere else. It was like it was the first night they had been open and no one knew what to do. Now it was not all bad, as the food was good, plenty of it and at a fair price. Proceed with caution and definitely be assertive with the staff!!!

It is fair to say that that we had a mixed experience here. We went as a family group and some members of the group really enjoyed their meals, but others found the food poor. My own meal was a large portion size, but felt like a definite case of quantity over quality. Another member of the group felt the same, and said her pizza was very stodgy. But the person that had the steak really enjoyed that. The staff were friendly but seemed uncertain and lacked confidence. It was very quiet on the evening we went, and there was a very sterile atmosphere. Perhaps some music would help, and some attempt to make it feel more cosy with the decor - it is all quite bland and there are still Covid social distancing stickers on the floor. All in all it felt quite average. Certainly room for improvement. If you find yourself here, maybe have the steak!

Intrigued by Greek/Mediterranean vibe we booked Mambos for an early evening dinner. Reception staff showed us to a table in a largely empty restaurant and we ordered drinks, wine, mains and desserts and coffees afterwards. The waiter / waitress were really friendly and swift. The food was good and served hot, although due to the questionable orange/pink neon lighting, the chicken appeared perfectly no and uncooked. Note: it probably was cooked, only in appearance it was off-putting. Dessert and coffees were also nice. But here is the rub: for the first time in any restaurant on any continent, myself and partner were asked to vacate the table and finish our drinks at the bar while the restaurant remained with many empty seats. Poor management decision! I took back our generous cash tip from the bill wallet before leaving with great disappointment and will never return. Shame on you. You have good efficient people, good food and drink, but poor management decisions do not encourage local return business.

I got a takeaway tonight. Unfortunately even though Vespa is 3-5 minute drive from my house, the pizza and chips I ordered arrived luke warm which quickly turned cold when plated. I had to then reheat in the microwave. The chilli and honey dip I ordered wasn’t sweet at all and more like a chilli oil, with no flavour. I have eaten in restaurant before which was lovely, hence the 3 star, as this may just be a takeaway issue

The staff made our little pug Bella very welcome. It's great that Caffe Nero allows dogs. After watching rare seabirds and seals on the river Tweed we were able to escape the rain, enjoy yummy coffee, lunch and cake, and relax with Bella. Many thanks - we'll back. Five woofs from Bella! 😁 🐾🐾

Saturday afternoon, Half the dinning area closed at 3:30 for cleaning. Ordered coffee and cake at counter. Sat at uncleared table. Order brought to dirty table. Coffee was in paper take away cups, tasted dreadful. Cake just ok. Altogether an experience to forget, won’t be going back! This was the new outlet beside Blyth Beach Huts.
